Well folks, this has been at a fast pace for all involved at GPS Ministry since my last review. The need within our community has grown; funding has tightened ; our volunteer matrix has shrank, forcing a reduction in days open to the public. Our most stalwart and stabilizing force at GPS, is our CEO, PJ. Her determination, knowledge, true caring and deep faith in our mission is inspiring. Having been volunteering at GPS I have come to the realization that, here we are sharing blessing more than a simply giving a helping hand. I believe all blessing given; are returned 10 fold; all who support GPS Ministry are a very special blessing. With continuing support from our many donors; we may all have another blessed year.
Brought me to meet PJ at the GPS Ministries, I was so impressed by her that I knew that I want to become a volunteer to help her and the GPS Ministry.
I have watched her interaction with the clients I have seen her pray with them, care for them and help with there needs always putting there need first.
PJ works hard at the food pantry/ministry it is hard to even get her to take a lunch.
I feel that Quincy is bless to have someone like her to go to when things are hard.
Our life's are hard we are living in stressful times, it is so wonderful to be able to go to someone like PJ and the ministry that she service.
i love gps and pj she greets you with a smile and is a very big help
i struggle alot i work but still cant afford groceries pj has been a big help
GPS ministries is the work of God. Not only do they help with food, but they teach life skills, they have programs for kids and adults. They truly care about each person that comes through the door. I am a past board member. You will not find a more loving and devoted person like PJ.
I am a volunteer at GPS Ministries. My eyes and heart have been opened to the various things that GPS Ministries does in the Quincy community. I've witnessed the love and support that is poured out when individuals come in for a helping hand. They are led and directed to do what is truly needed in each individual case. A great deal of time and effort goes into making GPS Ministries all that it was meant to be. My time there is truly been a blessing, and I am open for what the Lord has in store for the future.
I am a new volunteer at GPS Ministries. I have seen a true genuineness that this ministry, and the individuals that are involved, have for those who are going through difficult times. They give a great deal of themselves to accomplish what they can in each individual situation. They are very appreciative of the donations whether it be food , financial support, etc. that they receive to accomplish what's in their heart to do. I'm blessed to be a part of this ministry. Brenda
This was more help than I expected. I didn't know walking in that door was going to make me feel so loved. Truly amazing people on the other side
Of that door with huge hearts. Didn't feel rushed or a burden, I felt like I was meant to be there in that day and at that time. Thank you for the help, love, support and acceptance. Will definitely pay the love forward ❤️
I want to send a big shout out to pj at gps, I have been blessed enough to get to know her and her organization. She has helped me and my fiance and I've never felt judged walking in her doors. I can't wait to send my daughter to her events!! Thanks again pj. You're doing great!!
I am the type of person that does not like to ask for help due to the fact o how people judge you when you do. GPS Ministries in Quincy Illinois is amazing. I felt comfortable, loved, care for and did not feel judged from the moment i went through that door. They helped me when i could barely help me and my family and would recommend them to ANYONE that needs help by feels the way i do about asking for help. P.J you are an amazing woman. God bless you
I am shocked that Pastor Greg and PJ followed their hearts and God in opening GPS, to meet the needs of those in need whom they pour themselves into by sharing the Word and their hearts. Even on a lunch trip if they see kids pooling their pennies to share one cone- they stop to buy them EACH a cone. The impact these two people and the volunteers at GPS (Gods People Serving) has on the community may often go unnoticed, by all but those they serve. I pray more people pledge their support or volunteer.
I was going through a rough month and had been gone ffrom my child and home for the entire month when i returned and was home with my baby i was not prepared food wise. I had been takin off food stamps and medical due to my job amd had been struggling with bills. Thanks to gps i had pleanty to get me and my babygirl thru the month till i get caught up and it helped tremendously on short notice they were there to help. Verythankful for such kind caring people.
This is a God first organization. GPS is a great non-profit organization that is a ministry first and foremost. I have seen and heard how lives have been changed by the power of prayer. PJ listens to the clients and fills the food and personal care needs, and she also prays for those who ask for prayer. A lot of people do not realize how many facets there are to this organization, and the impact it has to this community. GPS provides the food pantry, personal care items, children programs, job skills program and case management for each individual that needs our services.
I recently heard of GPS and PJ. I went in to meet her. She is a blessing to be around. She's is always serving people who need help. I had volunteered with her. I watched how she was with her clients. Her clients are always made welcome as soon as they come in the door. I think what I like most is how it's only about the clients. I can't even begin to say enough about GPS and PJ. Thank you for all you do to help the people in need.
As a person serviced by this establishment, I can honestly say that they've helped me exponentially. The staff are fun and welcoming, the services they offer are both helpful and assorted. They've helped me in my time of need and I am thoroughly grateful.
My wife and I have always been pleased with the level of service and dedication GPS shows for those who need food assistance. Far from a stop to pick up some meals, PJ engaged my wife cordially every time she stopped in and made an uncommonly remarkable impression. When my wife offered to volunteer and told me PJ could use someone with my skills, I jumped at the prospect of being able to not only give back but further what PJ and GPS Ministries do.
Instead of being a place to drop in and donate a few hours, the culture here makes it so that even when we're not present we're still trying to find ways to help GPS. There is no question in my mind that my wife and I are dedicated to the cause not only because we ourselves have been in need and been helped, but because PJ is such an enthusiastic, efficient, and empathetic individual,
Being on this side of the desk has been an uplifting and educating experience. PJ cares for each client and grants them rights that often go unnoticed in other similar venues: privacy, respect, and friendliness.
I love the fact that it is appointment only so that you have privacy and if need counseling or prayers. GPS ministries truly is a blessing for the community
gps was very helpful for me with groceries personal hygiene items and prayers. they make you feel like family.
I am posting this review again because somehow I didn't get my name in there. As a board member I am constantly challenged by the leadership of GPS Ministries to be involved and to contribute in the process of carrying out the mission statement which is working to better lives and build relationships through non-judgmental love and support in the community. There's no skipping out of responsibilities in this non-profit, you're either in or out. That's accountability which is something that this world needs more of.

I came to know about GPS Ministeries through a family member. When I spoke with PJ about my life crisis, she offered prayers and support in a non judgemental environment. I support the fact that the services provided are Christian based. This community needs more God, acceptance and praise like GPS offers. God Bless. PJ, your ministry is in my prayers. Thank you for everything.
