Programs: Stewardship/restoration- planted 66,150 trees and shrubs at harkens lake, willamette bluffs and, bald hill farm, conservation areas- planted 52 acres prairie with native wildflowers and grasses. - completed a 10-year financial analysis of all long-term stewardship funding needs for current and future projects. - added $355,227 to long-term stewardship fund to maintain the newly-protected courtney creek and harkens lake properties.
land conservation: - 200 acres permanently protected in linn county along the upper calapooia watershed that provides critical protection for wet prairie habitat, including the preservation of one of the valley's largest populations of the endangered bradshaw's lomatium plant. - 15 acres permanently protected in benton county that add onto glt's harkens lake conservation complex within the willamette river floodplain. - worked with conservation partners throughout mid-valley to identify conservation goals for each of glt's conservation areas of interest. - awarded over $3 million in grants for land acquisition and conservation easement projects. - developed deeper partnerships throughout the valley to expand our conservation landowner outreach program and to help ensure our conservation efforts support a resilient network of conserved habitats.
education/outreach: - 1800 people attended glt events, hikes, presentations, and meetings. - 1600 volunteer hours to help steward our lands and raise community awareness. - coordinated 5th annual volunteer naturalist program. - 52 public events, presentations, and tours. - coordinated the 11th annual run for the hills trail race. - in collaboration with environmental education partners and generous grantors, greenbelt launched a second year of an environmental education program that coached teachers on taking learning outdoors and engaged 5 classes of third graders in nature education field days at bald hill farm.
