Golden Key International Honour Society

I cannot say enough great things about an organization committed to serving college students who excel in their academic pursuits by promoting them to continue to excel in service and leadership as well. My experience with this non-profit has been exemplary. They exhibit the values of the organization and work to continuously improve their services and offerings to students. They truly champion the students they serve everyday.

Golden Key is truly an outstanding organization. It provides recognition for high achieving university students, it offers well planned professional development opportunities, both nationally and internationally, for its membership, and it promotes student success with a varied and valuable scholarship program.
As an advisor to a chapter in Canada I have seen the operation first hand and I strongly endorse The Golden Key International Honour Society as a great non-profit organization.

Golden Key is a truly international organization and is built on a set of values that reach out to people of many backgrounds. It draws on the skills and talents of the brightest university performers and channels their insights, skills and talents towards service to and for others. The world needs such organizations that make a difference. My involvement with Golden Key (GK) stretches across two decades and I can vouch for its impact and value-add in a world that appears to need entities that offer the gift of giving and selflessness as alternatives in life. Organizations are as good as their members and the voluntary nature of GK's membership, supported by a small band of passionate paid professionals, makes GK stand out as different and meaningful.

As a member of GK and president of my chapter, I can honestly say this organization is dedicated to helping others. We embrace what is different and celebrate their achievements together. This organization has not only helped me grow as a person, but I have seen what it also does for other people. It has been such a positive experience in my life and am happy to be a part of it.

I have been a member of Golden Key for a couple years and I greatly appreciate their tri-fold focus on leadership, academics, and service. I also appreciate the resources they make available to their members--scholarships, information about study abroad, leadership, and service opportunities, and more. I also appreciate the responsiveness of their staff.

As an individual member from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, I served on the Council of Student Members (CoSM) as a student member and alumni member. While I joined Golden Key as an individual member and brought a level of ministry and theology to the CoSM position, I learned how to communicate more effectively across generational divides, and how to use more advanced technology than that to which I had previously been exposed. As a volunteer at several different regional conferences and International Summits in Australia and Arizona, I assisted the Corporate Office program coordinators, chapter advisors, student members, and presenters with facilitation of conferences, events, and initiatives toward a common goal of fostering a sense of giving back to the various communities from which the student members come. Golden Key is very intentional in allowing many opportunities for volunteerism in a variety of domestic and international events, and is dedicated to helping students unlock their potential in the areas of scholarship, leadership and service. It is still a joy for me to continue with volunteer efforts at conferences/summits as my schedule allows.

Golden Key is an amazing organization. The entire staff is extremely supportive in making sure that chapters are able to reach obtainable goals throughout each academic year. From the very beginning, the support and attentiveness to concerns shown by the GK staff are always extremely helpful and very appreciated.

Their investment in developing well-rounded, thoughtful, driven student leaders is awesome. As an advisor the level of commitment that I have seen from this organization at every level makes me feel apart of something greater than myself. I am honored to be a member of such a fantastic organization!

I had the honor of being the chapter advisor at the University of Utah for over 25 years. My first International conference, sold me. The values of excellence, recognizing and caring about college students' academic success and support then with leadership skills and a commitment to service. It was the first honor society to give students a global experience, more preparing them for the world we live in and additional perspective to enhance their careers and family. A personal highlight for me was a service project my chapter did at a high diversity elementary school, my students met with second graders, and assisted them writing stories about themselves, to help with improving reading and writing skills. We then took those stories and had them bound in a book cover with their name on it for each students. You had to be there to see the delight and pride in their eyes. Golden Key transformed my life / career in a positive way. It was a major inflection point. The GK community provided global leadership experience at a young age, which altered my lens of what is possible - hoping to become a servant leader. Years later my focus is linking profit + purpose, and helped start a company which grew from $0 to $33bn loans, $7 bn debt, $2bn equity & $4bn of market value. GK set me on the trajectory with a lifetime support network. I have had many roles over the years with GK from general member, to President Duke Chapter (2 years), to the national elected representative (top student role of ~2m community), to past board member (6 years, including excom / chair of finance committee), back now to general member. I am very grateful for the GK founders, team along the years, lifetime members / peers & other key stakeholders (university officials / teachers, corporate sponsors et al).
