Working here has caused my mental health to decline because of the sheer amount of stress. There is this overwhelming sense of "everyone for themselves" as every employee is just looking for a way to suck up to management. Promotions aren't based on merit, but rather on connections and if you are friends with management. Goodwill also loves micromanagement and practically stalking their employees in the name of profit. They consistently show that they do not care about anything but how much money they make. For a supposed nonprofit, they seem to do everything in their power to maximize profit, even if that means compromising on the well-being of their employees. The people working at Goodwill don't even have an ounce of goodwill in them. Don't support this place and instead find charities that actually care about the poor.

Mission: Goodwill of silicon valley's mission is to support our employees, our customers and people with challenging barriers to employment: to raise their standard of living and improve their lives through our services and social enterprise.
Programs: Retail programs: cost effective social enterprise for collection, processing and sales of used goods, providing paid work experience and job skills training for people with challenging and severe barriers to employment. This cost effective business provides opportunities for people disconnected from the workforce and, because of the nature of the business it promotes goodwill of silicon valley green initiative diverting 38. 5 million lbs of trash from our landfills annually.
mission services: adult programs - serving individuals with barriers to employment through programs that provide case management, job coaching, peer mentoring, paid work experience, employability workshops, vocational training and job search and placement services. Youth programs: on-campus at 4 high schools, goodwill serves students that are at-risk of not completing high school and/or receiving their diploma. The programs provide a safe environment, academic learning, credit recovery, enrichment activities and a hot meal. Total people receiving services from goodwill in 2017 was 17,643.
