Causes: Community Clinics, Health
Mission: To use available resources to provide acute health care to children and adults who are unserved, underserved, or have no access to health care.
Programs: The greater killeen free clinic continued providing acute care to low income, uninsured children, and adults, but underwent a major expansion of program services in 2014, adding 20 hours of chronic care a week with a mandatory education component, and a well women's clinic for women needing gynecological care outside of family planning. Through a special project with baylor scott & white and bell county, mental health services were added for primarily inmates coming out of bell county jail directed by judicial mandate. This expansion increased the patient census by more than 1700 over 2013, and would not have been possible without the hospital partnerships that supported the clinic with increased services such as diagnostic testing and specialty care. Planning began in 2014 for a health promotion program, which kicked off in january 2015 with lunch n'learn and will include the walk club and zumba classes later in 2015.
