Mission: Green beetz inc. Harnesses media, entertainment and technology to innovate nutrition education and make healthy eating fun and cool for kids.
Programs: Green beetz is a comprehensive program that teaches kids about all aspects of food literacy and what it means to be a good food citizen, delivering information in a way that is entertaining, hands' on and draws on popular culture. The digital curriculum acts as the anchor of an immersive educational experience, and the main messages of each lesson are reinforced through experiential learning activities including cooking and science demonstrations, art and games. Green beetz has been implemented in two settings - as an in-class program for students and an after-school program, delivered by a green beetz instructor who works closely with the staff of the hosting institution. In 2014, green beetz was active in harlem delivering the program at east harlem school, p. S. 007 and an ymca after-school program in central harlem.
