I’ve been volunteering with GOA for over 6 years now and they literally are the best sanctuary I’ve had the pleasure to work with. The staff are all amazing and the care they feel for the animals not just clear from their actions, but palpable in spirit.
I work a full time job in Manhattan and drive an hour and a half each week to volunteer and wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world— to be in nature with these beautiful animals and fantastic staff, it’s my favorite day of the week!

I volunteer at GOA. It is the highlight of my week. All the animals are extremely well taken care of. We clean stalls dnd fresh food daily. They all have shelter at night. A vet is always on call. I socialize with the goats when I am there they love human interaction. The exceptions being ones that were abused maybe be still skittish. They put the animals first and any animals that end up here live their happily ever after.

Amazing place run by the best people!
I recently started volunteering at GOA and am so impressed by how well run this place is. the well being of the animals is the priority and it shows. The grounds are kept extremely clean and organized. I was most impressed by how important it is to GOA to keep families and best friends together so that the animals can be together and enjoy their time in good company. I believe all animals should have the chance to live such a comfortable life where they can simply play, relax, love and be loved, and have all their needs met. Very happy that such a place exists!

I have been volunteering at GOA for over a year and it it most certainly the best part of my week. The staff are the best and care so much about every single animal. They are also super supportive of the volunteers and never hesitate to stop and answer questions and explain anything you need to know. It is a warm and welcoming community that I am so proud to be a part of!

I've been volunteering with this organization for over a year with my husband. The care and life they provide to the animals is amazing. Knowing they are all happy, loved and safe is so wonderful. The staff are incredibly dedicated to the mission. It is also amazing to form relationships with the animals, which is one of the absolute highlights of the time there.

I have been volunteering at GOA for about a year and a half now and every time I leave I can't wait to go back. The staff is so nice and supportive. Leanne never passes up the chance to save another animal in need. Here heart is gold, as well as the rest of the staff and volunteers who choose to spend their free time here. The animals are happy and safe, well fed and most of all cared for. I can't rave enough about how glad I am that GOA exists and that I get to be a tiny part of it. ❤️❤️❤️

I have been volunteering here for about a year and it is the best place ever! The farm is so amazingly well kept (it’s beautiful) and all the animals live such a great life! The staff all put their heart and soul into what they do - it’s really amazing to watch! I decided to officially retire from the “working world” and put my time in here - way more satisfying then a desk job!!

Being a weekly volunteer, I can confidently say that working with the goats and other lovely animals at GOA has healed me and done wonders for my anxiety. It is a sanctuary for me! Not to mention to amazing work they do for all animals that fall GOA home. Heaven on earth!

Once I retired I had no idea what I wanted to do. A friend volunteers at GOA and I went along a year and a half ago and it was the best thing I could have done. Volunteering at Goats of Anarchy is truly my happy time and place. I started every other week and now I volunteer 3 times a week! Nothing better than patting the goats when I am done with the cleaning.

My husband and I have been volunteering at Goats of Anarchy for almost 3 years. It is hands-down one of the best organizations I’ve ever been involved with. The residents (mostly goats, but also sheep, cows, horses, minis, pigs, chickens, alpacas, turkeys) are the priority and are very well cared for. Every effort is made for their comfort and safety and it shows when you see the residents happily munching on hay or spending time in their large fields. Each resident has his/her own unique personality and they are a joy to be around. I am constantly in awe of all Goats of Anarchy does for their rescues, they go above and beyond!

We began volunteering at GoatsofAnarchy in November 2020. We immediately knew that this was a special place. We enjoy being assigned to different areas of the sanctuary and we love interacting with the residents. We feel very appreciated for volunteering but we are the ones that are so thankful to have this opportunity to help the residents and to spend time with them. Goats of Anarchy is a magical place and the residents are so well cared for. I can’t wait to spend more time volunteering there someday in the future.

Everything about Goats of Anarchy is impressive- its facilities , its team (staff and volunteers), the way it’s run and managed. And every one of the animals has an amazing story that we as volunteers become part of. Everyone works hard toward the goal of giving the residents their best lives! It’s an awesome place to be a part of. I’m so happy I found it.

I love this sanctuary. The people are so kind and hard working and everyone works so hard as a team to take care of the precious and sometimes precocious animals that we have the privilege if caring for. I can not say enough about the beautiful property and facilities and the attention to every detail that makes Goats of Anarchy such a special and healing place!

but horses, sheep, pigs, cows, and birds. All of them live happy peaceful lives. Simply one of the most beautiful sanctuaries---safe modern barns, lush pastures, happy well-cared for animals. GOATS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

Love this place so much. In lieu for a short time cleaning either the goats, sheep's or mini horses stalls you can spend some quality time to see them up close and learn how similar they're to our beloved pets at home like dogs or cats although honestly goats rock. They're like kids jumping and climbing their freestyle yard swings and or playing with each other. It's something that can't be missed in your life.

My son suffers from severe depression and it can be a struggle to help him, despite meds and therapists ... and then we found Goats of Anarchy.
My son has got so much pleasure from the animals there. He loves being in the yards with the goats all around him, wanting his attention. He adores the barn cats, the frogs near the drainage pipe, the guardian dogs and the very loud rooster. He often interrupts his work in the barn to chat with a goat or stroke a cat, and it isn't an issue because we all do it!
The staff at the sanctuary are all so lovely to work with, always greeting us with a smile and a cheery welcome. The other volunteers are friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere there is simply amazing - peaceful, relaxed, happy, safe.
These animals have an obviously happy and healing life at the sanctuary and it is easy to see how happy they are. Everyone is so very caring and want to give these animals the very best lives they could have.
However, the love and healing also works with us humans too. My son told me that it is so good to have something to look forward to each week - it helps to keep him going, and that is literally a life-saver. I've never seen anyone there in a bad mood, nor have I seen people that don't get along. It seems there is a magic about this sanctuary that envelops us all - a little slice of heaven that we are honored to visit.

GOA is absolutely heaven on earth! I love volunteering for them and always feel extremely happy when I’m there! Everyone is super nice and helpful, the property is beautiful and well kept/clean, and you also learn a lot about the animals! I also feel very safe when I’m there. The staff goes above and beyond for the animals and they are extremely knowledgeable in how to care for them. My favorite thing about GOA is how they take in and care for special needs animals.

I started volunteering at Goats of Anarchy a little over a year ago- and for lack of better words it changed my life. To start, I was loosely vegetarian when I first started. Within 3 months of being there, I became full vegan. The work that they do is nothing short of inspiring- it gave me the push I needed to never consume animal products again.
Every day I am there I learn something new and the staff is so willing to teach and answer any questions. I have seen people love these beings like they are their own, and it's incredibly heart warming to witness.
The amount of lives that this sanctuary has saved, changed, or improved is mind blowing. GOA has given life to so many beings that would normally be discarded. The people in charge have saved animals from horrible situations that they personally attend to themselves. I am beyond thankful that I've had the opportunity to be around these caring people and see the miracles that have happened. Goats of Anarchy truly deserves to win this award.

Hello, I am a new volunteer for GOA and am so pleased to be invited to meet and serve the residents there. The staff and volunteers that I've met and work with are knowledgeable, gentle and dedicated. The property is gorgeous, organized and spotless. There is a peacefulness among the animals that I've met. It is a humbling experience having learned the stories of their hard lives and to be witness to the new calm and loving world that GOA has given them. I am truly honored to be a Monday Morning "Mucker".

The goats that get to stay at GOA are extremely well taken care of. They are also loved by the staff and volunteers that spend time with them. I am an every-other-Saturday volunteer and spend a couple hours cleaning stalls, refilling water buckets, placing new bedding and raking yards. These animals get a fresh stall every night. We were down a few volunteers last week and still got it all done. Everyone worked a little harder - for the sake of our goats. That's how this place works.

I’ve been lucky enough to be a volunteer at Goats of Anarchy for over 5 years. It’s the most amazing sanctuary where both top notch care along with love and compassion is being provided. There are many farm animals that came to GOA with various disabilities that are thriving and living beautiful lives due to the care they receive. The staff and volunteers are all wonderful, compassionate people who truly care about each and every resident. I’ve seen so many transformations where animals come to GOA sick and scared and because of the love and care they receive, are now able to play confidently during the day and relaxed enough to snuggle up with their new friends at night. Goats of Anarchy is the most amazing place!

Truly a sanctuary in every sense of the word! The sense of gentleness and peace that the animal residents radiate is a beautiful thing to experience. I wish the entire world could be like Goats of Anarchy- a place where animals are respected, cared for and treated with dignity as the sensitive, intelligent, emotional and unique beings they are. I have been a supporter & follower of GOA on social media/Patreon for the past several years. I recently moved to NJ from NYC and was excited (but admittedly a little nervous) to finally have the chance to become a weekly volunteer. Everything about GOA- from the kindness of the staff and fellow volunteers to the exceptional care the animals receive- has exceeded my expectations and deepened my respect and admiration for the important work they do.

I have been volunteering at Goats of Anarchy every Wednesday for over 5& 1/2 years. When I began, there were about 30 animals, mostly goats, and many with disabilities. I immediately fell in love with my new animal friends, and Wednesday became my favorite day of the week. There are now over 250 animals and my day consists of helping approximately 40 of the most severely disabled goats get into their prosthetics and carts in the morning so they can begin their day playing and interacting with their goat friends and human caretakers. I then clean out their stalls and make sure their “home” is ready for them with fresh water and hay when it’s time to be put to bed. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, and I’m so proud to be a small part of an organization that puts the safety and needs of its animals above all else. I have met the most wonderful people and am so thankful to be part of this amazing organization.

Goats of Anarchy, a farm sanctuary in NJ has helped me get through the COVID-19 pandemic. I started volunteering in Feb 2020 and wish I would have started sooner. I absolutely love volunteering with the many residents of Goats of Anarchy! I've been volunteering here weekly since May 2022, and I can say that my Sunday morning shift is something I look forward to all week. I primarily volunteer in the same area, so I've been getting to know many of the resident goats and their favorite spots to get pets. I am in love with my buddies Diesel, Gunnar, Prince, Bowie, Henry, baby Emmit and his momma Gloria, and so so many more of these gentle and rarely anarchy-raising goats. Many of my goat buddies greet me and expect some petting and conversation before they move out of my way to clean, which I willingly oblige. I've also volunteered in the area with alpacas, sheep, and cows, who are just as lovely and ready for attention.

The volunteers and folks who run GOA are so supportive and caring, which makes every visit to the farm even better.

If you're thinking of volunteering and donating to a wonderful animal sanctuary, I wholeheartedly recommend Goats of Anarchy. I'm so glad I found them and can help with the care of their residents.

I've been volunteering with GOA for about a year now. I started in the Big Barn with the goats and in the fall I switched to the minis (ponies and donkeys). I couldn't be happier with being able to help these animals and with the wonderful other volunteers and staff. Everyone has been friendly and open with information about each animal and how and why we do what we do. I've been able to go visit with the other animals that I don't normally care for and it feeds my soul to sit with a sheep in a field on a 20 degree sunny day or pet a blind and deaf baby goat on a blistering hot day. GOA is Heaven on Earth and I get to visit each weekend. Love It.

Simply one of the most amazing sanctuaries out there. All lives are valued, and differently abled animals are given the love and support to live happy lives. Residents with special needs get individualized attention and appropriate physical therapy, medical care, prostheses. I've seen firsthand how well the residents are cared for---seriously, if I'm reincarnated, please let it be as a goat at GOA ---and the grounds, barns, stalls are impeccably clean and maintained. I've also been to every corner of the property.
Staff and volunteers are committed to the animals above all. Fiscally responsible in using all funds for the care of the animals.
