I recently had to take my precious rescue Labrador retriever, Spot, for treatment of a severe and recurring ear infection as well as his yearly wellness exam. As much as I did not want to, I had to reach out for financial assistance. Steve, of Green Pets America, promptly began working to ensure I received the help I so badly needed. I was greatly appreciative and most impressed with the way everything was handled!

I love Green Pets America and am proud to share my experience with them as a volunteer. First and foremost you have to understand that we are all unpaid volunteers who give our time and energy and our own money to promote the adoption of orphaned, abandoned and injured dogs and cats in our community. Companion animals offer so much and ask for so little. We also promote humane education, happy and healthy pet tips and forward thinking information about the way we treat and house our shelter animals today and for future generations to come. Additional note: To maxinewant2be who adopted Apollo - Our sincere apologies for all we failed to do when you adopted Apollo from us. Thank you for loving him and your commitment to him no matter what. We had a shift in volunteers during that time and we are only human and make mistakes. The dogs and cats are the best part of us aren't they? They make us want to be better.

I adopted an older Pekingese named "Apollo" from this selter on late December 2013. I love the dog and do not want to give him up, but I have many problems with this shelter.

As of today (May 2014) and despite many attempts at reaching these people, I have still not received a copy of the signed contract, nor any of the paper work that was promised to me.

They gave me a checkup record stating that the dog was basically healthy, and a Rabies shot certificate, but neither paper had a reference the dog's name as Apollo, but it was written in by hand. They told me he did not have a microchip, but I have since discovered that he does have one. I have also discoivered that he has heartworms, and it was an infection that was established long ago enough for it to be known at the time of his adoption.

I still have the borrowed crate and other equipment that they left at my home for the "puppy visit", but repeated requests to have the stuff picked up have remained unanswered.

I love the dog and am willing to pay for the heartworm treatment, but I would never recommend that anyone wanting to adopt a pet come to this site.

After learning about GPA I was certain this was an organization I wanted to support. I have 4 rescue pets right now and would adopt more if I had room. The people at GPA are passionate about rescuing all homeless or abused animals and nurturing them until they are able to find the perfect home. I would volunteer my time or home if I lived closer however I am in Pensacola, FL.

Everyone at Green Pets America (GPA) is so caring, and they strive to make a difference with how animals are treated. I personally know the Founder of GPA, Steve Monahan, and he is making great strides in bringing awareness about the horrors that happen to animals and how the system can be changed. All donations go to where it's needed the most - the animals.

I adopted my Chloe from Green Pets and I know several of their volunteers. They are a wonderful rescue group and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new pet.

You can change forever how we care for homeless animals in America. this is by far one of the most helpful and compassionate non prophet organizations ive ever ran into. The constant battle to save the animals with wonderful results many pets are able to stay at home during these economic crisis with the help of meals fur pets and helping needy families feed there pets instead of having to adopt them out and possibly face getting put to sleep... i thank god for them ..

I have received help from this organization once this year and once last year for my dog and cat. They are the sweetest people. I got 25 lbs of premium dogfood and 2 large bags of catfood, and they even gave our kitty a toy! It just goes to show that there are still good people in the world!!! Thank you Meals Fur Pets!
