Grace International Inc

My first experience with this charity was as a sponsor for a 14 year old girl in their girls' orphanage. After several years of sponsorship, I finally met Mica when I traveled to Haiti as a member of a team to minister at a women's conference. On that trip, I began to see how the leaders interacted with the children and with the women of the island who had come for the conference. I was immediately struck by the amount of organization that had gone into everything and how well and happy the Haitian children and women appeared to be. All the children at the orphanage rotated jobs every week and learned to cook, take care of their rooms and clothes, and take care of a house. I came to know the Jeunes, the native pastors who are the head of the organization. Their love for everyone was so evident in everything that was done.
Over the years, Mica attended graduate school, and finally came out as a pediatric physician! I was impressed that the Jeunes find sponsorship for their older children in order to give them the tools to advance in life. Their desire was not to send them out to the streets on their own. Instead, they treat them as their own chlldren, desiring their success. Of all the organizations that offer sponsorships of children, I would recommend Grace International, because I have seen that their children become successful adults.
During the time of the earthquake, the Jeunes ended up with 20,000 dislocated persons on their property in tents. It has taken several years, but all these people have now been relocated. The Jeunes have used some of their property to build homes for many of these displaced people, which they call Grace Village.
Grace International also has a large feeding program in which they feed thousands of children on a daily basis. They have a hospital that is now in operation, as well as a widows' home and a boys' and girls' home. At Christmas time they share the gospel with 20,000 children across the island, give them a meal they won't forget, and a bag of treats and gifts. The influence of this organization is far reaching on the island of Haiti. With so many organizations that are working in Haiti, I would say that this one has the most lasting fruit and is well worth your support.

I am extremely impressed with the generosity of this organization. This is my first experience in Haiti and I am already in love. God's presence is evident everywhere. Through the smiles in these beautiful children to the giving hands of the Haitian house members. I am also very impressed with how well the homes are taken care of. The children are also taken care of very well. I love how Christ is incorporated into their curriculum. Hearing these children sing together has been the most powerful experience yet. I have loved the chance to interact with them in different ways, from creating pizzas to teaching VBS. The translators and Haitians that are at the guesthouse have ben wonderful to get to know! They have so many stories to tell/teach. I have learned so much! I am very thankful for this opportunity and I look forward to what is ahead.

Grace International is an organization that operates with integrity and love. I have been blessed to work alongside them in Haiti and I hope to work with them for years to come! I would recommend them to anyone desiring to work in Haiti

This is my third year coming to Grace International to visit the boys and girls in the homes. Each time I come I have such a rewarding experience. Those in charge of Grace International show their love for the children. I feel this especially by how they make sure that we spend time with the children and they make it a priority that we see the kids we sponsor as much as we can in the time that we are here. I have received letters in the mail from the boy that I sponsor, they have sent me information to update me about how he is doing while I'm in the states, and they sent me a picture of him at Easter in Easter clothes that they were able to buy for him with gift money from me. Grace International loves their children and takes such great care of them. I come every chance I get.

This is my first trip to Grace International in Carrefour, Haiti. My experience has been amazing. My daughter came last year and came back with many stories about the great work that Grace International is doing with the children here. I was so inspired by her stories and pictures that I had to come and see it for myself. It has been even better in person. The children here are not only being well taken care of but also receiving the love and affection needed to grow into productive, healthy adults. As a mother of 12, I know how hard it is to give each of my children the love and affection they deserve. It takes an extreme amount of effort and energy to meet the physical and emotional needs of so many children but Grace International is DOING IT!

My wife and I sponsor a child from Grace International Inc. at the Girls Home. Each year my wife prepares to go to Haiti during her summer vacation to volunteer and see our sponsored daughter. The abundant joy she has when she returns home is contagious. She is absolutely glowing with the love she has experienced while working in Haiti and it takes many weeks for her to truly "come home" since her heart is still in her Haitian Home. She literally can not stop sharing of her many exciting experiences of seeing God's hand at work at Grace. I very strongly recommend this organization!

I have been to Haiti and Grace International five times in the past four years. I support three children from the Girls and Boys Homes and cover them and Grace in prayer regularly. I highly recommend Grace International as a non-profit organization. The love I personally witness each visit from both the staff and children is amazing. I anxiously await each visit and the correspondence I receive from my sponsored children.

My first trip to Haiti and Grace International was in 2013. I have since then visited each year and support them with both my prayer and financial support. While in Haiti I was given the opportunity to help in the office which allowed me to view first hand how above reproach this organization truly operates. The love and compassion Bishop and Madame Jeune display for their children is admirable. What a blessing to be able to call Grace International and Haiti my second home! I strongly believe Grace International is a reputable nonprofit and would not hesitate to recommend others to join their mission.

I first met the jeune's in 1984 in Bradenton, Florida. Madame jeune was at a women's prayer breakfast that I attended. We connected & bonded immediately! Within two months I was on a medical missions trip to Haiti. The first of many. I have been a part of their work ever since in various capacities. I consider them as a sister & brother to me. My love and respect for them and all that they do and are is beyond measure. They truly are remarkable people! People of great love, integrity, caring faithful, always there and helpful to all. Over the years i have been with them and observed them and the ministry first hand and would more then highly recommend this ministry.I have supported this ministry over all these years, with my friendship, love, prayers and finances on a regular ongoing basis as well as having them stay in my home. Through supporting orphans, the widows home, special projects, women's conferences, my Haitian family, and what ever else i am called upon to do now and in the futre.

I am happy to write this review for Grace International and for Mr. and Mrs. Jeune. I have worked on and off with this organization since 2006 when I was living in Port-au-Prince. My experiences with them have only been positive. They provide food, shelter, and medical care to many. They operate 2 orphanages as well; both of which carry high standards. Apart from visiting while living in-country, I have accompanied several medical teams since moving back to the US. They provide comfortable lodging and provide great food. I have always felt safe while on site. They have security who patrol the compounds.
Grace International and it's staff truly care about the people they serve and the volunteers who come to help. They are providing superior and much needed services to the community and for the orphaned children in their care.

I had the opportunity to serve with Grace International in October 2013 with my church and it was truly a blessing. The work that this awesome organization is doing can be seen very clearly in the lives of the children and communities they serve daily. Through education, providing basic necessities such as food and housing, and most importantly, how they share the love of Christ while meeting the needs of the Haitian people is blessing both to those who are the receiving end as well as those who have the privilege to volunteer. It was an awesome experience.

I was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti on March 27th, 1990. At four years of age, myself, along with my younger sister Magdala, were placed into the Grace International girl’s orphanage because our mother passed away and our father didn’t live with us and was unable to take care of us.

Coming to the girls home I was very happy, very joyful because God blessed me with a new Christian family. My new Christian family gave me so much, but my favorite blessings were the opportunity to go to school and learn about God every day.
Some other blessings I quickly began to receive were my sponsors and everything they provided me with. They have provided me with all the school supplies, clothes and shoes I have needed over the years. Some other very special things they have provided me with is bilingual bible and special birthday presents. I have been so blessed by my sponsors and pray God would give back to them what they have given to me.
I went to primary school at Grace International and am currently attending my last year of high school at NCFCH in Carrefour, Haiti which is where I learned the english I know. The cost of this final year of schooling is $400 US.
I am very, very very happy to be finishing high school because this is something I’ve always wanted, something I’ve been working so hard for. It makes my heart so happy to know I finally am finishing so I can begin university to become a dentist!

Partnering with Grace International has personally changed my life for the better. I have never worked with such a wonderful organization, whose accountability and passion for serving their community is the best I have seen. It has been 5 years since I first volunteered/donated to Grace International, and what started as mere volunteer work has formed into a long lasting partnership and friendship. I look forward to the many years that we will continue to serve together.

As a volunteer for Grace International, I was able to see first hand the work they did for their community. The experience I had there I will never forget. The love of God radiates through this place. I am very careful about which organizations I donate to. I can honestly say Grace International makes a real difference in the community. The staff there have hearts for God and the children they serve are blessed through them.

From the first time that I met Bishop Joel Jeune and Pastor Doris Jeune, I could feel the love of God so strong all around. The love that they show for the people of Haiti is filled with the compassion of God. All their missionary work is done with integrity, loyalty and Godly values. To God be the glory.

I am now attending the Julien Craan University in Port-Au-Prince. I am currently attending my second year of university and need four years to complete my degree in Business Management. The cost of schooling for me this year is $5,000 US.
After receiving this degree in Business Management I want to open my own clothing and accessories shop because I love the idea of fashion and giving people the opportunity to wear things they enjoy. Opening my own business means I will be able to provide for myself and the children I know that need to be provided for.
I want to thank my sponsors who have supported me over the years. It is because of them I got the opportunity to go to school all the years I have. It is because of them I am being successful in life and it is because of them I know the true meaning of God’s love, because they’ve shown it to me all these years.

I was born in Jacmel, Haiti on October 8th, 1987. I was placed into the Girls Home orphanage when I was six years old because my mother was mentally sick and passed away.

When I came to the Girls Home I was so happy, filled with joy because I found people to be my new father, my new mother and my new family. They took me in as their own and loved me, fed me, clothed me, put me in school and shared Jesus with me which is most important.
Some other people that also took me in as their own are all of my sponsors in the past years since arriving here- They’ve supported me with so much love by giving me gifts on my birthday (which always makes me happy), money to go through school and the love of Jesus. I pray God blesses them as they have blessed my life in so many ways.
I am grateful for them because they helped pay for my schooling which is so important to me. I went to primary school at Grace Intl and attended secondary school at Centre d’etude Lumiere in Carrefour, which is where I learned most of my english. Now I am currently in my third year of university school at Julien Craan University in Port-Au-Prince. I need four years to complete my degree in Business Management. The cost of schooling for me this year is $5,000 US.
When I finish schooling and receive my degree I want to open my own restaurant in Jacmel, Haiti because I was born in Jacmel and I want to give back to those in my city. Doing this, I will be able to provide for myself and those families I know who need help which is what I want most, to help those I’ve been entrusted with.

When I first came to the girls home I was sad because I missed my mother and knew I would never get to see her again here on earth. I also missed my father back home and wanted to go see him. After being here for a little while, though, I began making friends and we would play with me. I received so much love and care from the people that work here at the Girls Home, I felt so blessed. This all made me very happy and filled with so much joy. I was also so happy because I was able to go to school which is something I really love and enjoy!
I went to primary school at Grace International and attended high school in Carrefour at Centre d’etude Lumiere which is where I learned some of my english. I am also continuing to learn english from all the missionaries that come here to where I live at the Girls Home. I love when they come because when they talk to me, I learn new words I did not know before. Then, I go into my room and study those words so I know I will not forget them. I am currently attending my fourth year of medical school in Port-Au-Prince at the University of Quisqueya. I need seven years to complete my pediatric doctorate’s degree. I currently have this upcoming year paid for, and I want to thank my sponsors so much for that. However, I am in need for more sponsors to help pay for my last three years of schooling. The cost for one year of schooling is $8,000 US.
After I finish schooling I will be a pediatric doctor which I am very excited for. I love children, babies in particular and I don’t like seeing them sick, knowing they’re going to die. I feel so strongly I need to be a pediatric doctor to help these babies who are malnourished to regain their health so they can live a strong, healthy life. It makes me so joyful knowing I get to help these babies become healthy and live. For these reasons, I am very excited to finish my degree!
I want to take the time and thank all of my sponsors because they are the reason I was able to go to school. They are the reason I am currently going to University, it is because of them I am successful. Over the years they have provided me with love, support, food, clothes, school supplies and everything else I’ve needed since coming here. I am so grateful for all of them and I pray for them every day that God would bless them and provide for them as they have provided for me.

I was born in Cap-Haitian, Haiti on January 3rd, 1989. At age 2 I was placed into the Grace International girls home because my parents passed away and my other family members could not take care of me.

When I first came to the girls home I was so happy because of the love I received from everyone. I received a new mother and father and was able to play with all the other girls here. I have been so blessed by everyone here and I love them every much.
I am grateful for all my sponsors over the years because they are the reason I was able to go to school all the years I have. They provided me with the funding, the school supplies and everything else I’ve needed since arriving here. I went to primary school at Grace International and attended high school in Carrefour at Centre d’etude Lumiere. After finishing high school I attended university at the University of Adventist of Haiti and have my degree in Business Management.
Now that I am finished with school, I want to open my own clothing store for people of all ages to help my country in the world of fashion. I want to use this income from my clothing store to help the development of my country- children on the street that need to school and the widows home here at Grace.
I am so excited to start this business so I can begin to help those I know need help!

I stayed at Grace Village and saw first hand the great work that Grace international is doing. I really enjoyed cooking with the ladies at the Lord's kitchen and serving the children and playing with them! Everyone was super welcoming and helpful! We sponsor 2 children and know God is doing amazing things through Grace international.

Our church is currently in our third year of working with Grace as we provide a hand up to those in Haiti following the earthquake. Grace far exceeds many other charities that I have worked with in the past. They truly have a mission for helping others to help themselves. I have been familiar with Grace International which is located with it main campus in Carrefour Haiti for the past 20 years. My husband and I started being a part of bringing Christmas Parties with toys to Haiti.
Dr. Joel and Doris Jeune oversee this organization for over 42 years. They are honest, wonderful Christian people with great compassion and works to help the whole nation. It is refreshing to find people who are really upright and honest in all that they do especially in helping the orphans. They have 5 orphanages, 3 that they directly run and 2 that they oversee. They have 75 schools, 230 churches, a hospital , clinic and widows home.
I highly recommend Grace International if you are interesting in investing in,working with, and or visiting an upright organization in Haiti. My husband and I became volunteers for Grace in 1999 and joined the Board six years ago When my husband passed two years ago, I continued as a volunteer and Board Member. We accepted a sponsorship of two young ladies at the Grace Girl's Home, and after the 2010 earthquake, we tried twice, unsuccessfully, to bring them to the United States. We decided that if we could not bring them to be with us, that we would do what we could to make life as pleasant as possible for them in Haiti.
The fact that Grace is a Haitian run organization with a 40 year history of success, is a source of pride to me. Grace has received accreditation by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (No small feat!) and in 2013 Grace reported management expenses of 6%, fundraising expenses of 4% and Program Service expenses of 90%. These are notable numbers and I am happy to tell potential donors that they can be assured the money they give will go to the project they designate.
Their money will also be tax deductable as Grace Intl., Inc is a 501 (C) (3) corporation.
The Grace Objective is to Rescue, Relieve and Restore by providing spiritual guidance, health care, education, homes for the orphans and elderly widows, feeding programs and empowered living to those in need within their reach. Grace was founded in 1972 in Haiti by Dr. Joel Jeune and his wife Doris. Grace in Haiti now oversees 270 Christian Churches, 65 elementary schools, 3 orphanages, a medical clinic, a pediatric Hospital and a home for elderly widows. Grace Village in Carrefour, a suburb of Port au Prince, is the 20 acre site of the Grace Hospital and Medical Clinic, the Girls Home with 48 residents, the 5,000 member Lamentin Church, an elementary school and a Girl's Transitional Home which is now over half-way completed. Three miles away is the Grace Boy's Home with 49 residents, the widow's home and the Waney Church with 4,000 members. The Sunshine Home for boys and girls is located in Petionville, another suburb of Port au Prince. It is run by Mme Doris Jeune's mother with the help of Grace Intl.
After the 2010 earthquake, Grace Village became the site of the second largest tent camp in the Port au Prince area with 25,000 refugees. Doctors Without Borders for over one year used the Grace Village Hospital building (which had been built to California earthquake specifications) for their hospital. The "Lord's Kitchen" was set up near the tent city to help feed the tent city children. Local government granted Grace Intl. 6 acres of land in the Lambi Community, approximately 5 miles away. Grace then partnered with the Fuller Center for Housing, a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2005 by Millard and Linda Fuller, who are also the founders of Habitat for Humanity Intl. At Lambi, the first 56 homes have been built with the help of volunteer work teams and the prospective owners. These new owners also receive help starting and growing small enterprises including a Cyber Cafe and empowerment education in the Community Center, plastic recycling, ethanol distribution for cook stoves, livestock and chicken raising and small scale farming.
In the three Grace Orphanages, all children attend school. In Haiti, school is not free, and the costs involved are met by Grace with the help of sponsors and friends. When the young people are ready for higher education, either at a university or trade school, it is the sponsors who, when able, assist with making higher education possible. Fortunately, Grace does have some sponsors who are able to financially assist with the cost of a post-secondary school. Grace is proud to have now graduated a medical doctor, a registered nurse, a high school science teacher and several business majors. These are young people who are now working to make Haiti a better place to live.
Presently, we have at the Grace Orphanages in Haiti, six young people who are financially sponsored to attend a university or trade school. One is in her third year of a seven year course in Medical School, three are in Business Management at a university, one is starting his second year of Dental School and one is attending a university to become a teacher.
Unfortunately, each year we have several young people who qualify to attend a university or trade school but there is no financial assistance available for them. A job I have taken on as a volunteer for Grace is to look for funding for the young people who do not have the financial support to attend a post secondary school. I would welcome any suggestions one might have to help us in this project for educational funding.
