Causes: Government & Public Administration
Mission: The corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended, or any corresponding provision or provisions of subsequent superseding federal revenue laws (the "code"). In furtherance of such purposes, the corporation shall (i) educate students, local media artists and technicians with seminars, business and technical training, while providing fiscal sponsorship opportunities to help aspiring and experienced film professionals; (ii) coordinate on behalf of the city of philadelphia and its governmental departments film making projects within the city of philadelphia; and (iii) on behalf of the city of philadelphia and other local governments, promote the region as a film making locality in order to enhance employment opportunities and the image of the region.
Programs: Produced and distributed an annual film guide that was distributedinternationaly until 2011; subsequently the organization has redesigned its website to offer an interactive directory of professional trade and service providers in order to ensure that local individuals and businesses are hired for productions that we attract to the region.
sponsor and present: filmmaker workshops to educate and serve the needs of the local indigineous film community; lectures and presentations to the public to promote the economic development activity of the film and video industry; tripod education program where students are monitored by professional filmmakers to create films for nonprofits; set in philadelphia screenplay competition; fiscal sponsorship program to serve as fiscal sponsors for film projects applying for grants from foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
presenting digital photographic location images, scouting on location,coordinating government services, and working with muncipalities and neighborhood associations to attract film and video productions to the region and ensure successful outcomes.
