Causes: Crime & Law, Rehabilitation Services for Offenders
Mission: To prepare and assist inmates for re-entry and to provide support to their families and community.
Programs: There are four points where we provide service to the offender. 1) teach: we lead classes in bible study, anger management, parenting, fatherhood, life skills, and relationship classes. 2) meet: we are at the gate when the inmate is released if they have been active in our program, and we have seen a change. We provide them with a cell phone, clothes and toiletry items for their journey. This helps them to transition safely with basic needs. This demonstrates self worth, caring, and dignity. Contributes to the reduce of recidivism. 3) locate: find programs and transitional living arrangements for newly released offenders. We work with state and county agencies to assist with the immediate housing needs of the individual. 4) provide: we help fund and volunteer with local food banks. We support the design and creation of community gardens to provide fresh vegetables to the families.
