Two stars for providing food and shelter, but at a VERY HIGH COST INTELLECTUALY AND MORALLY. I am a six month resident, three month volunteer with videos, photos, text messages and witnesses to prove or support EVERY CLAIM. First responder services are called daily, sometimes multiple times a day to address the many health issues faced by clients. The police are called at least weekly for violence or to TRESPASS a client the staff find challenging, but other than that they COVER UP as much crime and leave things unreported intentionally in an attempt to increase their reputation and ratings ensure Job Security and prevent closure or MUCH NEEDED REPLACEMENT PROGRAMS or change of management and owner/operators. Staff make their own rules, that they DO NOT follow and disregard laws. They have a strict no weapons policy, but then the ex-con CEO Jonathan Anderson walks around with a knife and has let others use it; CONFLICT OF INTERESTS- bethel cult and GNRM board member whom wanders the grounds and gives tours, Mimi Moseley owns and advertises her wine bar/brewery, while a portion of the shelter is a drug/ALCOHOL recovery program. David Schott, the convicted addict, elder abuser, and ransom kidnapper calls the shots, claiming different rooms as his own(his shared office with some colleagues that have seniority was not enough, he prints labels an claims the security room as "Schotts SPOT" and then later clears out a client Medical wing housing unit to become his own individual and NEWEST office) telling his bosses and coworkers what to do, while he openly smokes his VAPE(an item not allowed) and putting his hands on a mentally handicapped TEEN(the boys therapist called to make a complaint and seems nothing was done) as recently as 2 months ago, then having a 'holier than thou/do as I say, not as I do/HYPOCRITE attitude toward others that defend themselves against misbehaved, unattended, teens, tweens, and adult attackers or that partake in vaping. Former client turned staff James Lynch, tried to purchase a vape from a female client and when the client decided not to sell it to him, she was "NO SERVICES" kicked out for "STAFF MANIPULATION" with her five year old ward in toe. Former staff Frakie Lomeli had a brief romantic entanglement with the same prior female client. RAMPANT NEPITISM- at least four different, mostly unmarried, couples worked together as staff in the last 4 months, most having very unprofessionally met in the program or as clients. Another staff was let go after an 18 year old female client reported him and turned in his text conversations when she felt safe enough to do so after finding housing alternatives and she was not the first he had messaged and attempted to seduce with the previous client being a 21 year old female with severe handicaps, behavior problems, and drug addictions. Current staff Mary Jensen was S assaulted multiple times on film by an elderly disabled Native American man. The client repeatedly exposed his genitals and when unnoticed or ignored he poked/hit her with his genitalia, which lead to her running away crying and the same client was shortly allowed back, while others with no or less serious infractions remained 'NO SEVICES". No report was made, no police contacted for this s-crime although at least 4 senior staff, 1 programmer, and 1 guest had viewed and someone possibly copied this clip. Another client, Steven Clark Alfrey Jr. abused medication and alcohol and walked to a bench area filled with women and children and exposed himself before urinating in front of them only to not be reported to police and eventually allowed back again, while a crippled elderly woman that could not make it to the restroom is currently kicked out "no serviced" for relieving herself outdoors. Nearly the entire staff made of of convicts and addicts drunk with newly seeming power have a very my way or the highway attitude and report to no one (No grievance policy or outside oversight, only inside self reviews of incident reports that always find in their favor and at no fault while proven that they will lie to clear themselves). Multiple staff of this supposed NonProfit, tax-exempt facility continuously violating the "Johnson Amendment". FRAUDULENT, and nonstop ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES. Daily criminal activity and s-crimes. On average ~3 males masturbate in open dorms per night and even when staff are notified with proof, it goes unreported to authorities, rarely punished or even addressed. This is roughly only 1/3 of my allegations and complaints against the mission staff.
A homeless shelter is needed, but changes need to be made. I suggest the city/state/Nation/unitedWay/Habitat for humanity TAKE OVER operations because the current pushed agenda is not Humanitarian-FIRST and that is what is needed.
Just like most of the ,8 or so religious charities I have been forced to stay in while appealing disability. They take money from the gov't to house parolees and those on probation with disabled, senior and vulnerable mentally ill and house them together! This puts the legally vulnerable population at constant risk of various theft, violence and abuse. The laws need to change. If they are running a half way house for the gov't, they should be federally required to house and have the ones just out of jail(often there as a condition of parole, SEPERATELY!! We have to write our congressman now!!!
This place is taking advantage of the mentally ill. My fiancé whom I've been caring for several years is mentally ill. He was in between medication changes and his new medication was not working well. We were going to address these things with his Dr. but he was entering a mental breakdown already, not being on the correct meds. He didn't show to his appointment with his Dr on a Monday. The very next day, Tues of that week he rode his bike to the mission while I was out of the house and enrolled himself into their drug and alcohol program. He does not drink nor do drugs or drink whatsoever, this is not his issue. He is mentally ill and needs psychiatric help and meds for psychosis. They had him sign an 18 month contract with them. Giving up all his rights to talk to family, friends, leave the premises and take his very needed psychiatric medication. I have done everything to relay to these people in particular the Program Director for the men, was rude, did not care that I was telling him my fiancé is mentally ill, in a manic state, and lying about having addiction issues. He does not understand that part of his sickness is lying, manipulating, and self destructive behavior. They will not allow our family access to him. I've contacted his disability advocate who's helping him with his disability case for his mental health, I've contacted social services that told me to have a wellness check, I've left voicemails for 2 other directors of the program, and the Director of Operations with no response. I've contacted his pcp, his psychiatrist, anybody who can help me get him out of there and back home to his family, and getting him the treatment he actually needs. Without power of attorney or an advanced directive they’re making it impossible for me to bring him back home. They are stating that mentally ill people can sign themselves up and choose to not leave as their rules state. The problem with that is that’s taking advantage of the mentally ill, further it’s a drug and alcohol program. My fiancé isn’t a drug user nor a drinker. He doesn’t use nor abuse either. The New Life Recovery Program does not care that his family, me his primary care giver is telling them he's been registered under false pretenses. He has zero addiction issues, he has mental health issues. They are claiming they will get him the mental health help he needs, but I've also spoken to his clinic where he receives his mental health help, and they made very clear that the program he's in do not allow medication. They want the "users" to be drug free. I’m going to repeat this a million times he’s not an addict! He is not a user of any kind! They have a drug program and a Christian program for their clients. People can believe in whatever they choose but prayer nor Jesus is going to cure him of his mental health issues. Medication is the only thing that stabilizes him from fits of anger to suicide attempts. No one will listen to me. No one will listen to his family who knows him, whom loves him, cares about and wants him home. He is not and was not in the correct state of mind to admit himself to a place that's not going to even address his real issues. I was informed by the clinic where he receives mental health help that he is not the only mentally ill person that is in the same position in this program, and are not being treated for their mental health issues. Apparently this is their treatment and policy. Conversion therapy of sorts. Taking a mentally ill man for his word with expired identification, no social security, no birth certificate, to even provide proof of who he is and admit him on his word is ludicrous, especially when his family is clearly stating that the entire thing is fraudulent enrolling someone under drug and alcohol addiction when that is not their issue. People are donating to this place and they are abusing their power. They are taking advantage of the mentally ill , blocking this family from bringing their family member back home and getting him the help he needs. Do not trust these people, and do not donate to their cause. It's a sham! Praying I can get my fiancé out and home. Taking advantage of the mentally ill should be against the law, much like elder abuse. Lastly these people are not doctors able to diagnose mental health issues, and should not be messing with people’s medication. The medication my fiancé was taking cannot just be stopped, it must be wained off. He could be put into further psychosis. They are messing with people’s life like they are God.
