When I first started classes as a student at GO I enjoyed it. It had been 13 years since I had been a student and I did all my academics in french. I was combining my night work shift and school and was worried that I won't be able to pass test.
After a few month of classes I earned my diploma quickly and was glad to move forward.
After GO I have progress pretty well through my education and become a secretary at a Moving and Storage.
Shout out to Ms. Zukkierma, Ms Karen, Ms Lisa, Mr. David for the motivation. Ms. Zukkie for the Math and reading Ms. Karen for Social study and Science, Mr David for the Math and Essay.
Thank you for being there for us.

I WOULD GIVE 0 Stars . The program is a DISGRACE ! I was helping my daughter in law to attain her GED. She went to Grace and took an assessment test and an interview Spring/ early Summer. They told her she could begin classes in the fall. When the fall came they told her they were going to promote a rigorous course that would be 8 weeks instead of 12 and she would have to wait until the Feb. classes. She did patiently, when the time came they told her they did not think the school was for her. I then called to find out why the run around and why were they misleading her and hindering her education. Igt is hard enough to to get back to school and encountering barriers and then the program is now making excuses. When I called I spoke to a lady she told me she would have to interview again ( ridiculous) I told her fine , when she then said well can she come in today. I confirmed with my daughter in law she went and they for nothing for them to tell her she cant participate. My daughter in law was a poster child for that program. She was disappointed after she had built herself and waited so long and feeling discouraged. I call and ashe dto speak with the administrator Andrew rubenstein, I explained and he told me what do you want from me she is not accepted. While I was speaking to him he hung up ... I was nopt sure if the disconnected I called back and I asked him were we disconnected or did you hang up on me he said he hung up on me becasue he did not like me tone ( I was at work and was speaking in a low proffesional tone) I said that was unacceptable he yelled at me and hung up. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND THIS PROGRAM !
Grace Outreach provides women with support, motivation, and skills they need to achieve financial independence through education. Grace Outreach understands that many women who have faced obstacles to completing their high school education have the desire, ability and resilience needed to move ahead, and GO is there with the tools to help them do it.
Grace Outreach reaches across to women in the Bronx who want to re-start their educational path. The organization is successful in all 3 areas of its work -- GED. College, and Career. GO is a place of inspiration, hope and positive energy, as well as a place where concrete, measurable work gets done every day. We are proud that over 850 women have earned their GED diploma with us, and that hundreds of these grads have gone on to college and a better career spot.
Grace Outreach provides GED prep, college prep, and career prep to women ages 18 and over. The GED classes are separated by academic level and each student's schedule is individualized as much as possible. Each of the three teachers specializes in different subject areas and/ or levels. The students rotate amongst the classrooms and have a chance to work with all teachers and tutors. The tutors are graduates of the program who not only help out in classes, but run classes, hold tutoring sessions, and serve as role models. Career prep classes are integrated into the schedule. Every student takes part in these classes, attends career fairs, and participates in activities planned by the career prep coordinator who is also available for one on one counseling sessions. Finally, the college prep program is available to women who have already earned a GED or high school diploma. Courses prepare students to take and pass the CUNY Skills Assessment and prepare them for college level assignments.
The teachers, tutors and staff of this program are phenomenal. They all take the time to get to know each individual student and to help her achieve her goals. Classrooms are dynamic and energetic, yet serious and busy. The hallway is lined with diplomas of past students, reminding each current student that her dream is within reach. The director and office staff are easily accessible and understanding.
The combination of an all women's program, the individualized schedules, and the professionally trained staff creates an environment for success!
As a positively strong force in the South Bronx community, Grace Outreach upholds the responsibility of the advancement of women whose goal is to obtain their G.E.D for a higher academic or career purpose. The quality service that is delivered by the teachers, tutors, and general administrative staff is unique and second to none. Individualized learning is the framework behind G.O's noteworthy success as a preparation program. Students not only walk away with their Diploma but also with a renewed sense of hope and confidence in their abilities and what they can accomplish. Each woman's story is different, but as a student of Grace Outreach, her aspiration is the same; that is, she will walk across the platform on the day of graduation with her head held high saying, "I did it!". To ensure this result, the students are met with an incomparable level of commitment and dedication from the staff who shares a gratifying feeling that comes from having played a role in the betterment of another .
