When I first became a resident (they call us members) at a go-getters group home the program was great, however for sometime now, the program has had a member on member aggressive behavior, threatening behavior, violence is a problem that persists, so much that those members who are in there general group homes avoid going to there day center because they don't feel safe there, intensive group home members have no choice. The most common response to member complaints involving aggressive, threatening or violent behavior is "they are adults we cant do anything about it", despite the fact that rules exist that prescribe a process to deal with such problems.
Food insecurity has become a long standing problem, members end up having their snap, paa cases closed because (in group homes members are supposed to have the program serve as their representative) because they fail to complete the redetermination process, one member went 3 months with no food, I personally am now subsisting on what crackers, bread, and meats I have left. And I had to stock up in case this would happen, if I had not I would be starving. This program needs to be investigated by government authorities.
