Causes: Interdisciplinary Research
Mission: The government financial strategies institute is a non profit public benefit corporation dedicated to assisting public agencies through research. Its research will benefit public agencies by identifying practical methods to increase efficiency, reduce costs and be good stewards of public funds.
Programs: No activities during the current year, previously hosted a colloquium "america:built by bonds or bilked by bonds". The topic of the colloquium involves "black box" bond issuances that in many cases do not provide meaningful funding for public uses and serve little function other than to generate commissions. The organization is currently planning a colloquim for the current year. The funding received in prior years will be used to fund the event.
