Best rescue I've ever dealt with, A+. This group does fantastic work, not only do they do a tremendous job with their fosters but they spay or neuter many community cats.
I HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ORGANIZATION AND ANYONE WHO CRITICISES THEM FOR ANY REASON IS APPARENTLY JUST A NEGATIVE PERSON WHO IS JUST TRYING TO SABBOTAGE THEIR EFFORTS. THESE PEOPLE ARE EXTREMELY COMPASSIONATE HARDWORKING PEOPLE WHO TRULY WANT WHAT'S BEST FOR ALL OF THEIR RESCUES. IT'S A GUTWRENCHING, HEARTBREAKING JOB, WITH A LOT OF CRYING, LOST SLEEP, EXPENSE AND GRIEF BECAUSE OF THEIR LOVE FOR THESE SWEET CREATURES. WATCHING THEM SUFFER OR DIE AFTER ALL THE HOURS OF EFFORT TO BRING THEM BACK TO HEALTH. HOW MANY PEOPLE COULD DO WHAT THESE PEOPLE DO? THEY DESERVE NOTHING BUT RESPECT AND APPRECIATION FOR ALL THE LIVES THEY'VE SAVED. I SAY GOD BLESS THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND ALL OF THEIR VOLUNTEERS. DON'T CRITICISE...DONATE !!
After thinking about the negative review and the date on which it was posted I have a very good idea of who put it on here. It was not a person who called wanting me to take their pets but a person who was upset with me because my rescue spays and neuters all our foster animals before they are adopted and another "rescue" does not. I did not start this arguement btw.
My name is Lori Reynolds and I am the director of Grove City Area Pet Rescue. This is in response to what KimBill wrote. I have never in 12 years said to anyone "would you rehome your child?" I do not appreciate people being dishonest on here about my rescue. I have taken in many animals over the years from people who could no longer keep their pets. I probably told them I was full as I do rescue from my home and only have a limited amount of time, space and funds. I have a feeling that if I did actually talk to this person that she's not telling the whole story.
I was so,so disappointed in this rescue. Although, I realize they must do good things because of the good reviews, they have sorely disappointed us. My husband and I both lost our jobs due to downsizing. We both had a few weeks of UC and just could not keep our pets any longer. We called them for help. We got harassed instead. "Would you give your kid away????" Very nasty tone. I would now like to say, "Yes, I would gve my kid up for adoption if it meant he would be fed, clothed, and sheltered and I couldn't." Seems to me that they are in the "power game" and not only there to help the animals. I WAS doing the best I could and giving them away was the best for them. Happy to say, my husband now has a good home and we contribute heavily to Animal Friends in Pittsburgh. Would avoid this rescue like the plague.
