Mission: Golden willow retreat is a non-profit organization that promotes healthy grieving by empowering people impacted by all forms of loss through theraputic programming and professional development.
Programs: In 2017 the organization provided assistance through individual retreats and respites to individuals & families with more than 180 nights of guests at golden willow retreat. Hosted weekend in taos ski valley with conference "resilience, support in turbulent times" with 100 attendees. Ongoing grief support groups in northern nm helping those impacted by loss, meet weekly in taos, santa fe, and albuquerque. Provided support services to individuals, families impacted by loss through counseling, ceremonies and connecting to additional outside resources. An additional scholarship program was added to assist those in need of services. The organization expanded community outreach programs via social networking, youtube, radio, and television stations. Hosted annual events: the butterfly release fundraiser and "loss of a loved one" workshop. Participated in seven educational speaking engagements nationally. Authored weekly grief column on emotional healing through loss in the taos news (circulation 10,800). Continued a monthly radio show on kxmt fm focused on providing hope and strength in the midst of loss. Hosted multi departmental and service provider meet and greets with up to 70 attendees.
