I attended a planting day in downtown Redwood City. What a lovely morning, the two staff members present were very knowledgable and engaging. They carefully demonstrated how to plant, why the native plants were important and what the site had looked like previously. We put in 4 different native plant species and also removed a few invasive plants as well. Lively conversation, great snacks and the other volunteers also seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Thank you Grassroots Ecology for making this area a haven for native plants, insects, birds and much nicer for the humans that surround the site.
