This organization continues to amaze me with each passing event. The number of kiddos that are outfitted with new shoes, socks and dental kits usually surpasses 400 and this is done in a few short hours. Volunteers are inspired by the co-founders at each event.
It has, by far, the most efficient processes in place to address any need that may come up. Safety for the kiddos is first and foremost. Challenging the kiddos to empower themselves and preparing for the future is a goal that every adult should conquer when working with them. The smiles on these children when they have proper fitting shoes that they picked out on their own is contagious.
The back breaking work and efforts of this skeleton staff of four is to be commended for everything that they have done and continue to accomplish year after year.
What better way to give back to the community then helping bring smiles to the children in our Community with a new pair of shoes.
Goodie Two Shoes truly makes a difference in our community one child at a time.
First time volunteering for this organization, and it's easily my favorite one. Helping the kids pick out sneakers that fit their needs and taste was really wonderful. GTSF had a good variety of shoes to choose from. I'm glad the kids got to voice their opinions on what colors and styles they liked, and that they got to take home a new pair of shoes, socks, and dental kit. Kids are our future, and I was thankful to be able to invest time supporting them.
I am an intern at Goodie Two Shoes and, so far, I enjoy working with them. I enjoy seeing how happy the kids are when they receive shoes.
To whom it may concern,
I'd like to mention how much I enjoyed volunteering with your foundation.
It stirred up so many emotional feelings from my own childhood, of unable to own a new pair of shoes and other items, to start school in. I wish they had your organization back then.
I know this Foundation is allowing our now generation to Believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel and this would give them the motivation to pursue their DREAMS and GOALS, because they know there are good people out there who care!
Thank you for the Opportunity to be part of their lives!
Have a great day1
Luv, Karen Morgan SWA
For almost a year, I have been following this organization by reading about them on their website, talking to other volunteers and finally, volunteering. This is an outstanding organization, that I am proud to be a part. Their mission statement holds true, and I have watched the commitments of all their volunteers. The kiddos who get new shoes are excited at the variety they are offered; claim they can run faster and jump higher than before and best of all; at the end, they smile and laugh with their friends and classmates.
GTSF's behind the scenes processes are exceptional. I've never seen a non-profit that operates as smoothly and efficiently as this one does. All the tasks are assigned, and contingencies are well thought out. This affords the events to operate as effortlessly as it is necessary knowing approximately 400 kiddos per event will be taken care of in the course of a few short hours.
I wish the founders Nikki and Tony Berti the best of luck with many, many years ahead.
My experience with Goodie Two Shoes has been amazing they are such an amazing team that want to get out there and help the community. Their whole goal is to give these kids a choice they can make completely on their own, which is so loving. They want to ensure that everyone has an option even in hard situations that may be hard on children's minds, and well-being. Although they cannot do everything the little they do truly impacts people's lives.
My experience at Goodie Two-Shoes Foundation has been the best, they are so well ordered! Goodie Two-Shoes Foundation is such an amazing organization! They make sure every child has a choice when picking out their new shoes. These people are so kind and compassionate. The look on a child's face when looking at their new shoes and socks is so warm and lovely. I highly recommend volunteering or showing support for the Goodie Two-Shoes foundation. They are so loving and caring for these children!
I've been honored to volunteer/intern with the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children in need with new shoes and socks. They are very well organized and prepared to handle anything, ensuring that every child they serve has a positive experience. Their journey to give back to children is amazing and really shows their love for the community they’ve built. Goodie Two Shoes doesn't just hand out shoes—they create an empowering experience for the children, allowing them to select their own new pair. Seeing the smiles in photos, in person and the choices on a child's face is just beautiful. I was once that child, and I still remember those moments, as we hope these children will too. Something as small as shoes can have such a significant impact on a child’s life, providing comfort, confidence, and much more. Often not fully appreciated but to these kids the opposite. I encourage everyone to volunteer and learn more about this amazing nonprofit organization. Help empower these kids and be another "two shoes" taking a step forward. Whether it's through donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every little bit helps to ensure that no child goes without something as basic yet essential as a good pair of shoes.
I have been honored to volunteer with Goodie Two Shoes for over 20 years... this organization is AMAZING! Nikki & Tony started this because they wanted to give back to our community and WOW! have they, they truly do care about the kids in our valley and created something that has grown from the first year of 225 shoes given to now giving shoes to approx 500 kids each week during the school year! To see kids come to the event with shoes that are way to small, with holes in them and then help them pick out their choice of brand new properly fitting shoes, socks and dental kits and to see the HUGE SMILES and thank you's they give is something that lasts with you forever. This nonprofit truly is GREAT!
My participation in the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation stems from being an intern within the nonprofit. It strives to provide disadvantaged children and children in crisis with new shoes, socks, and other items deemed essential for good health and positive development.
We are involved with our community and primarily serve children from CCSD grades K-12. We actively communicate and help bring children new shoes, socks, and hygiene products to benefit their community. Our duties span from stocking the shoe racks to taking the children to pick their shoes without placing any pressure on them specifically - we want the children to choose their shoes - as a freedom of choice, we make sure it will fix them perfectly. In the duration of time, I’ve met students of many backgrounds, ethnicities, and needs, but share the spirit of childhood.
For instance, there was this particular moment when I assisted a boy who had recently two weeks prior arrived from Cuba as an immigrant and knew no English - this is how I crossed paths with the boy; I was the only one who spoke Spanish speaker available at the time and could help him. Throughout our interactions, he explained the hardships of coming to a new country but was excited to attend school. But, once we found the perfect shoe, I couldn’t even begin to describe the smile on his face and the excitement in his voice - he was very grateful. He became my reminder that this civic engagement indeed carries an impact that took the form of his smile.
I highly recommend that individuals participate in this nonprofit organization to bring a smile to a child.
I have volunteered with Goodie Two Shoes for the past three years, and the organization has taught me many valuable skills. For the most part, volunteers shop with students to help each child choose a pair of shoes that they want. Seeing how happy the kids are after receiving their new pair of shoes is why Goodie Two Shoes continues to provide to the community. Being able to help kids pick out their brand-new pair of shoes makes the process very personal. I often ask kids about their hobbies or favorite colors to learn more about them and their styles. The process becomes very unique, and I often share stories about myself to connect with the children. The owners, Nikki and Tony, have created a great organization that allows us to help and bond with the children within our community. I enjoy volunteering with them, and I recommend it to anyone wanting to make an impact within our community!
Goodie Two Shoes is an incredible organization that has shown their devotion to the community for over a decade! Volunteers are assigned different duties that contribute to creating an efficient, easy, and fast environment for the children to be assisted on the journey to receiving a new pair of shoes. Every time I volunteer with the organization, I am able to witness the positivity and changes made for the children. Nikki and Tony have continuously displayed their passion for the craft, and they treat all the volunteers and children like family!!
I always look forward to volunteering with Goodie Two Shoes. The elementary and middle school distributions are extremely organized and welcoming. Interacting with the students at the events is what motives me to continue volunteering with them. I appreciate the hard work that Nikki and Tony have done over the years for this organization and I will continue to volunteer at the events in the future!
I personally look forward to assist and volunteer with Goodie Two Shoes Foundation anyway possible I can. This organization not only bring the community together but orchestrate every event and distribution flawlessly, leaving each volunteer wanting to do more and to stay involved. The faces of the kiddos are priceless and to hear their own personal stories and all they wish to do with their new shoes is truly inspiring.

My story with Goodie Two Shoes started as building volunteering hours, after 8 years has become building a stronger community, assisting our new generation & making a difference. GTSF supports a very much needed group of young individuals providing shoes, socks and hygiene products, so they feel confident when attending school. Our generous partners are involved in many stages from fundraising, sponsoring events and providing volunteers to execute the final distribution to our community children's. We are one big family at GTSF, come and join us!
This is the most efficient and effective nonprofit organization I've ever worked with. From their operations, to distributions, they make sure every dollar donated is handled responsibly and is put toward the elements of their mission that will do the most good.
As a volunteer, I am constantly amazed at how quickly they can get new shoes on 450 kids over the course of about three hours. When I take time away from the office to help at a distribution, I know that time is well spent.
I was at a GOODIE TWO SHOES event at an elementary school. All the kids were so excited to be getting new shoes. As a volunteer, I would be assigned several students to help them find the shoes of their choice. One student I helped was so quiet and really didn’t seem to want to pick out a pair. She wouldn’t speak, just nod her head. As we walked around , I kept trying to get her to try on some shoes, she was big for her age and her feet were big, too. I steered her towards the boys sizes. I wasn’t sure how she would react, but we actually found a generic shoe that fit her. When I asked her if she wanted them, she nodded her head, yes! We proceeded through check out. She still has said nothing to me. As I was walking her towards her class line, she looked up at me with tears in her eyes and whispered “thank you”! I told her she was welcome and walked away with tears in my eyes! Thanks to GOODIE TWO SHOWS, this child made a connection with someone who cared about her. That for me is the reason I volunteer and I thank GOIDIE TWO SHOES for this opportunity.

One day this past winter I was scheduled to help at a distribution site on the UNLV campus. It was such a cold day. The wind was blowing really hard and the sky was overcast and dark. It was definitely a Rain or Shine Day! (Goody Two Shoes NEVER canceled a distribution. When
they tell the kids they'll be there, they are)! This particular day was in the middle of the March Madness Basketball Tournament. Not only were the kids treated to new shoes, but the cheerleaders and bands from the Mountain West colleges were there, too. Even the school Mascots showed up. The cheerleaders had the kids doing routines with their pom-poms, the band members were showing them their instruments up close, it was just amazing. In addition to shoes, the kids got t-shirts, backpacks, stick on tattoos, lanyards, etc. from the Mountain West Schools. Needless to say, no one was even concerned with the cold. And in addition to all of that, the kids were invited to a UNLV basketball game in the Thomas and Mack right after! Such a fun time for everyone. This organization goes over the top for KIDS! That is why I love volunteering with them.
Volunteering comes from the heart and when I first volunteered for the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, I realized what huge hearts co-founders Nikki and Tony have. They make everyone feel like family and trickles down to everyone involved. From the first day of being a part of their Heart & Sole event, I was hooked. Deciding to be a part of the shoe distributions was even better. Being able to see all these children smile because they got to pick a brand new pair of shoes is well worth volunteering.
I've had the incredible privilege of dedicating almost a year of my time to volunteer with the exceptional Goodie Two Shoes foundation, and I am blown away by their work! The boundless dedication and unwavering assistance they provide to the children in the Las Vegas community are beyond measure. The individuals steering this foundation are not just nice; they epitomize kindness, coolness, and generosity in the most remarkable way imaginable. For anyone seeking a place to volunteer or contribute financially, I wholeheartedly endorse Goodie Two Shoes. Undoubtedly, they stand as a pillar of excellence!
I am Pamela Humes and I was a volunteer representing Dr.Fish Spa. I had a great experience. I liked how everything moved along smoothly and was very organized. I really liked the set up. The kids were measured with their socks in hand when they came to me(the volunteer). The kids were so excited. The child I was working with was introduced to me and we started our adventure in the cool mobile shoe store. I had a seven year old girl and she found a pair of light up shoes and she was so happy gave me a hug and danced around in the shoes all the way to check out!
A well organized and efficient organization. Time flies while volunteering and working with kids to pick out their pair of shoes. Easy to keep coming back every week.
This is such a great "feel-good" organization and I love being able to volunteer here!! Everything is SO WELL organized and everyone is so kind. Keep up the good work you do!!
The organization does one thing and does that one thing very well. The smiles on the kids faces gives one all the reason needed to be a part of this well oiled machine.
Thank you Goodie two Shoes..
This is a wonderful organization, in fact my whole family has volunteered with them for many years now. You won’t find a better group of people. They truly care about making a difference for these children and go out of their way to make sure each and every child walks away from these events with a smile on their faces and brand new shoes and socks on their feet !
great volunteering place Niki the owner of goodie two shoes is a professional and personable you really feel like you are making a difference when volunteering with them and the kids they help to put a smile on their face truly warms my heart Thank you for always helping people @goodietwoshoes!! :)
GTSF is a well run organization and they are always prepared for any situation. Shoe distribution with this team always runs smoothly and there is never any hiccups.
I have had the opportunities to volunteer assisting with Sock Prep Day and a Shoe Distribution Event. It was great interacting and getting to know other volunteers during Sock Prep Day. The Shoe Distribution Event was inspiring! GTSF outfit so many children with new socks and shoes in the community. Working with the children fitting them for shoes and seeing how excited and happy they are to have something that most people take for granite as a basic need. I grow up not having these same basic needs. I remember being teased and ridiculed because of going to school with holes in my shoes and duck tape wrapped around them to hold them together because my parents couldn't afford to buy used shoes let alone new shoes. Although I was a child I understood the burden on my parents trying to provide me with the basics and how hard it was for them. Being able to outfit children with shoes and socks does so much more then make them happy, it builds the children's self-esteem and confidence and eases the parents burden and stress of not being able to provide for their children. What a difference it would have made in my life as a child to have a foundation like the Goodie Two Shoes. I am proud and honored to be a volunteer for such an important foundation that is making such an impact on so many children's lives.
I’ve volunteered with GTSF a few times now and realize how well the organization is run, so organized and they know exactly what they are doing. A major perk of volunteering is interacting with the kids, it’s a hands on experience and so rewarding. I can’t think of a better organization to be involved with and recommend it to anyone who is looking to give back. Thank you GTSF!
What a better way to give back to community. I leave GTSF feeling joyed that I was able to help the children.
Very well organized & great opportunity to pitch in for benefit of needy kids & meet new people in process
GTSF is the first nonprofit I have volunteered for. I love their mission, I love the joy you see in the eyes of the children when they choose their new shoes, and I love the enthusiasm of Tony and Nikki bringing this opportunity to at least 10,000 children a year.
I've volunteered twice with my company. Very organized and very friendly staff. I felt privileged to come and help Goodie Two Shoes because you can see and feel that everyone is there because they genuinely love helping these children.
I am Pamela Macedon-Cooper, I joined Goodie Two Shoes with my husband Gary Cooper. It is a very well run event and we are able to provide many children with shoes in a very short period of time.
My first time volunteering, it was towards the end of the day. I was paired with an adorable 5th grade boy. The shoes in his bag were a size 11 and his card said size 8. He ended up fitting a 9 but I got to know him, sports he played, hobbies. Right before getting his shoes double checked he asked me if he could keep his old shoes. I said “of course, you get to keep everything in the bag I’m just holding it for you while you try on shoes” He then said “thank you, those are my dads shoes and he died last year that’s all I have left from him” that experience is why I keep going back to volunteer with GTSFLV.
I am very fortunate to be able to be a part of an amazing non profit. Everyone is friendly, responsible, and earnest when it comes to contributing to our community. Goodie Two Shoes focusses on allowing the children to pick their own shoes based on their desires. There are dozens upon dozens of shoes for children to pick from. Everything is well organized which allows for the overall experience to be very enjoyable and rewarding for everyone.
I love volunteering for Goodie Two Shoes. Just seeing how happy the kids are after picking out a pair of badly needed shoes and the joy it brings them
makes my heart feel good.
I became involved with this nonprofit through my school and I do not regret being place in this organization one bit. I really like working with the volunteers at each event and I can see that everyone present was really excited and dedicated to finding the perfect shoes for each individual child. You can really tell that the teamwork was there between the staff and the volunteers and everyone was really kind.
The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation is an amazing foundation to donate your time or funds. I have volunteered many times either at a shoe distribution event or a fundraising event. I love what they do and how they do it. Would highly recommend volunteering with this group!

GTSF is an amazing organization! I have been volunteering with them for many years and find it awesome to impact children in a positive way. My goal was to be able to invoke some of my enthusiasm into the shoe distribution events, but I ended up getting so much more out of them. These events show you just how important it is to have the basics in order to live a healthy life. As an avid runner, the shoes are everything! So imagine these kiddos don't have a safe and healthy pair of shoes to run and play. So, GTSF swoops in and delivers so many amazing things--shoes, socks, toothbrushes, and a positive experience for the kids! I love Nikki and Tony and the entire gang--I enjoy being part of their volunteer team!
Volunteering with Goodie Two Shoes to help children receive new shoes and socks is a rewarding experience. The children can shop for their pair of fitting shoes without any restrictions on the color or design! It is wonderful to see the happy faces when they check out with new shoes. When I worked with the kids, they were very happy to have the opportunity to try on their own pair of shoes. Some of the kids were shy, but I could tell from their expressions that they were excited to have a new valuable shoe!
Goodie Two Shoes is amazing! What an organized, well-oiled machine not only at the distribution events but also in the days and weeks leading up to them. As a volunteer I feel appreciated and am excited to give my time to the cause Goodie Two Shoes promotes.
I was on the Board of Speedway Children’s Charities in Las Vegas and the grant committee chair when I first learned about Goodie Two Shoes Foundation. I was incredibly impressed by their mission and how many volunteers they had.
In 2013, I was the Executive Director of Communications for a casino and hotel in Las Vegas and wanted to create an annual giving program that the team members would feel proud to be a part of, while donating and volunteering their time. I introduced the non-profit to our General Manager at the time and he fell in love with the program once he saw in-person how it impacted children directly in our community.
From that point on, Goodie Two Shoes became an annual tradition of giving at the casino/hotel. Each year, there was a month of collecting donations, creating team member unity and excitement, as well as volunteering each year at a shoe distribution event.
I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to help and volunteer for this exceptional non-profit organization right here in my community.
I am a teacher and I’ve seen the thrilled look of students that are able to pick out their very own pair of shoes.....and then get socks to wear with them! For some of my kiddos this is the first new pair of shoes that weren’t handed down from a sibling. Goodie Two Shoes is amazing!
I have been a volunteer with Goodie Two Shoes for several years. I can say that they are the best at what they do. Giving kids some of their most basic needs in a loving and empowering way. They are so organized and run like a dream making it great for volunteers and the kids they serve.
Amazing team 100% dedicated to the community. I’ve never met people that go out of their way to make lives better for anyone they can. I have had the ability to talk to quite a few of the kids that Goodie Two Shoes has helped and it is nothing short of amazing.
I volunteered with them and it was such a great experience. Seeing the look on the kids faces when they realized that they could pick their own new shoes, probably their first new shoes in their life. They help so many kids. Great organization!
I love this organization! The empowerment given to the kids by allowing them to choose something simple, that so many of us take for granted. Not only do Nikki and Tony make such an impact on the kids and families in our community, they run a well organized shop.
This is such an amazing charity. Prior to volunteering I don't think even realized there were children who didn't have properly fitting shoes or socks. I think like most people it's something you take for granted. Also, because it's such a unique charity the children are emensly grateful. I think it's all too undervalued what a pair of shoes can do to a child's self esteem. However, I will say it's not just the kids it's everyone volunteering. Being surrounded by all of the positive energy and how great you feel after to be a part of something that so great. Such a worthy cause and I volunteer every chance I get!
This organization has been a beacon in the Las Vegas community for many years. I have had the honor of volunteering at a number of events helping children pick out a brand new pair of shoes, which was truly amazing. Prior to working with Goodie Two Shoes, I only wrote checks or dropped off toys. This was the first I time I could actually interact with a child in need. I found the events very well run and impactful for the communities they serve.
If you are truly interested in bringing a smile to a child in need, I would certainly recommend volunteering at a Goodie Two Shies event.
The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation custom fitted our 650 low SES students with grace and love. They are one of the best nonprofits by far. Very thankful for them.
My very first time volunteering with GTSF I was welcomed with open arms. The experience with the children was enough to bring me back every week, but staff and other volunteers were wonderful.
Goodie Two Shoes is an amazing non profit. I’ve worked with them as a volunteer and have also had the pleasure of working with them as a teacher at one of the schools they serviced. They provide such important services to students - not only providing them essentials such as high quality shoes and socks, but empowering them with choice (they can choose any pair of shoes that fits!) to wear something that reflects their needs and personality.
Seeing the joy in students as they go through the Goodie Two Shoes process is amazing! They are paired with a volunteer who leads them through the entire process so they can feel comfortable with the experience. The smiles on their faces as they head back to class in their brand new shoes is certainly something to support.
Hands down, the best organization in the valley! I started working with Goodie Two Shoes 14 years ago when they were just starting out and they came to my company for a sponsorship. Fast forward, my husband and I are still volunteering as often as we can. Goodie Two Shoes goes to great lengths to provide new, properly fitting shoes for students in our valley who would otherwise go without or wear shoes that were either too big or too small. With these students not getting a lot of choice in their lives, being able to choose a new pair of shoes is huge for them. I will support Goodie Two Shoes, both financially and by volunteering for as long as they keep doing what they are doing!
This organization is the most organized, fun group I have ever volunteered for. Such fun to work with other great volunteers and of course the kids
I love volunteering for Goodie Two Shoes!! The process is a well oiled machine! Getting to work 1 on 1 with the kids to pick out a new pair of shoes is so rewarding! Every kid leaves with a smile so it warms my heart!!
From the first time I volunteered with Goodie Two Shoes I was hooked. Seeing the smiles on the children’s face as they walk away in their new shoes is priceless. GTSF fills a tremendous need in the community and I can’t imagine not being a part of the weekly events!
I have been volunteering several time a year for the past few years. This is a great nonprofit that does so much for the community. It is so much fun helping a child pick out their shoes. The excitement they have when they find the right shoes and put them on is incredible! Looking forward to the upcoming school year!
To say Goodie Two Shoes is an amazing organization would be an understatement. They are one of the best ran charities I have ever volunteered with in the community. They are very organized, consistent and motivated to help as many kids as possible. The stories you hear and the interaction you get with the kids are very humbling. I love getting to volunteer with them any chance I can. Top to bottom great organization!❤️
I have attended quite a few events by Goodie Two Shoes and what an AMAZING JOB they do putting them together. The life-changing stories and all the kids they have helped is just incredible. Tony and Nikki Berti, who created this amazing charity, are two beautiful souls and have made such a huge impact on so many kids lives. Thank you for all your selfless efforts and making a difference!!
I have never heard of goodie two shoes until two years ago, when I was placed to volunteer with them. Being an intern at goodie two shoes has been amazing and being a part of the crew has been great. Helping kids pick out their shoes and seeing the exciting and smile on their face is such a good impact on their life. This nonprofit helps with more than 400 kids every distribution.
I had never heard about GTSF until about 7 years ago when my ex-boss suggested we went and helped. For whatever reason I gave it a rest for a few years but in the last two I have been very active (even earning their gold shirt that I don't think I fit in after my vacation). The organization and staff (and I don't just mean the 4 paid members) are amazing. I have not met a volunteer that I have had an issue with. Just one big team.
MORE IMPORTANTLY. The look on these kids faces when they get their new shoes is tear breaking. I am from the UK and while my parents were not rich, they were never so much in need that their kids never had a new pair of shoes. And all I see when we arrive every Friday is hand-me-downs. I have their flier on my office wall at work for a year. A very worthwhile, very well organized, and very enjoyable organization to be part of!

Found out about this charity when I worked at the Wynn 4 years ago. Loved my first time. Just did it once back then and the pain run event. Enjoyed it so much (and missed it!) I thought I would make a conscious effort to do as many this year. Just a great group of organizers and fun to mingle without a work hat on. Just an enjoyable morning out.
I volunteered with goodie two shoes when I lived in Las Vegas.
Goodie Two Shoes work for kids means a lot to me personally.
When I was a kid, I only got 1 pair of used shoes a year because that’s all my family could afford. Regardless of being a growing kid, I began and finished each year with the same used shoes. I was always afraid someone would recognize the shoes they threw away... I also had problems with my feet as an adult.
It was amazing to see all of the kids picking out their own NEW shoes!
They were so happy!!
It made Me happy too!!
Goodie Two Shoes MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Goodie Two Shoes is an amazing organization! Not only did my daughter receive brand new shoes and socks at no cost, but she also made a connection with caring people in her community. This volunteer-powered organization brings people together to wrap their love around children and truly brings the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” to life. It’s not just about shoes, it’s about showing they care!
Always great teamwork, always a great team. Through this organization you can directly see a change in a kid's life through giving them not only a good-fitting pair of shoes, but letting them decide and giving them agency, which is not very common when adults deal with kids. Life changing!
Goodie Two Shoes is incredible! They do so much good for the community. I got the chance to volunteer at a shoe distribution with my company. After seeing the look on the kids faces when they receive possibly their first ever new pair of shoes, I was hooked. I would recommend this organization to anyone looking to make a real difference in children's lives.
Having the opportunity to be a part of this organization was AMAZING!!!! They are incredibly organized, very clear on how to interact with the children and know how to make it fun for everyone. Seeing the big smiles on the children who have been empowered with picking out their own shoes was at times overwhelming. It was the most moving experience I have been part of and I can not wait to do it again this year.
What a great organization!
I got a chance to volunteer so much fun and I had an amazing time.
You can tell the staff has a real passion for helping the kids. I love to volunteer and I would highly recommend you do the same if you can. And if you don't have the time to donate what you can because it's going to a GREAT cause.
I have been volunteering for Goodie Two Shoes Foundation for close to 10 years now. I love being able to make a direct and positive impact on children in my community. The organization has always been run with efficiency, and with the kids' well-being in mind. Tony and Nikki are the most dedicated people, who have helped to improve the lives of thousands of kids through this foundation. I hope to be able to volunteer more hours in the future, but for now I am just happy to have the opportunity to make a difference in my community through Goodie Two Shoes Foundation.
This foundation lets kids pick their own sneakers, from a mobile shoe store, giving them a chance to show off their own style. They fit the children with the correct size and make sure every child has the right pair of brand new sneakers. Something some of these kids would never get a chance to have if not for Goodie Two Shoes. They also provide them with clean new sock's, something some of the kids have not seen in ages. I am blessed to be part of this foundation. Goodie Two Shoes is amazing. The smiles the kids have on their faces after they get a new pair of sock's and sneakers is heart melting.
I had never heard of Goodie Two Shoes until they came to the middle school at which I work. It's a Title I school and there are many underprivileged students there. I had students whose shoes were in such bad shape that they were actually falling apart, never mind the smell! When this amazing charity came along I recommended my students. These shoes were the first shoes they have had in a very long time. They LOVED the shoes! They were so happy and proud to have them. It gave them a real dose of self-esteem and it helped them to realize there are people in the world who care. It was a very happy day thanks to Goodie Two Shoes!!!
I've been volunteering with Goodie Two Shoes for a couple of years now, and continue to wish I could do more. The staff and volunteers are wonderful, and it is obvious how much their loving efforts are appreciated by those they serve. My heart is constantly overwhelmed by the smiles as the kids go through the process and select their own pair of brand new shoes. I know that seems so trivial to those of us who are more fortunate, but you can see the delight and a rising sense of worth as they walk away in shoes they picked out for themselves. I recently heard a grandmother thank us through tears of joy, that we can provide this experience. Yeah, I think Goodie Two Shoes deserves to be on the list of the best.

To be able to create such joy in a child by providing them with something so many of us take so very much for granted... a good pair of new shoes... gives me great satisfaction. Goodie Two Shoes makes it very easy for volunteers to do their part. You can sense the heart in the whole staff and it comes through in the smiles, fun and respect they show to those who are helping, and those who are being helped.
Goodie Two Shoes Foundation has provided a much needed service to the children of Southern Nevada. Many of us do not ever think about what it is like to be without the "simple" things in our life, like a single pair of well fitting shoes. My experience with this wonderful foundation has opened my eyes to the vast need the Las Vegas area has for such a program. Every volunteer opportunity brings many new stories, however, the one that sticks in my mind the most occured on December 23, 2008. Goodie Two Shoes Foundation was providing new shoes to children from a local shelter. The children were brought in by bus and a few of their mother's were along. I was assisting a teenage brother and sister with their shoe selection. Of course, the teenage girl found the shoes she wanted immediately and she was so excited to have new shoes just in time for Christmas. However, her brother was not as easy to please. We looked at every single pair of shoes his size, and after at least 30 minutes, he said that he just didn't want any of the shoes. I told him that we really did want him to select a new pair, however, he remained firm that he just didn't want any. I discussed this situation with Nikki Berti, and she told me that if he didn't want shoes, we could not make him take any. I then went and assisted another young child in selecting a new pair of shoes. When I was through with this other child, I noticed that my original teenage boy was still looking at the shoes. So, once again, I asked him if maybe he found a pair that he would like to try on. At this time, he asked me if his sister could pick another pair instead. When I told him that we could give one pair per child, he then said that his mother wears the same size shoe as his sister and "mom only has slippers to wear". Sure enough, mom was in the store and was wearing worn out slippers. At this point, I told Nikki about the request, when she walked over to the teenage boy and said, "We would be happy to give your mother a new pair of shoes as long as you take a pair also". It was only then that he selected the shoes he had in mind all along. What a fine, responsible young man I had standing in front of me. I was so proud of the way that Nikki and Goodie Two Shoes handled this circumstance with such professionalism and ease. More proof as to how important and necessary this foundation is.
"With a new pair of shoes, you can do anything" is quoted on a card I keep on my desk. We at the Mesquite Club of Las Vegas, Evening Chapter sure hope so. For two consectutive years, our largest fundraiser, our Holiday Craft Auction has been a huge successes with the proceeds donated to The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation. Our members have personally participated in both a shoe distribution at a local area Boys and Girls Club and also, on site, at area schools in which children receive new shoes, several new pairs of socks, as well pack-backs filled with needed school supplies. GTSF has these events very well organized. The children's feet are sized and then volunteers personally assist a child in picking our shoes that fit them properly. We have seen children coming in with shoes with the backs cut from them as they have outgrown them and children with toes curled under due to having to wearing shoes that are too small. The children arrive with their heads held down and after being treated so special by the volunteers that call them by name and let THEM pick out the style of shoes they want, (with a little bit of growing room), the children leave with their heads high and big smiles on their faces. It is truly a wonderful thing to be a part of. GTSF founders Nikki and Toni Berti are an inspiration and make the volunteers feel so very special and have all the information, training and supplies to make sure the shoe distribution is a very positive experience for everyone involved. Our members look forward to a long term relationship with Goodie Two Shoes as far as fundraising and volunteering. Connie Macauley The Mesquite Club of Las Vegas, Woman's Club 702-378-1325
I initially volunteered to work with the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation as part of the "Give a Day, Get a Day" Disney promotion. It was such an honor to work with them to provide these wonderful, deserving children with a decent pair of shoes that actually fit them. This foundation not ony serves to provide for the "felt needs" of our children but also helps to boost their self esteem. Everyone involved with the Foundation is positive and encouraging with the children and with us as volunteers. I have served with Goodie Two Shoes again since my first time and look forward to the opportunity of serving the children of Clark County with them again as much as possible.
Off the charts. That is how I would rank the effort and benefits of Goodie Two Shoes. So many children get to feel better about themselves every time they tie their shoes in the morning.Every morning the kids know that someone in the world is trying to help them feel better about who they are. Perhaps the benefit of have a new pair of shoes will lift their grade average just a little or maybe a lot at school. Perhaps the benefit of a good pair of shoes will improve their posture and health. Its is great that a few can reach so many. Keep up the great work.
Good To Shoes Foundation is one of the few charities that serve a purpose for the true meaning of service. They help not only children develop a postive attitide by empowering them with something so small as a new pair of shoes but also empowers the volunteers to want to make a change. To most people we can't stuff enough shoes into our closets, but to these children that they reach out to, it is like watching a child on Christmas morning! Nothing compares to the feeling of being involved with something so special, and the fact that it helps our local children who will in turn be our local adults someday is even more gratifing. I love how the foundation is run and more than proud and honored to be a part of it!
Goodie Two Shoes Foundation is amazing! Obviously providing shoes to kids who don't have any is a wonderful wonderful cause. . but what makes GTSF so special is all of the little details that they pay so much attention to. The kids aren't herded through a line to pick up their donated products, each child is treated individually empowering them with choice and attention. Each child selects the shoes that they WANT all the while each child is carefully fit so they receive the shoes they NEED. Organized, kind, energetic and just wonderful to work with are all phrases I have used to describe GTSF. I can't wait to work with them again!
Having been connected with the Goodie Two Shoes event for over 7 years now, I have seen from an observer's point of view just how this event impacts the children of Nevada. I know what its like not to have the coolest shoes or even a new pair of shoes that fit to go back to school wearing. During this event, each child is partnered with someone great whose only quest is to find a pair of shoes the child loves. And when they are found, you know as their eyes light up and they smile from ear to ear. Along with the shoes they receive so much more...a backbpack filled with school supplies, lunch and the individual attention that kids this age love. This organization is ran by an amazing woman and her staff is just as fabulous. The impact they have on thousands of kids every year can't be measured nor even quantified, but anyone that witnesses this, knows that these kids will remember this for a lifetime and just maybe they will turn around and do something great for someone else when they get older. Bottom line...it is an amazing organization doing a fabulous job of reaching out to those that have a need and doing it with a level of professionalism and warmth that is unmatched.
