I've attended each graduation of GoodDog! Service Canines over the years, in person and on zoom, and the gratitude of the families receiving their highly trained service dogs always makes me cry. They've waited so long and hoped so much for the difference this companion is going to make in their lives that they can hardly believe how much they already love them after five days of intensive togetherness. I just have to remember to have a tissue handy.
My family could not have gone through the process service dog placement without Good Dog! Service Canines. Every step is well thought out and explained through training meetings and infographics. As a visual learner I found this very helpful!
I felt incredibly supported while creating our fundraising campaign. Writing about our sons experience was difficult for me, however, Kimberly had a easy to fill out questionnaire. She worked with us to create the best campaign possible for our son. I felt proud to share and ask for donations! With their help, our entire community is involved and interested in our sons journey to a service dog!
If you come to Good Dog! Service Canines you will be in a supportive community of families and an extremely skilled staff!
Our son was matched with Good Dog! Charlie 5 years ago and while she changed our lives immediately, it's been incredible to see the confidence Cade has now that he is in high school with Charlie by his side. Everywhere in our local town we go, everyone knows Charlie and Cade and peers are so excited to get to know and befriend them. Charlie provides the social bridge we never knew we needed for Cade and the sensory input he needs to keep his body regulated. The process for force free training and how they match their dogs to families is incredible and unique. I am so grateful to Good Dog! for all they do!

Good Dog! Autism Companions is a remarkable organization that has forever changed our family in the most amazing way. Good Dog! Charlie came home to our family in July 2017 and she immediately formed the most incredible bond with our son Cade. She has given Cade the confidence to interact with his peers and increased his self esteem and confidence in social situations. Charlie makes public outings as a family so much less stressful, her presence alone provides a sense of calm for our entire family. Charlie’s ability to provide sensory input for Cade has eliminated our need for weighted blankets and weighted vests. When Charlie started attending school with Cade we noticed a dramatic decrease in Cade’s outbursts, anxiety, and frustrations in the school setting. Charlie was able to provide the redirection and sensory needs in the school setting that allowed Cade to stay in the general education classroom longer then ever before. Good Dog!’s owners and trainers are is incredibly supportive and I always look forward to our phone calls. They are quick to answer your questions, provide support, or help with a decision. They have become part of our family. I can not imagine working with a better organization. Good Dog!’s three- tier approach to matching their dogs and families is remarkable and I truly believe it is why our bond with Charlie is so strong. Good Dog! Autism Companions will continue to change lives in extraordinary ways!
Good Dog! Service Canines does an exceptional job educating families about the benefits along with the responsibilities of having a service dog. They do such a great job partly because they understand what it's like on the receiving end. That's how they got started too - with their own service dog. Our family has an amazing companion dog from Good Dog! Service Canines and he is absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to my autistic son. We are forever grateful for the amazing work this org does in the world.

Good Dog! Autism Companions has given my family the greatest gift we've ever had on our autism journey. Our autism companion dog, Riley, has helped calm my 14 year old son with his gentle presence and bottomless patience. He's also provided my autistic 16 year old son with opportunities to take responsibility (feeding him, walking him, helping to bathe him) which is a clear source of pride and accomplishment. And as for me, Riley is now my partner-in-crime and I never feel alone, not with his sweet temperament and incredible amount of training provided by Good Dog! Autism Companions. For sure this family is better thanks to the work of this amazing nonprofit.
Good Dog! Service Canines is an amazing organization and I couldn't be prouder to be part of their Board. The work that this organization does to assist children and families is invaluable and leaves a lasting impact on the world!
To say that we are grateful for Good Dog Service Canines would be an enormous understatement. Not only has Good Dog Hope changed our sons quality of life for the better, It has improved the quality of life for our entire family. Thank you will never be enough but, THANK YOU Good Dog Service Canines!

We are another Good Dog! Family! It started the same way... a VERY informative phone conversation with Laura Sylvester. Not only is Laura the Executive Director at Good Dog! Autism Companions but she is also a mom of a son who has Autism. She wanted to know all about my son and his needs to see how she could help. Not only listening to see if my son could benefit from a Good Dog but all the resources that she knows of that could help him! Good Dog Hope is my sons forever friend! Good Dog Hope has changed our entire family for the better! The trainers/puppy raisers/breeders/donors... the list goes on, are all amazing!!! However, the part that sets this organization apart from the rest is Laura and Rick Sylvester!!! From the time the board accepts your child's application you are part of the Good Dog! Family!!!!! From helping with fundraising to making the wait not seem so long by allowing people to follow the puppies journeys to becoming service dogs! And finally supporting the families after they get their Good Dog! They also help the families form their own bonds with each other!!!
I could go on and on but I will stop and just simply say THANK YOU GOOD DOG! AUTISM COMPANIONS!!!! You have changed our son's life for the better!!!
We are currently on the matching list waiting for a service dog for my daughter. My experience so far with Good Dog! Service Canines has been amazing. Someone is always available to answer questions or assists with fund raising.
We have been so blessed and honored to be involved with the Good Dog organization and are grateful for all they do to help the world through improving the lives of our children.
Good Dog! Service Canines is one in a million. We are in the middle of our service dog journey. Our son will be matched with his dog next year. Good Dog!’s team is dedicated, kind and incredibly informed. They’ve made a very big process, less intimidating. As a family, we know how much this is going to change our son’s life— and we are grateful to Good Dog! for helping us make this world a softer place to land for Logan.
Good Dog! Connected us to our sweet service dog, Elvis. Elvis was expertly trained and matched with us so that our daughter could have more successful adventures out in the world. The organization works from a place of deep love for their purpose. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love doing this work! I love seeing the dogs empawer families and kids. Thank you to our donors and supporters for making it all pawsible!
Good Dog! Service Canines provides a life-changing service to the whole family and their ongoing support for their family teams is extra special because the founders are an autism family and bring their shared experience to all those they serve.
I’ve had a truly wonderful experience volunteering with Good Dog! Service Canines the last few years. As a volunteer puppy raiser, I’ve felt supported and valued by this organization. Being a puppy raiser has changed my life in unexplainable ways. I’ve always felt respected and enjoyed getting to know the employees while learning so much from them. Good Dog! is making an honest difference in communities across the United States and in the lives of disabled children and their families.

I’m so honored to be a puppy raiser for this amazing organization! Good dog! has taught me so much about positive training methods and attention to detail. They truly care about each and every family and dog. I’ve had the best experience raising Good Dog! Dunbar for them and can’t wait to continue raising pups in the future.
This amazing foundation has uplifted the autistic community by training, matchijg and placing the absolute best furry “buddies” for families in need of true one-to-one companionship canines for their loved ones in need. I am elevated and elated to be a part since the inception of such a phenomenon in true life changing services for children in need of that connection to allow their families to prosper in LOVE.
We have been so blessed by Good Dog! Service Canines!! The entire process from the point we decided we needed to get Naiya (our daughter) a dog all the way through graduation and beyond the support has been amazing! Luka our service dog has been the perfect addition to our family, but our family has also grown as we have been welcomed into the family of Good Dog! Rick and Laura run a program built on love and develop such an incredible atmosphere of trust! Our lives have been forever changed!
I’ve been a supporter of Good Dog for many years. The directors are very transparent regarding mission, focus, and events. Seeing families matched and changed with their service canine brings so much joy!
Our family received a source of unconditional Love. We are blessed that GoodDog Casey chose our family. She was the member of the family we didn’t know we were missing. GoodDog staff is amazing! Good Dog! Is such a wonderful organization with such a caring team of people! They are so passionate about the work they do and you can see it clearly. The level of training and care the dogs receive is outstanding. Each dog is an individual and has a unique training plan to help them succeed. The families and children are treated the same way. Each family and child is unique and they really take the time to find the perfect dog to match! I am so honored to be a trainer for Good Dog!
Good Dog is truly the greatest non profit. They work tirelessly to get dogs to kids & families with autism. The dogs they provide are life changing a for these families. I feel so lucky to be part of the amazing good dog team!
Love love love Good dog! It’s a wonderful company to work for and be apart of! I am so proud to be apart of a company that has such a wonderful reputation and does amazing things!
GoodDogs! has been wonderful to work with. From the initial phone call, to fundraising with Kimberly, and training… the entire process has been seamless with tons of communication! This nonprofit fully understands what special needs families need!
I have helped with the training of 8 Good Dogs and love the program. I love getting to do what I love while also being able to work from home. Rick and Laura do an amazing job running this program and help it feel more like a family then a job.
They consistently provide their client services in a professional, compassionate, thorough, and loving manner (plus clients include the canines); their overhead is a fraction of that of the typical nonprofit; and their dog trainers, donors, volunteers, and canine-receiving families become part of the GoodDog! family. The founders have walked the walk they are now helping their clients to navigate and their experience is an invaluable asset.

I have had the blessing to see the difference a “Good Dog” has made in my granddaughter’s life! It’s been amazing. There was an adjustment period when the dog first joined the family but, it worked right from the start and continues to refine. It has been amazing how the dog fit in with the family and home situation even the way the “Good Dog” and existing K-9 and feline family members adapted. What an incredible difference this service makes in the lives of families!
Good Dog! Service Canines is not only an incredible organization that raises the happiest, friendliest, most well trained service dogs for individuals who could really use a loving supportive, non judgmental friend,, but they have also become family. First, they love on our dogs with grace and positivity while they are in training, and then they love on us, the families, forever after that: Encouraging us, answering questions, and making sure we continue to succeed. To me, those things are priceless. We cannot imagine our life without our Luka boy. I tell everyone that I have never loved another dog the way I love this guy. Good Dog! inspired that by focusing on teaching us the importance of bonding first and foremost. Not only has Luka been here to support our little girl through a REALLY tough year, he has also supported everyone else in the family just by being his amazing self. He can't help it. It's who he is. Thank you Good Dog! team for your unfailing love and incredible dedication towards this really beautiful cause! We cannot wait to watch as more Dogs go home to live with their furever families.

We are so humbled and honored to be a part of this Good Dog! Family! I always tell people that every step of our journey has happened perfectly as it was supposed to. Learning about Good Dog! and jumping into the family was absolutely meant to be! We had the most encouraging assistance during our fundraising days, and because of that we had an incredible response and were able to raise all the money we needed to get our girl a pup!!! We are excited to announce we will be graduating with our boy in August!!! We cannot wait to meet him and love on him! Our daughter is ten years old and we are confident that this friendship will be a huge blessing for her, and our family as a whole!! ❤️ Thank you to the entire Good dog team for all you do!!!!!!!!
My decision to get Oliver a service dog was not one that I took lightly.
Telling our story, admitting the challenges that he faces and asking for help were some of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do as a mother.
Between the fundraising, matching process and handler training it took just about 2 years to bring GoodDog Cassie home to Oliver.
We’ve now had Cassie just under a year.
I can’t tell you how glad I am that she is in our lives and a part of our family.
I absolutely had my reservations after first bringing her home. I already had my hands beyond full just with Oli! How was I going to be able to handle both a special needs child and a service dog that also requires a lot of work?
I just took it one day at a time. I reached out to my GoodDog Service Canine support team and the other Super moms that we’re going through all the same growing pains as I was.
This is Oliver and GoodDog Cassie today.

Oliver was diagnosed with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder just before 3 yrs old.
Soon after that, I found GoodDog Service Canines and started fundraising for Oliver to have his very own service dog.
This was not an easy decision for me because I was bit by a dog and was in fear of getting close to one ever again.
After raising the money, getting matched and completing some online training I was off for a one week intensive bonding and training class with our dog Cassie and the GoodDog Team.
The team was all very aware of my traumatic experience and worked right by my side to help me through some very intense fear and anxiety. Cassie was like no dog I have ever met. She was so gentle and well behaved. I happily pushed through my fears with the amazing support of GoodDog because I knew that she was going to make such a positive impact in my sons life but what I didn’t expect was the impact that she would make in mine. In just 3 days I fell in love with Cassie. She helped knock down a wall of fear and anxiety towards dogs that I had spent 30 years building.
I am and forever will be so grateful to GoodDog and everyone who supported us to make this happen.

After a terrible experience with another service dog company I found Good Dog! Laura answered all of my concerns, thoroughly explained about the compassion, and love each dog receives during rasing and training. The unique program they use to train their dogs, then train the future familes was important and even after they come to be our son's dog best friend that our dog will continue to meet annual service dog expectations. All of the training made me feel safe, from fundraising to questions, training to graduation. I felt comfortable choosing Good Dog to train my son's new best friend.
After starting my career as an elementary special education teacher, it became my dream to work for an organization placing service dogs with children. Working for Good Dog! has been a dream realized. I started as a volunteer apprentice trainer for Good Dog! Kaldr who is now a working service dog. It was one of my proudest moments seeing him graduate and knowing he would be making a difference for someone else.
I have now been working for Good Dog! part-time for a little over a year and feel so at home with this team and organization. The Executive Director is very open to feedback and continually striving to improve the organization, while maintaining a fun and family-like culture within the team and with the clients. I am so lucky to get to work with the families that receive service dogs and witness the ways a service dog can empower the children and families whose lives they become a part of.
I began working for Good Dog! Service Canines in 2017 and grown so much since then as a person and a trainer. However, my favorite part is connecting with the families throughout their time of fundraising until long after they have received their dogs, and it is so rewarding seeing them and their entire family grow! The staff and families all come together as one and it is like we are one big family. It’s very rare that you can say that about an organization!

I was given such an amazing opportunity to work for Good Dog! as a trainer. It was the best decision of my life and I owe it all to Laura and Sam for taking a chance with me. It was a dream come true and I feel like part of the family with them! I have also met with the amazing family who will receive the first dog I’ve trained and lots of other families! It’s such a great community, so loving, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
I first started with Good Dog! in 2015 after meeting Rick at Bergin University. I helped with the training of Good Dog brothers Eddie and Nifty before taking a break. In 2019 I came back and trained Good Dog London and started Good Dog Hagrid. I currently have Good Dog Kalani who is Londons sister. I really enjoy working for Good Dog and really love how it doesn’t feel like a job but more like a family. I enjoy the support we get from everyone. I am excited to watch Good Dog!grow over the next many years
We went on this journey not knowing what to expect but the directors kept us busy with online classes and assigned reading. Now we have a wonderful service dog that helps our daughter in so many ways. Giving her a friend when she has none. Helping her talk to people and so much more.
Good Dog! is an amazing organization that helps to support kids like mine that can benefit from a service dog. The training approach is personalized to the needs of the child and they deliver services with great care and compassionate. I highly recommend this organization.
As the lead trainer for this organization, I cannot say enough good things about them! One of my favorite aspects about Good Dog! Service Canines is that it promotes a feeling of love, compassion, and family! Good Dog! Is a family run organization and that is something that is felt throughout from the trainers, to the clients. Once you join, you have become a part of one big loving supportive family! I am honored to be a part of such an amazing service dog organization!

Such an amazing company to work for! Good Dog’s love and compassion for helping others is unmatched. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this team!
When we first looked into getting a service dog for our daughter I was overwhelmed by the process. Good Dog was recommended to me and it truly felt like a family. They walked alongside me throughout our entire fundraising process, helping, encouraging and raising funds for our girl. This organization is determined to make sure every dog is the perfect fit for each family. They continue to work with families long after the dog is placed and the encouragement continues. I am honored to be part of the Good Dog family and will constantly be sending families there way!
Love that they are a very professional and dedicated organization in providing a well trained service Dog that will meet the needs of a children on the autism spectrum. You can even follow the training of the pups on Instagram and see the amazing job they accomplished with time. Thank you for the magnificent job!
They are caring and compassionate. They go above and beyond. You can see how much they truly care about what they do & that they strive to provide the best experience for not only the individuals that receive the service dogs, but also their families. They have done so much to improve the quality of life for those on the Autism spectrum. Such a wonderful organization.
A great organization that is giving everything to help the life of those on the autism spectrum, by proving a best friend into there life
I’ve been following Good Dog since the beginning and watching the wonderful work they do to help families. This is a great organization with a heart, and a wonderful cause. Keep up the good work!
My colleagues and I helped to sponsor a Good Dog! for a local family. What a gift for everyone thanks to the team at Good Dog! The dog has changed a family's life and given us the ability to be a part of the process while changing our lives too. Doesn't get much better than that.
I will be a Good Dog! donor for life.
Good Dog! Autism Companions has been a blessing to our family! Even before you apply for a dog, Laura Sylvester will generously spend 30 minutes telling you about the world of service dogs, life with a service dog, the range of service dog organizations, trainers, and anything else you ask her, as you begin this journey. All of the Good Dogs I’ve seen (including ours) are incredible in terms of their calm, intuition, and capability. Good Dog’s process is perfectly thought out and implemented. The handler training week is intense and wonderful. Our dog has enriched my child’s and our whole family’s lives more than words can capture. Good Dog is an exceptional organization run by devoted, caring, altruistic people who have been there.

GoodDog Autism Companions has added to our family's lives in ways I never imagined. Our GoodDog George has developed a relationship with my daughter that has heightened her independence, her confidence and sense of competence, and the maturity necessary for being responsible for another living being. She loves him and is always proud to have him with her. As George's primary handler, I have fallen so hard, that sometimes I think he does more for me than for my child! He is impeccably trained and amazingly attuned to us and our emotions. Even my non-animal-person husband is crazy about him. Laura and Rick Sylvester have created - and tirelessly devote themselves - to a most wonderful, necessary, and effective organization. I am so grateful to them. I hope Good Dog flourishes and grows for many years to come!
Good Dog does more than good! This organization is run by a genuine family who helped their son and now helps countless other families. It’s been incredible to witness the difference a dog can make in a family. Follow their Instagram & Facebook pages and you will start to see the stories that flood in of all the Good in Good Dog!
Three years ago we looked into getting a service dog for our daughter Evelyn, who has Autism. We thought that her natural connection to animals would make a service dog a good fit. We were hesitant to commit to a company due to so many heartbreaking stories about fraudulent operations. Then we found Good Dog Autism Companions. I had a real conversation with the executive director/ Autism mom. She never tried to sell us on a dog. She was invested in making sure it was the right fit for our daughter and our family. Throughout the fund raising, the matching and the training the Good Dog team was supportive, responsive and always caring. Our daughter and her dog, Naboo are a great team and it has made a huge difference in the quality of her life. I would not hesitate to recommend Good Dog Autism Companions. I think of the Good Dog team as our extended family.

My experience with Good Dog! has been amazing. This NFP changed my families life when my son received his Good Dog! It has been such a blessing volunteering for Good Dog and seeing the magic and love they spread year after year. This organization and its founders give families hope and show how a service companion can change their lives. I have seen it first hand and feel honored to have been there to share in the love and joy when families take their dogs home for the first time. They are much more than service dogs, they are apart of family.
I can't thank Good Dog! enough for the work they do. They have made children living with autism safer, more confident and happier by their work every day by providing a much needed companion. Thank you Good Dog! for how you make a difference.

I have been volunteering for Good Dog! for 7 years. It has been amazing to watch them grow and help more families get dogs. These guys put a lot of love into the Autism community. My favorite part of volunteering is seeing the impact the dogs have on the kids and families.
Good Dog! autism companions took a chance on my little girl after we were rejected by many other service dog companies. They are so knowledgeable, supportive, loving, and really understand the needs of our kiddos with autism. The dog training (and people training) is impeccable, and I can’t wait until our dog comes home in November! We already met her once and just know she is going to change all of our lives for the better ❤️ Thank you for everything, Good Dog!
Good Dog! is an amazing organization. I have thoroughly enjoyed training for them and watching how these dogs help children with Autism.

I am a trainer with Good Dog Autism Companions and I love the team and community here. Our executive director and her husband are autism parents and have been involved in the autism community for many years. They are incredibly knowledgeable about what autism families need in a service dog, and are always willing to offer advice and help to families. Our lead trainer is very supportive and has a great system to check in with the trainers and keep up with the dogs' progress. Love this organization and the work we are doing!
Good Dog! Autism Companions has changed our entire family's lives for the better in immeasurable ways! From the moment we met and worked with their facility dog, Drake, we knew Good Dog! was an organization we wanted to get involved with. Our son's service dog, Flinn is an angel on paws. He has given Cameron so much confidence to try things he might not have done previously, because he knows he has a best friend by his side who will step in to help him when he needs it wherever he goes. Good Dog! Has been with us every step of the way, from the first call, to fundraising, to graduation, and follow up support. We are honored to be members of the Good Dog! family, and would recommend this organization to anyone, no matter if they're seeking an Autism service dog, looking for an amazing organization to support, or both!
Good Dog! is not just a nonprofit company. This organization makes dreams come true. The journey of being a special needs parent is not easy, but working with Good Dog! has shown us unconditional love and support. We will be getting an autism service dog in a month, and Laura Sylvester was wonderful to work with since the beginning. Having a dog nurture and help our daughter with her daily challenges will be incredible, and we can't believe we will be getting therapy from a warm, loving dog. Thank you Good Dog!, Laura, and everyone who has been a part of our story!
Good Dog Autism changed our lives. We benefited by becoming a Good Dog Family and we have Good Dog Grom. Grom is an integral.part of our family unit. He helps us to do things together as a family that we wouldn't have attempted before. We support Good Dog because we know firsthand the difference a service dog can make in a person's life and his family. Every little bit counts! Truly, together we navigate this world as a much more confident and cohesive family unit and our son has the help and support from Grom. It is too easy for special needs families to get overwhelmed and begin to isolate themselves just trying to survive. Life is not about surviving, but living despite obstacles and embracing the quality of life we all should have in our lives. Please support Good Dog Autism!
We are in the process of getting our son an autism service dog through Good Dog Autism Companions. We researched many organizations and decided to go with GDAC after having our phone chat with their director/founder, Laura Sylvester, to see if GDAC would be a good fit for our family. We felt an immediate connection with her because she's a fellow ASD mom and dog lover. She explained the detailed process that goes into selecting, raising, and custom training each dog and child/family. This really set the company apart in my eyes from others. Since we started this journey, we've truly become a "part of the pack" with the other Good Dog Families and staff/trainers. They've been here to help us from fundraising support to answering questions to the matching process and beyond. This is an exceptional non-profit organization & we are excited for the day that Sebastian's Good Dog gets to come home!
Our wonderful Blaze is a Good Dog! Blaze has been a gamer changer for our son, Wyatt. He goes to school with him everyday and has given Wyatt more confidence! Good Dog provides endless support. Some of my favorite things is that they only use positive training methods on their dogs! Their handler training was top notch, providing me with the tools I needed to bring Blaze home. They understand Autism, as their son also has an Autism diagnosis. Their trainer Sam, went way beyond her job, to meet us several times so we could bond with Blaze. She was so kind and loving to my son! She answered all my million questions with patience and support! Thank you Good Dog for such an awesome opportunity!
