Mission: The mission of Goodwill of North Georgia is to put people to work. We provide job training and employment services to people who are having trouble finding work because of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities; poverty; lack of work experience and marketable skills; substance abuse; ex-offender status and a variety of other reasons. We also serve people who want to start or grow their own business. Through our vast array of programs and services we are able to serve thousands of North Georgians every year. We sell donated clothing, books, furniture and household goods in stores across North Georgia and the proceeds help fund our mission. Since 1925, your donations have been helping to change lives.
I have been a thrift store shopper all my life and I am 45 years old. I am from NYC but I currently live in Cobb County and I am a resident of Marietta Georgia.
I was pleased to find so many Goodwill locations in my surrounding area but displeased with their prices and the manner of how they price mark the items. If the item is a brand that the employees know is high end they mark the price up extremely high. The clothing is priced starting at $7 and up and this is before taxes. There is no consistency with their pricing as I have found two identical items mark with different prices.
At this time I no longer afford to shop at the GW. I have resumed my yard and estate sale shopping instead.
