Unfortunately I've recently had to find a new home for my blind, elderly dog. My hip replacement surgeries will no longer allow me to take care of her needs as I should. It's been weeks of phone calls with every shelter I contacted recommending euthanasia. All except Godot Animal Sanctuary, that is. Their Perpetual Care Program has given my best friend the rest of her life to enjoy with comfort, safety and love. I'm forever grateful.

My family visited the sanctuary again last week (our third visit in three years), and once again enjoyed every moment. This year we visited during winter months so were able to see so many more of the animals personally because they are in their winter habitats and more accessible to visitors. I recommend anyone in the area to schedule a visit and bring your children, so educational for them!

GODOT is a well taken care of and truly a great place for all the animals that otherwise would no longer be alive or would be suffering at this very moment. The owner who has sacrificed her life in support of all the animals who do not have a future, was it not for her sacrifice needs to be commended. The sanctuary and it's animals are cared for daily rain or shine no matter what day of the year. These animals need our help with any donations we are able to provide. We must remember that it isnt the animals fault they have ended up at the sanctuary, and they need all the help they can get. I appreciate that our community is lucky enough to have such a facility near us. Thank you for all you do and thank you on behalf of all the animals that you have helped and will help.
BEWARE. Numerous deaths of cats especially due to lack of medications and vet care. Owner bankrupt, property going to Sheriff sale. If you love animals do NOT donate and never surrender an animal here! Check with Jefferson Co Sheriff's office re: Sheriff sale!

I've known the owner for almost 25 years and know first hand all the good work that's been done at the sanctuary for even longer. I was visiting there again last week and this time brought a friend to show around. I just have to take a moment to say thank you Godot Animal Sanctuary and Staff for all you do for the animals you rescue. Joe P
My husband and I were traveling across PA when our dog Bart got loose at a highway rest area. He ran into the woods and we tried for hours to find him. When we returned home two weeks later, a message from Godot Animal Sanctuary was on our answering machine saying Bart had been rescued by them and they found us through his ID tags. Lana, the owner, had rescued him from the highway where he'd been hit by a car. She took him to a veterinarian, saved his life, and took him to the sanctuary. We made arrangements to go to the sanctuary and pick Bart up. While we were there we were given a tour and saw all the wonderful animals. What a beautiful place! We can never thank Lana and the sanctuary enough for their kindness and generosity and their willingness to stop and save the life of our 'best friend' Bart. Rose and Josh Edwards - Denville, NJ
My wife and I recently took our dog Brandy to her vet . After running tests, she was diagnosed as having a fast growing cancer. We were told the only way to save her life was to remove it with surgery. We simply couldn't afford that great expense especially because my job just laid off workers for the next few months and my wife's medical bills are high. We were heartbroken to think the highlight of our household, our Brandy girl, could not be saved because we couldn't do anything to help.
We contacted the Executive Director of Godot Animal Sanctuary to ask for advice or any kind of assistance she might be able to offer. After speaking at length with her, she made arrangements with our veterinarian to have the surgery done, and to have all the expenses paid by Godot Animal Sanctuary.
This was the kindest, most generous thing anyone has ever done for our family. We will never be able to repay her and the sanctuary. Without Godot Animal Sanctuary, Brandy would not have survived and our hearts would be broken.
I know of no other organization that would ever do that for folks they didn't even know and their dog.
Brandy is recovering well and is expected to survive with no future return of the disease.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

This sanctuary saved our dog Jake. Thank you Lana and the sanctuary. Without you our dog would have been put down by the county. No one but you would fight for him, and give him a home. This place is beautiful in every way.

Godot Animal Sanctuary was the only group who came to the rescue of almost 30 abandoned cats and dogs that were left behind when our neighbors moved away. My wife and I called every Humane Society and rescue in our entire tri-county area and not one of them would help. When we found Godot quite a distance away, the Executive Director, Lana, immediately sent help to rescue these poor animals who had no food, water, or decent shelter, and were left in freezing temperatures with only boxes and barrels to use for protection from the cold. Without the Godot Sanctuary, and especially Lana, these animals would have died. We, and many of our friends, are forever grateful for their willingness to help!
We are so grateful to Godot Animal Sanctuary for accepting our 2 cats, Olive and Janie, into their Perpetual Care Program.
We brought our kitties to the sanctuary 2 years ago, when after years of waiting my husband and I were blessed with our beautiful adoptive son, Jarrod. Jarrod unfortunately has severe allergies to animal dander.
After months of searching for a permanent, loving home for our pets, we found Godot.
We traveled there from Delaware to take our girls to their new forever home. We couldn't have been happier to see the facility and meet the staff and Director, Lana.
Visiting their new home convinced us we had made a good decision. The kitties have bunk beds, window seats, toys, everything for a happy, safe life.
We visited again recently and were so thrilled when our cats seemed so happy and healthy and remembered us.
Our son Jarrod is the love of our life, but we still miss Olive and Janie.
Thank you Lana and Godot Animal Sanctuary for loving and caring for our cats when we no longer could.

I've worked with and been an ardent supporter of many animal organizations for more than fifty years. Animal welfare is a lifelong passion and mission if mine. I'm proud to say this past year brought the signing of Dick Goddard's Law here in Ohio, raising the penalties for animal abuse offenders. And I'm also quite proud to have been the organizer of the annual Woollybear Festival dating back to 1973, an event bringing a positive view, and raising money and awareness for all animals.
My partnership with Godot Animal Sanctuary began several years ago when I approached them to host my 40th annual Woollybear Festival. Since then our mutual efforts on behalf of animal rights and welfare issues has continued, and I am proud to be associated with them and their tireless work for the animals.
This is their 25th year, and they've rescued over 10,000 animals! Remarkable!
