Causes: Human Services
Mission: Goodwill provides work and training programs that empower youth, adults and seniors to achieve their greatest potential. Goodwill helps people who have disabilities, disadvantages or need to enhance skills to find a better job.
Programs: Donated goods: the organization operates retail-type thrift stores and collection centers that process and sell donated goods such as clothing, shoes, toys, home wares, and various other items. Nearly all donated goods that are not sold to the public within a reasonable time are gathered and sold to third party companies on a per pound basis. These companies then recycle or re-use these items. Both of these operations provide funding to support the mission based programs of the organization and its related organization to help people with barriers to success to get back to work and gain greater independence.
commercial services: through commercial services operations the organization is able to employ individuals with mental and physical disabilities, as well as other barriers to employment, to provide outsourcing solutions to third party companies and organizations. Work includes janitorial services, manufacturing and/or packaging products and other work as needed. Revenue generated supports the organization's mission programs.
