We have been providing equipment for Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet's dogs for years and the dedication this company gives to our veterans and military is overwhelming. They are committed to training the best service dogs and protecting the rights of our heroes to use them.
I been volunteering for guardian Angel's for soldiers pets since day one.
We have been supporting GASP almost since their inception. It is a wonderful organization that has done unprecedented things for our military who are deploying and in the past had to give up their pets and now can have them fostered until their employment ends. Deploying from family and friends for extended periods is hard enough on our military - to have to give up their animal and put them in a shelter to go to someone else while they serve our country is an unspeakable heartache they should not have to face. Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets have filled that void and given our military personnel peace of mind that they have their wonderful loved pets to come home to.
This is a wonderfully operated service for care of deployed military personnel pets until they return. It is also working to provide PTSD dogs and provides needed food and health care for pets of homeless veterans. I have been aware of and donated to this 'charity' for years.
The people involved care deeply for the work they do for veterans and their pets.
You could not find a better place to donate if your heart is with our Veterans and their needs.
I've volunteered with this great organization for over 15 years and constantly get reminded of how dedicated their staff is. They put in many unselfish hours in an attempt to help our military members.
I believe what they do is so important mentally and emotionally for both human and pet. To know your loved one is going to be taken care of, one less worry and can concentrate on other important things!!! Thanks for all you do Guardian Angels!!!
I have served three tours of duty since 2012 fostering three sets of cats for military service members under this wonderful organization. The soldiers have very little notice at times and their only option is to turn their animal over to a shelter. These animals, especially my foster kitties, were family members for the soldiers who could not have accomplished their goals and returned to their beloved pets without the existence of Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets. Each reunion was so heartwarming and showed me how necessary this organization is for our military!
When my husband and I joined the military in 2011 we had two cats. We were both going to be training at the same time and we did not have any family members that could kept the cats for about a year for us. Guardian angles for solder's pet was able to find a wonderful couple that fostered our babies for us. We are so greatful that we did not have to lose our pets to join the service and we look forward to being able to foster for other military members once we have completed our service in the military.
I'm the current CEO/President of this organization and want to thank our donors, our registered foster homes, and our Admin/Support volunteers who spend their time between jobs and family being there for our deploying and veteran pet owner. Since we began through our Pet Foster Home program we have reunited 115 companion animals with their owners (deployed following a combat or peacekeeping mission and our veterans who have faced major inpatient medical or homelessness situations). In addition with our MPA Fund we have helped 76 veterans and 111 beloved furbabies in disbursing a total of $62,484 covering temp boarding and veterinarians costs. Know there are not enough words to truly thank those who have worked with me over the last 12 years doing what we humanly possible can to help our military, veterans, and their beloved furbabies who need our assistance. Plus sincere thanks and appreciation to our donors who without you, we will be unable to continue mission. God Bless and Angel HUGS from our TX National Office.
My first experience with fostering military pets was with Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet. JC and Rocky were deployed to St. Louis while their Army Mom was stationed in Afghanistan. Since this was my first experience, I had a lot of questions. The rep with GASP was incredibly helpful! Before I was put in touch with the soldier, GASP checked with my vet, 2 references and my landlord. VERY thorough!
Doing amazing work to care for the loved pets of the military. This is so needed. I remember a sad case while I was at Montgomery County Shelter and a husband/wife military couple came in with their two dogs. They were both being deployed. They had never been separated from these dogs and the dogs had also always been together. Their was not a dry eye at the Shelter that day. I know the Shelter did the best they could to find a home for these dogs. An organization such as Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet works to provide foster care for pets while service people are serving our country. Work very needed.
I love Guardian Angels For Soldiers Pet. I been with them since 2009 and placed quiet a few pets in foster homes.
I have volunteered with this wonderful organization since 2009. The dedication of all involved is strong and their devotion and generosity has been a blessing to the mission. Please support these Guardian Angels and the veterans they assist in their time of need. Volunteer to foster the pet of a deployed soldier or a homeless veteran or a veteran in need of care. You won't be disappointed. The joy you bring a veteran will never be forgotten. Please support our troops and their beloved pets.
I am a Social Worker in a housing program for Veterans; I typically make home visits to ensure that a Veteran's housing is stable and that the Veteran is getting all of his or her needs met. One of my clients kept cancelling his appts. with me saying that he was sick and not up to a meeting. After several cancellations, I insisted on coming to see him and he did not put up a fight. I found him lying in bed, far more ill than he had let on. It was clear that he needed medical attention as soon as possible, however, he refused to leave his dog. I had never approached this program for help before but was immensely relieved when the response for dog care help was compassionate, thorough and immediate. This Veteran's income was a little over $1,000/month and he could not afford the vaccinations required at a dog boarding facility. Arrangements were made to pay for these as well as the daily rate the boarding facility charged. When the Veteran was assured that his dog could be boarded at a facility close to his home, he agreed to have a neighbor help him get his dog there. It was only when he knew his dog would be safe and well cared for would he agree to go to the hospital. As it turned out, he was in need of about 2 weeks of medical care in the hospital; although we initially thought that we could only be granted one week of dog boarding, Linda made arrangements to provide enough funding to the boarding facility for the additional time this Veteran needed to be hospitalized. If this Veteran did not have the peace of mind that his dearly beloved dog friend would be well cared for, he would have chosen to stay right where he was at home despite being so sick. This program and Linda's support saved this man's life. I can't express my appreciation enough for all she did to be there for us at a very difficult time. Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets is exactly that! They were there to provide life saving help for a Veteran with no family and limited funds. Our gratitude is endless!
My husband and I lost our beloved dog "Kenai" at 11 years old about a year ago. I was still heartbroken and wasn't sure if we were ready for another. While surfing Facebook, I came across an article about Guardian Angels for soldiers pets. I applied to foster a pet for a soldier heading to Afghanistan or Iraq. We were matched up with Karen who had two Doberman Pinchers. What a rewarding experience. We were able to help a soldier who in any other circumstance may not have been able to keep her beloved pets. We fostered for a year and loved being able to help a soldier serve our country with the comfort of knowing their pets were safe!!
I fostered a gray chow for a soldier deployed to Africa this past year. The experience was wonderful! I learned to love chows, instead of fear them. I laughed at his antics while he helped me to fight against my stage 4 cancer symptoms. I had full support of the organization at all times. Although he is now reunited with his soldier, he stays in my heart as an inspiration to help our pets and our soldiers in their time of need. I was rewarded tenfold!
I love volunteering with Guardian Angeles for soldiers pet because the dedication and care they show to the military community and thier beloved pets is unparalleled. Completely operated by volunteers, every cent donated goes directly towards helping our service men and woman care for the pets who care for them. This organization is what ALL 501 c3 nonprofits should be.
I had been struggling for a while. I went into a program to help veterans get housing and get back on my feet. This program is transitional housing through the Salvation Army in Charlotte, NC. I got approved for a section 8 voucher just for veterans. The transitional housing does not allow pets however. I needed a safe place for my 4yr. Old German Shepherd, Nana, while I focused on what I needed to do to get back on my feet. Guardian Angel for soldiers pets is that place, I can trust these ppl with my best friend and confidently do what I need to do knowing she is safe.
They do excellent work. Our Vets need and deserve this.
Efficient, committed, and appreciative.
Supporting our soldiers and pets, a great combination.
My neighbor and good friend was being deployed to Afghanistan and needed someone to care for his two big dogs. Unfortunately I am was unable to help him out. He searched online and found Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet. He was matched up with a foster home nearby. He was able to take his dogs to the foster home so that he could meet the people, see their house and yard and have his dogs meet them and their dogs.
Not only did this couple foster his dogs but they sent him pictures and updates though out his deployment and when he returned they have remained friends. He was more grateful than I can express here. I was so impressed by Guardian Angels and their ability to help my friend.
