Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Christianity, Religion

Mission: In January 2023, Open Doors U.S.A. relaunched as Global Christian Relief, now an independent ministry that continues to serve persecuted Christians in some of the most dangerous countries to follow Jesus today. Open Doors International continues its work in the U.S. through a new affiliate office, Open Doors U.S., which supports the organization's long-established fieldwork in 70 countries. Global Christian Relief is dedicated to one simple goal: To meet the needs of millions of persecuted Christians, so they can be a light for the gospel in their communities and advance the great commission. Our approach is hands-on and involves working directly with local Christian communities. We meet the needs of the persecuted church by providing critical relief to Christians under attack for their faith through emergency food kits, medical aid, safe houses and trauma counseling—along with long term help to grow strong Christian communities through Bible distribution, pastoral training, advocacy, legal aid, microloans, rebuilding of homes and churches, and so much more.

I enjoy donating to GCR because I know that my donations actually reach persecuted Christians who are suffering. I like that GCR takes on specific projects like helping families in the brick kilns in Pakistan...it feels very grassroots vs. some organizations where your donations feel more general.

I love the prayer app! I don't know of any other organization that has something like this. I get sent urgent prayer requests of Christians living in foreign countries who are persecuted for their faith. The stories on the prayer app usually include background on the believer, what their situation is, and then it ends with a prayer we can walk through together for the believer. I find the prayers very poignant. I also like the option that I can post a prayer of my own for these believers. What's really cool is that, after you post a prayer of your own, you can read through a wall of other people who have posted their own prayers for the individual/situation. It helps me feel connected to my global family, and that we're united in prayer for a universal cause.

I would recommend the prayer app to anyone looking to get updates on their persecuted family. The stories on the prayer app are all current and up-to-date, with many stories happening within the past week. What a connection to the global church!

This is an organization that lets you know how your gift is being used! I've been a monthly donor for almost two years now. Every month I get a statement with how my gift is being put to work to support my persecuted family. It lets me feel like I'm really making a difference!

My gifts have been used in a variety of ways, from sending Bibles to those without them, to trauma counseling for those who've experienced great persecution, to shelter after horrific earthquakes in Turkey. My gifts are making a difference and I'm grateful to be a part of this organization.

It's easy to give to an organization when you see your gift hard at work. We also sometimes receive videos or letters directly from those we're impacting. Very powerful to get a "thank you" from a country like India or Pakistan.

I'm grateful for this organization. They work tirelessly at making sure the voiceless have a voice. Over 360 million Christians face some form of extreme persecution each year. It's an issue the Church in the West is oblivious of. However, Global Christian Relief is hard at work educating the Church through prayer app posts, blogs, videos and more.

I love reading the blogs, as well as following the prayer prompts at the end. They help me stay connected to the individual the blog is about--my brother and sister in Christ. This organization does a great job of lopping me together with the global church, that we are all One Church and One Family in Him.

Global Christian Relief [GCR] is one of the best organizations to gather information, on the ground, from countries where Christian persecution is greatest. GCR uses powerful stories to connect the American church to our brothers and sisters around the world facing difficult trials for following Jesus. GCR shares these stories through social media and their prayer app which allows me to connect and pray for the larger church body. Global Christian Relief has a prayer app that I really like. It has really helped me increase my knowledge regarding the many factors that contribute to Christian persecution around the world. Before GCR, I'll admit that my knowledge of persecution was somewhat limited. I appreciate that GCR takes the time to travel to different countries to collect these stories first-hand. I enjoy knowing that my prayers are read by other U.S. Christians, and by the people suffering the most in other places where it's dangerous or illegal to follow Jesus. If you have an interest in learning about Christian persecution or about religious freedom in general, I would encourage you to look into Global Christian Relief.

I've been donating funds to Open Doors with Brother Andrew since, at least, the 1980's. I like the fact that they have expanded from the distribution of the Word of God, the primary focus when I first heard of them, to now meeting other needs as well; but still focusing on the Word and prayer. Using their monthly Prayer Force ALERT and the World Watch List prayer guide helps me to pray daily for my persecuted church family. I'm thankful that God allows me to be a part of this ministry.

I have been an Open Doors follower/donor since 2000, when I attended a lecture on the persecuted church in Brazil. I am also a great admirer of brother Andre, who unfortunately died recently. I always wanted to meet him in person, but it was not possible, despite having personally attended one of his lectures when I was still living in Brazil. His courage and determination inspire me to continue serving the Lord despite the struggles. What a wonderful work God began through the faithful obedience of a simple man like us. The work that Open Doors does is simply fantastic! Giving spiritual and financial support, being a friendly shoulder in times of pain, Bible training, sending out Bibles and Christian material, and much more, helping brothers in Christ who pay a high price to follow Jesus Christ to remain steadfast followers of Christ. For this and much more, Open Doors deserves our respect, admiration, prayers and financial support.

Their app allows you to be part of an international prayer chain that lifts up our brothers and sisters across the globe. without them we would not know as much as we do about how our brothers and sisters in other countries are fairing. There are times when I heard the words "persecuted Christian" and I found it difficult to believe that this was real. At least on the scale that I read about in Open Doors USA. I've been so blessed to be a partner of Open Doors with Brother Andrew. Beyond their loving and easy to reach staff who have supplied me with prayer & persecution preparedness materials, I continued to support this ministry because they take a firm stand on TRUE salvation and do not fund the lies & deceit of the Catholic church.

For more information about who they support with your funds, you can reach out to their offices and truly loving staff. Unlike VOM which sadly does funnel money to the great ___ of Rome, I felt led to support this ministry because we know our King makes no compromise in holiness. As always seek the Lord in prayer and place HIS riches only where He directs.

The APP is a great way to continue in prayer and receive live updates on brethren who are overcoming daily and fighting the great and worthy fight of faith. What an inspiration and a great way to FEEL like a part of the worldwide church. Thank you Open Doors. Let us remain faithful unto the end and receive our reward!

I first read Brother Andrew's book, God's Smuggler in the 1980s. I was astonished to find out the scope and the level of persecution of Christian Believers that was happening around the world. My wife and I were both moved to pray for our persecuted Brothers and Sisters in Christ, but also to give financially to Brother Andrew's Open Doors ministry monthly, which we continue to do now here in 2022. It is extremely encouraging to read the accounts, reports, and testimonies from Believers of how Open Doors and partners are providing assistance and encouragement to persecuted Christians around the World. Open Doors is about how we can PRAY for the persecuted Church, but it is also about how we can help (give) for specific needs, and in many cases, see and hear how God is working through our prayers and gifts. God's Word says that all who live godly lives will suffer persecution, 2 Timothy 3:12.
We, who currently live in freedom to practice our faith should pray and give as generously as we are able, while we still have our liberties...keeping in mind that some day we may not have them.

It is my true privilege to participate with the Open Doors ministry, serving the Persecuted Church. My modest monthly contribution, combined with that lots of other’s, empowers Open Doors to come to the financial, material, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aid of those in desperate need, even in the remotest parts of our world. Open Doors’ daily reports of the persecutions and enduring faith of besieged fellow Christians, serve to cause me to be consistent and pointed in praying for their protection and triumph.

My Aunt was a prayer warrior and quiet supporter of missionaries. After she died in 2011, the Lord laid upon my heart to continue her work of praying. That's when I was introduced to Open Doors. I asked for the monthly prayer calendar to be sent and the Lord enlarged my world. I then began to learn about each country, the people, their persecution perils. So I prayed more intelligently. The Lord gave me a love for the persecuted believers. As I go through my day, even while exercising, Scripture verses come to mind and prompt me to pray the words for the focus of each day. The materials and letters and emails I receive keep me informed--even reading the news online updates what is happening in the world where living for Christ costs so much. I am thankful to Open Doors and consider it "all joy" to pray for the persecuted church. I'm not in it for the glory but in obedience to what the Lord has asked me to do. To God be the glory--great is His faithfulness to all generations.

I was born to missionary parents in Peru and after my father was killed by a drunk driver my mother raised the 6 of us while working as a mission representative. She read missionary biographies to us in addition to our family Bible reading, memorization and prayer time. I remember my younger brother and I pretending in our back yard that we were smuggling Bible with Brother Andrew. I have tried to share these heroes of the faith with my children and grandchildren. It was a while after my husband died that the youngest of my six children started helping me with the rent, and now while I can with what he gives toward the rent I am able to start giving money to spread the Word of God beyond my community. Now I REALLY am helping Brother Andrew smuggle Bibles!

Learning about Open Doors and Partnering with them has been a huge impact on my faith and growth in the Lord. While I realize the motivation to give should be out of love and care for others, joining in the suffering of our brothers and sisters throughout the world through prayers and tears and financial help has strengthened my faith and helped me to grow bit by bit to be less materialistic, self centered and greedy and to think daily about the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world. In this I can now teach my children. Instead of buying yet another new toy or decoration for the house, we are learning to truly find our joy in Christ and better use our resources for the Kingdom of Heaven, so by God's power and grace alone, we are growing in grace and love and striving to live out our prayer, "Thy Kingdom Come." At mealtimes now we pray for those suffering and hungry. The prayer app was huge for me. I am thankful for God's grace through Open Doors to serve those throughout the world who are suffering for Christ and for giving us the opportunity to be part of Christ's "hands and feet."

I read God's Smuggler when I was a teenager. Recently I felt led to help the people in China and looked up for a way to support them with my money and found Open Doors. I was really happy to find out that brother Andrew's work was being continued in such a way. I really love the prayer app. It really has helped me grow in my faith and really has given me a good opportunity to turn my little time that might have been used on social media or playing video games into prayer time for my persecuted brothers and sisters across the world.
I wish people would start virtual mission trips with their youth groups and churches. A group of people could agree to fast their time and their resources and their money for a week or a month or even a year and then they could donate it to our brothers and sisters through open doors or other Christian nonprofits. A youth group could agree to give up eating out or drinking coffee or buying anything for a week other than just the necessities of life and all extra money could be donated to our brothers and sisters in dire need. A youth group or women's group could also agree to not do any social media for a week and use that time praying instead. I pray somebody start a website or maybe many websites with this idea and encourage people to take virtual mission trips because now God has given us great power through the internet to affect the world around us. Let it not be said of us in the Day of Judgement that we wasted this great opportunity.

Earlier this year a friend from England wrote to me about Open Doors and their work with Christian believers in many countries whose faith and beliefs are condemned. A number of years ago we became friends with a priest who was studying in Rome and later returned to Iran and was shot and killed in his car after leading a worship service. He is now remembered in the church of San Bartolomeo in Rome which is a shrine to 20th-century martyrs. His memory and sacrifice in the service of God and His people is very moving for us. We were unaware in how many countries Christians experience religious intolerance and are severely punished for practicing their beliefs. We are thankful that Open Doors is involved in this extremely challenging work through local churches to assist people In a variety of ways and are glad to help through our support.

I first encountered Open Doors when I read Hearts of Fire. It set my heart on fire to pray for Christians suffering in nations that despise Christianity. Yet these martyrs remain strong in their faith in Jesus Christ. Would my faith be as strong and true? Their stories enriched and strengthened my faith. I now pray daily for their safety and protection and I tell others about their stories. We are blessed in America but the darkness is coming. All Christians must join together to speak truth and spread the light and good news of Jesus Christ. Your ministry needs all of us to support you for you go where we cannot. I have had the pleasure of giving to Open Doors for two years now and God has truly blessed me in ways I did not expect. I enjoy following the prayer schedule and focusing on the Middle Eastern section because I now work in the Middle East. And since I now live and work in this part of the world, I have developed a passion for learning and praying for here and of course, Israel is also part of the grand plan. I was busy creating a PowerPoint inspired by Open Doors prayer schedule and I started dedicating time once a month for this region. A few months ago I hooked up with a few other believers in another Middle Eastern country and I share the monthly prayers. I believe I was called by God not only to donate but support the persecuted Church in their time of need, so I looked for an organisation that would meet the biblical criteria and I found Open Doors. It reminded me of the words of our Saviour when He said, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, naked and you clothed Me etc this is what I see Open Doors doing and I want to be part of such an organisation. Yeah, I was looking for ways to help "the least of these" as referenced by Jesus in the Bible. I have the understanding that this is supposed to be the traveling missionaries who didn't have anything. I also understand that some people see that as helping any Christian brother or sister in need. I figured supporting a charity which is in the mission field in areas of the world where Christians are greatly persecuted would be a good way to help both Missionaries and those Christian brothers and sisters in need of helping, thinking back to "the least of these".

Hello, I read every book that brother Andrew wrote and was so moved by his testimony and his work to help brothers and sisters in other countries! It changed me and made me aware of the need to help our struggling family in Christ!! When I heard of Open Doors I couldn't wait to help them! I feel for me it's my duty and my joy to give! Thank you brother Andrew and Open Doors for all your hard work and love for the persecuted! I also love the monthly prayer pamphlet so that I can pray and the urgent prayer requests made available for us to lift these precious people up to God!!!

And also for the opportunity to share the help, that God has shown me, by donating financially to a reputable organization that is supporting the persecuted church in many ways. And also, Open Doors provides me with invaluable information by which my prayers to God can be informed.

After reading Brother Andrew's book and looking into open doors, I have determined to make it one of the charities I support. They help persecuted Christians all over the world. As a Christian, I think we are responsible for how we use our money. Paul says those who are well off should use their money to help others in 1 Timothy 17:18, which states "17Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others"(NLT) which is what Open Doors does for our persecuted brothers and sisters. I would highly recommend giving to this organization.

Passing on the word of Christ is important, because in this world their are demonic rulers that hate Jesus Christ, one is president Joe Biden, he is the biggest Antichrist in America at this time, but the word of Christ lets us know that we are safe & Satan & his children will be crushed.

Unbelievably, I am giving Opendoors USA an one star (or no stars) because three times this organization drafted $50.00 out of my account without permission. For each time with the third attempt failing because I changed my debit card #, Opendoors USA claimed that I accidentally chose to be a monthly donor WHICH I NEVER DID!

Although I did get my money back for the first two times, it was the third time that confirmed that Opendoors USA was in fact trying to steal from me. As I mentioned, I changed my debit card because I feared that Opendoors USA would try to pull from my account again. On March 3rd, I received an email from Opendoors stating that they were not able to pull from my account due to a card decline!

Uh, yes, you thieves. It's because I changed my card so that you couldn't turn my bank account into an 'opendoor'. I emailed them a very angry letter, yet Opendoors USA sent a reply stating that they were sorry that I am no longer a monthly donor?! The letter also tried to bribe me back into giving by telling me how my money helped in buying bibles for the persecuted saints. No apologies were given for their trying to steal my money.

Opendoors USA hides behind persecuted saints just to casually take from your account. I find this extremely vile! Scammers!!

Open Doors is beautiful. I've heard about martyrdom before, but I wasn't aware that Christians were persecuted so constantly in such a large global scale. Growing up in New York City, I had generally viewed Christians as a somewhat "privileged" majority and assumed that this was the case in most countries. However, Open Doors taught me about the exhausting persecution that Christians around the world experience D.A.I.L.Y.
And this organization doesn't just broadcast their stories, but they also commit themselves to serving at the front lines: Christians rely on them for food, water, shelters (including safe houses), psychological healing, and spiritual uplifting. This organization is literally these victims' "Daily Bread."
I know what you might be thinking: "Sounds like a great idea, but I'm broke." Well, God has equipped this team with more than just one way to serve. I myself have been occasionally donating $5 at a time (And it means so much to them!). In addition to that, I've also been able to write letters to persecuted Christians, become a social media ambassador, pray for particular communities using the Prayer Force alerts, and contribute to the Open Doors prayer wall. And guess what: You can too! (Bonus: order your FREE copy of the thrilling book "God's Smuggler," which tells you all you need to know about Brother Andrew, the founder).

Now someone might ask me “Marc, why are you supporting the Open Doors ministry?” Here is why: firstly, this ministry has a long history (more than 6 decades!) of faithfully and sacrificially serving and being committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church by offering practical and on-the-ground assistance and aid to persecuted Christians, at great risks. Typically, persecuted Christians are considerably made up of orphans and widows, as husbands and fathers get killed by radical groups such as Boko Haram, Muslim Fulani Herdsmen, ISIS, and so on. Therefore, by prayerfully and financially partnering with this ministry, I get to practice “pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father” which is “to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world” – James 1:27.
Secondly, the Lord Jesus Christ offers many promises with eternal rewards related to caring for His children, especially the least of them and the most vulnerable, as recorded in the following Bible passages: Matthew 10:42, Proverbs 19:17, Ecclesiastes 11:1, Matthew 25:40, Mark 9:41, and Hebrews 6:10.
Thirdly, members of the Body of Christ must love each other, care for one another, and serve one another just as Christ, the Head of this Body, exemplified. “This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad” – 1 Corinthians 12:25-26.
Fourthly and lastly, it is good investing in Open Doors because this organization gets the job done! What I mean by that is it takes the words of the Lord Jesus Christ seriously, and, therefore, it is bearing eternally good fruit by the grace and mercy of and for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!

I’m a 17 year old guy, and learning about Open Doors has changed my life. For the past year I’ve seen prayer requests and heard stories that Open Doors has presented. It’s crazy what our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are going through. People are literally suffering for Jesus. People are being persecuted and beaten even by their family members every single day. It’s heartbreaking. But it’s also encouraging to see how many people are willing to take a stand for Jesus and live for Him no matter the consequences. Most of us aren’t in a position where we can constantly go on mission trips, share the Gospel with unreached people groups, and serve the persecuted Church. So that means that what we give really matters and is a big help. I recently started giving to Open Doors, and it’s been a true blessing. I really hope that you will pray about and consider giving to Open Doors in order to serve the persecuted Church around the world and let them know that they don’t stand alone. As my pastor, Brother Steve, says, “I’d rather get to Heaven and God tell me, ‘Steve, you gave too much,’ than God say, ‘You didn’t give enough.’”

Being a partner of Open Doors is a privilege and an honor for me, since when I donate to Open Doors, in fact I am "donating" to Jesus (Matt. 25:40). I am Brazilian and I started supporting the cause of the persecuted Church in the year 2000. In 2018 I and my family moved to the USA (I came to study at the Wheaton College), and now in 2019 I became a partner of American Open Doors. The faith and perseverance of the persecuted brothers challenges me and encourages me to remain firm in the Lord, despite the struggles. I am impressed by the testimony of faith and courage of many of them. The work that Open Doors carries out among the nations where there is persecution is very important, because it helps those brothers to stay in their place of origin preaching and giving testimony of Salvation in Christ Jesus, so that more people are saved. It is also important because in most regions, the only help they receive is from Open Doors, since when they are discovered as Christians, they are rejected by family members, relatives, friends and governments. Open Doors is a true blessing in my life and especially in their lives.

I did not become a donor right away but the scripture "to whom much is given much is required" opened my eyes. I was living a life of great sin and great sadness. I was on every psychotropic, anti-depressive, sleeping bill and benzodiazepene known to man. I smoked 30 cigarettes a day and weighed 100 lbs.
I had the knowledge of God but not the power thereof.
God, in his infinite love and wisdom decided to ruin my right lower leg.
It was post-op of one of my many surgeries that I found Open Doors. I read the story of Brother Andrew and the many who took their lives into their hands to give Bibles to those in tyrannical countries.
As I started to give and to pray for those many people in countries far away, God was changing me, too.
The idea that I could actually help these people made me feel real purpose for the first time in a long time.
Because I had to pray for these beloved ones meant I had to pray, and the more I prayed, the more I prayed. The more I prayed I realized that God did still love me, it brought me close to His Great Heart and HIs Great Love.
This ministry, these Open Doors, healed me, too.
God used Open Doors to give me purpose, to know I was serving God and to know that He still loved me.
Now, I can say with David,
"Let the bones which Thou hast broken, rejoice!"!
(I'm sure this won't be chosen as I haven't done much, but it is really just a Thank You to Open Doors, that Christ uses your ministry even in the lives of the givers)

I have heard of and supported Open Doors for some 25 years now. I believe they are a great organization working with and coming alongside the Persecuted Church. The work they do in providing aid, education, discipling and encouragement to our suffering brothers and sisters compels me to get involved in God’s work too even if it is in small ways such giving and praying. It helps me feel part of something much bigger.
I especially find the monthly prayer guide useful and use it as a daily reminder to pray for the persecuted, the suggested prayers are short but to the point. I also like that Open Doors produces the World Watch List, this is something that our world leaders should pay attention to so they would know that Christians are a persecuted people group too.
I commend Open Doors as a worthy charity to support, both financially and prayerfully, I trust them completely to use my donations wisely and ensure they go where they are needed most.
Thanks, Ian T

I read "God's Smuggler" as a child, the story of the founder of Open Doors. Then, a few years ago, I was moved to donate and volunteer because of Open Doors' work helping persecuted Christians around the world. And, I love the fact that, although Open Doors started smuggling Bibles into countries where Christianity is persecuted, Open Doors now also provides food and shelter to Christians displaced by persecution, provides counselling for the victims of persecution, provides training, education, and, of course, Bibles still to our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

I first heard of Open Doors USA when I saw a list of the top ten countries when Christians are persecuted, and felt that I should dig deeper into what they do. This was several years ago. At the time, I was very convicted and moved with the support that Open Doors USA gives to persecuted Christians around the world, but felt unable to contribute, as I had no income at the time, being a child. I promised that, once I started earning money, I would contribute financially to Open Doors USA. That day has since happened, and the last several years have been quite exciting, knowing that I am playing a part, however small, in helping persecuted Christians know that they are not alone. I have also seen how God has been faithful both to persecuted Christians, and to those who help them.

My experience with Open Doors has been very positive. The work they are doing is hard and often dangerous, and they do it with grace, love and perseverance. They help Christians around the world connect with each other, and in so doing, connect our one body with Christ. On the surface, this issue might seem narrower than it actually is. Firstly, there are over 2.3 billion Christians in the world; therefore, the sheer number of people potentially affected is high. Secondly, as Bishop Barron said, “There were more Christian martyrs in the twentieth century than in all of the previous nineteen centuries combined. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and many of their lesser-known totalitarian colleagues put millions of Christians to death for their faith in that terrible hundred-year period. One of the saddest features of the still-young twenty-first century is that this awful trend is undoubtedly continuing. By far the most persecuted religious group in the world today are Christians, and they are dying by the thousands especially in the Middle East and in Africa.” Lastly, regardless of one’s personal position regarding Christianity or religion, we can all agree that the freedom to practice one’s faith in peace is a fundamental right that belongs to all. By supporting Open Doors, I am supporting more than my faith or other Christians, specifically the persecuted church, I am supporting all of mankind, as I assert both the Judeo-Christian and the Enlightenment understanding of the human being – one that states that the person has certain inalienable rights and freedoms to include religious freedom.

Open Doors is a great resource for understanding what is happening in countries hostile to Christianity. They send daily and monthly prayer updates so that those of us in open countries can pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters.
Of even greater consequence, Open doors provides on the ground support in many of these countries, offering direct aid to Christians in need. This may be food, shelter, medical aid, and especially Bibles and Christian literature.
I have been an Open doors supporter and have profited from their updates for many years. I recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to know more about persecuted Christians and to get involved in praying for and helping them.

I am so thankful for groups such as Open Doors that bring news to us of our brothers and sisters across the world. And I praise God for the opportunity to partner with them in prayer and in giving as they minister to the persecuted church and continue to share the gospel.

The app, as well as the emails, offer some very practical help in my prayer time. Earlier this year, I was pleading with God to breathe new life into my prayers. Open Doors has been one very precious part of His answer.

My heart has been broken for the lost, for the persecutors, and for the persecuted. And I rejoice to join with all of my fellow siblings in Christ, in the hallowing of God's name.

To be able to focus my prayers on a specific person or family or group or city, is so helpful to the focus of my prayer time. And I gain so much more than I give.

Here is something specific that has been given to me: the knowledge and understanding of just how necessary it is to pray without ceasing.

A little over a year ago, I felt God leading me to pray for persecuted Christians around the world. Open Doors USA has been an invaluable resource. I promptly memorized their list of the 50 countries where persecution is the worst so that I could pray for Christians in those countries daily. Their annual report on these countries tells me what Christians there are facing and offers prayer points for each one, as well as describing what is happening in terms of persecution globally. This year's report focused on the "double persecution" suffered by women around the world.
You can choose weekly and/or daily updates to stay apprised of current events, such as the 2019 bombings in Sri Lanka. I love the daily prayer app which often includes testimonies of those who have suffered. I am in the habit of asking, "Lord, teach me how to pray." It's been humbling to see how many times believers I have never met have received answers to specific prayers the Lord led me to pray. I'm SO THANKFUL for this connection and the on-going work around the world, often clandestine, that Open Doors does to provide aid and relief to those who are persecuted.

Why do I believe in the mission of Open Doors?
As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior I've lived in an environment where I've been blessed with sound biblical teaching. I started realizing that the body of Christ, the Church, is more than just those I know or have become acquainted with, but exists through out the whole world. As I started becoming more and more exposed to the work of Open Doors and the persecution and suffering of millions of other Christians I realized I wanted to help. I have never experienced persecution (yet). But what I've learned is that when one part of the body suffers the whole body hurts. So if I can help alleviate some of the pain, sorrow, and heartache of other believers in the body of Christ I will. They need to know that others care and want to help them so they can persevere in the hope and faith and grace and mercy the Lord has given them. I think Open Doors serves this role in an exceptional way. Open Doors is meeting the spiritual and material needs of those most deserving of it - the persecuted.

Open Doors informs its supporters of urgent requests for prayers so that we are aware of the persecutions going on in various countries and can lift up brothers and sisters who need the Lord's help and strength right away. I like its Christmas Gift Catalog because it lets me know the works they are doing - running safe houses, giving children a chance for an education, providing trauma support, getting Bibles to those who need God's Word, teaching poor widows a skill so that they can be self-sufficient and supporting Bible students. I am impressed that the ground workers can reach suffering believers quickly to give financial support, and pay exorbitant fines imposed by authorities. I am grateful that Open Doors is able to help believers in North Korea. The monthly prayer calendars give us an opportunity to fight battles through prayer, as well as to praise God for what He is doing. Where do I begin? I began praying for Open Doors, then found out that I could pray for countries on their World Watch List daily by downloading the list! I also receive Standing Strong Through the Storm lessons in my daily emails, which shows a scripture, and the particular way(s) that a believer, believers, and or church(es) are living out that scripture in their daily lives. The stories of how believers and non-believers alike in countries around the world where Christians are most persecuted, are being ministered to by Open Doors is nothing short of amazing. Miracles happen all of the time through their ministry in the lives of the people from these countries where persecution is so extreme. Many of them say that they know that we are praying for them just because of how God intervenes in their lives. I am also encouraged by the stories that Open Doors shares of these severely persecuted believers praying constantly, boldly sharing the Gospel with their fellow countrymen, and just living out the Christian life. I also hear stories of how these people have received assistance with daily needs and encouragement from believers in the west, who have sent letters and cards to them, when they were destitute, and how it encouraged them in the Lord, and kept them from losing faith. Open Doors is truly a God-given blessing to people all over the world! God is using them mightily to further his kingdom!

My first knowledge of Open Doors came from Brother Andrew’s biography. I read it to my foster children, then I began supporting them. The knowledge of, and the personal testimonies of the persecuted caused great grief in my soul. I prayed for them everyday and often awakened during the night to pray. Through my persecuted brothers and sisters I learned what the true church is supposed to be; obedient always no matter the cost. I have found encouragement from reading about their faithfulness unto death, because I could trust that God the Father would also give me courage unto death. I do not have much money, so I chose to give my offering to Open Doors , because that is what I would want others to do for me and my family when persecution happens in my country. I read Brother Andrew's book God's Smuggler years ago, so I was familiar with the persecuted Church. But it is very rarely mentioned in the American church. I also have an aunt who smuggled Bibles behind the Iron Curtain in the 70's.

I have been saying that I discovered Open Doors by accident, but God's plans are no accident. He planned it for me to discover Open Doors through Facebook. When I first gave to charity I did so blindly, assuming that my dollars we're helping the less fortunate. But receiving expensive mailers every month led me to question how much of my money was actually helping. So I did my research and found Open Doors. I am so thankful for these people who helped me to help those I can't myself. To their credit I am thankful I've never received an expensive mail out flyer or brochure, keep up the great work guys!

I have known the people in the Open Doors organization as I was travelling with them behind the Iron Curtain to serve the persecuted church there in the 1970s. As I spent time on the Open Doors base, I was impressed by the spiritual sincerity and integrity of the staff. Integrity is built into this organization at the very foundation and this characteristic has endured throughout the years. I believe they have one of the lowest percentages of funds going to administrative expenses among all the different non profit organizations. They truly serve those to whom they are called.

My parents were Quaker ministers, & briefly stateside, Missionary Teachers @ a Native American school in Arizona. After we moved back to WA state, my parents took us to see many different speakers of renown in the Christian world (i.e. Corrie Ten Boom, Richard Wurmbrand, & Brother Andrew-before Open Doors) when they would come to Seattle. My mom gave small monetary support to many different missionary efforts. I am trying to honor her & God by following in her footsteps. She was a woman of great faith & compassion, and I thank God I was raised by humble parents of virtue.

My wife Linda and I have supported the persecuted church for about 25 years now. We met Nobel Alexander ( prisoner in Castro's Cuba for many years...he wrote "I Will Die Free") a few years ago. All he had to do was tell the authorities he would not preach the gospel and he could be free. He would not. God used him greatly in prison. I am just completing a class on the persecuted church in our church. We are using a couple of books by Nik Ripken for the class....'The Insanity of God' and 'The Insanity of Obedience'. Both have really been faith building. To see what God is doing among so many Muslims and in China, in particular, has been amazing. I am now working with an orphanage in Kenya. Their faith and prayer lives are what give these vulnerable children protection and confidence in the Lord. We want to be able to help the persecuted church wherever we can. David Nehlsen

This organization has assisted and supported human rights and freedoms for peoples suffering persecution for their beliefs. Many who work with Open Doors do so at great personal risk, all to support, help and encourage others suffering for their faith. Thirty eight years ago my husband and I began to suppport Open Doors Ministry after learning how Christians in Communist China were being persecuted and not even allowed to have a bible. My heart went out to these people, and with my husband's support became involved with the ministry which included trips to deliver bibles to suffering Christians and to serve on the board of directors. To see tears of joy as these Christians held God's word, which had been denied to them, showed me the importance of getting God's word to those who so desperately wanted it. Now thirty eight years later, the need for God's word is still so great and we rejoice in helping Open Doors fill that need.

I credit Open Doors and their ministry for the decision my husband and I made 10 yrs later to go as missionaries into the newly liberated countries of Lithuania and Romania. We also supported Operation Pearl where millions of Bibles were smuggled into China. Now 40 yrs later we are still supporting and praying with them as they go throughout the world to help the persecuted church. It was back in 2001 that I started with Open Doors to be a prayer leader warrior with a group of about six ladies. We met every Tuesday and prayed for the persecuted brethren around the world. I believe that prayer group is still meeting together.
I left the church where I lead that ministry and now attend another and have tried to continue it but has not come about at the church I attend now.
I have been and still pray for our persecuted brethren every day. I receive the Open Doors Prayer Force Alert and use it as my guide to pray. I also have a list of ten ways to pray for them as well. When special requests come up by email, I try to put them on my prayer list and pray every day for those.
I thank you so very much for the webinars of which one I just heard tonight. I have attended Voice of the Martyrs Conferences as well. I pray with a team daily each morning and we never forget to pray for their safety and that their needs are being met. We are praying that doors will be opened and declaring that the gospel will preached in every nation. The Bible says that when we decree a thing it shall be established and because we are praying God’s will it shall be done. I am just an ordinary American who is a born again Christian. Seeing what has been taking place in our country since the turn of the 21st century, I have become much more aware of a need to do more in my Christian life. As I always do, I prayed about it and asked the Lord to reveal to me more ways I can further his Kingdom. One day an email showed up from Open Doors that really spoke to my heart. I had already been praying for persecuted Christians in the middle east as it was a time when ISIS was butchering Christians by the millions, men, women, and children. I immediately recognized that Open Doors was a way I could help the situation not only in the Middle East but I could help persecuted Christians all around the world. So I made the decision to get involved in the outreach Open Doors does.
I soon found that this ministry to persecuted Christians is a much larger organization than I first anticipated. Their ministry contains many facets of help. They physically help Christians around the globe with food, medicine, a place to live, and what I consider a must do, they provide physical Bibles by smuggling them to those who can't get them in countries that have banned their ownership. They promote Bible studies and learning about the Gospel. Also, they have those who visit persecuted Christians in prisons for their faith in our Lord.
All of their activities are geared to helping God's people in countries where it is not legal to practice faith in our God and his Kingdom. But they also perform a great service to those of us who are lucky enough to live where practicing our faith is not persecuted.
They have an internet presence that keeps those of us who care informed of their progress and stories of how many have kept their faith in spite of all the persecution. These stories help to bolster my own faith and help teach me how important it is to encourage those of the world who aren't as lucky as I am. I feel that Open Doors is highly worthy of the support of all of us who consider ourselves part of God's Kingdom and the Church of Jesus.

Prior to hearing news about terrorist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram, I never really thought about persecution of Christians in the 20th or 21st century, except maybe in one or two countries like China or North Korea. As I began hearing more and more news about these groups killing Christians, I began to have a growing concern for Christians in other countries. I found out about the ministry of Open Doors and how they support Christians in these persecuted areas of the world and I decided I wanted become more involved. I wanted to become more knowledgeable about what is going on in the world as it concerns persecuted Christians and I wanted to help Open Doors fulfill their promise to these persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, to support them spiritually through prayer and getting bibles and other Christian literature into their hands, to support them emotionally by letting these brothers and sisters know that they are not alone, and to support them materially by helping to provide needed assistance, wether it be via food distribution, medicine or helping them rebuild their homes after groups like ISIS and Boko Haram have destroyed them. This is why I have supported Open Doors for the past several years and why I believe other Christians should as well. This is a world-wide charity that serves Christian families, both heavily and not so heavily
persecuted. They bless Christians in "hot spots" of the world by providing Holy Bibles, food,
and other much-needed spiritual and physical support to people where family members
have been murdered, imprisoned, and other-wise tortured and forced to flee jobs & homes.
Some believers have come away from being Muslim or Hindu-based beliefs, and had painful
separation from family that won't accept their changed hearts toward Jesus Christ. Open
Doors also serves those who have more religious freedoms, by sending these stories, prayer calendars about the prayer needs, and opportunities to financially lift Christians up that need our support in these last days before all our judgments will be final, the plagues
come after the mark of the beast, and Jesus comes for those who have loved Him through their love toward "the least of these."--See Matthew 25:31-46.

I was just a very young Christian when I first heard Brother Andrew and the plight of Christians around our world. During my life, I had the opportunity to work and live overseas for multiple years. A real eye opener to me.

I'm older now, I travel very little, but the flame still burns for my brothers and sisters across the globe. That is why I am so thankful for the continued work of organizations like Open Doors.

Their constant borage of emails and monthly prayer lists serve as reminders of my duty, yes, scriptural duty, to pray and seek my Father's face in behalf of my persecuted brothers and sisters. I try to pray daily for the needs of fellow believers overseas. Their testimonies remind me that I, too, am able to persevere in my faith and be a leader and ambassador for Jesus in my own community. If my family in Christ can suffer and pass through the fire, then so can I. My walk with God is better because I know their stories and I get to pray for them! Thank you Open Doors for sharing the needs of the Persecuted Church with us Westerners.

As a young believer, back in the 70’s, Brother Andrew was one of my hero’s. I helped a little back then, addressing envelopes containing scripture portions to be sent behind the “Iron Curtain”. I had every intention of becoming a missionary myself. Life got in the way and there was a different path for me to walk. Now that my family is grown, and the world scene is ripe for persecution, even in this country, what better way to honor our messiah then reach out to those suffering for His name sake. What better way then to give to those whose lives have been put on the line. We may be in their shoes one day. What better way then to help those who are thirsty for The Word, get Bibles. We must use the freedom we have now to help those who have little or no freedom. “To whom much is given, much is required”. What better way to give then through “Open Doors”, either financially and/or by writing letters. Every little bit helps. God bless!

About 6 years ago I started speaking from the pulpit as my Pastor gave me the opportunity to speak about Persecution on a routine basis. I often turned to the World Watch List and used other resources available by Open Doors to present to the congregation. I have also used the Letter Writing Campaign to help our congregation get involved on a personal level. I appreciate the opportunities for the webinars. I am scheduled to tune in tonight (10/11/18)

I had the opportunity to travel with Open Doors to Chiapas Mexico a few years ago. Yes, it was a trip of a lifetime but I was disappointed that we did not spend any time in prayer as a group. We were constantly on the go. I think we covered too much territory in a short time.

All in all, though I am grateful for the ministry of Open Doors and other ministries that help me grow in my knowledge and committment to those "who share our faith but not our freedom."

I searched Christian organizations that had the best record and it came down to three organizations that we already support on a sometimes basis. Out of those three we chose Open Doors because my husband had smuggled Bibles into Russia in his youth and has always appreciated Brother Andrew. I have been personally exposed to the fear and hopelessness people have without God in their lives and the loving hope the gospel affects in a Communist society such as China. I lived there from 2012 to 2015 and have seen first hand the government persecution that Open Doors reveals to the Church in the West. There is a great persecution happening in China now with the closing of even government sanctioned official churches as well as any home gatherings of Christians. Believers are being arrested and forced to declare their allegiance to their supreme leader, Xi Jinping. The Bible is being rewritten to reflect China’s cultural norms and government expectations of loyalty to China first then God, if at all. Open Doors does a great job of revealing persecution of Christians around the world with their well illustrated monthly newsletter which includes real people’s life experiences. They do a wonderful job of supporting persecuted Christians materially and spiritually by putting people on the ground in those countries. I feel privileged and very blessed to support Open Doors in their mission to uplift and support our suffering brethren wherever they live. We are so blessed in America to have freedom to worship our God publicly and in safety!!!

It was a week of studying Future Prophecies, I had been studying Jewish themes of Eschatology, I have loved missionary work that others could do, but I could not., my disability get in the way. I have always been a fisher of men for many years off and on. My passion was the dangerous journey of being controversial and fearless when I talked about Christ coupled with gentle tact. It was stirring in my heart to read about Martyrs for Christ as I studied other things, I had Brother Andrew book Gods Smuggler for many years 35 plus years, pages have turned brownish yellow, now. At times, I have wanted to truly suffer for Jesus because I felt my Christianity wasn’t commendable or without faults like mentioned in Revelation chapter 2 of the Church @ Smyrna. Upon finishing God Smuggler by brother Andrew I realized immediately that this is the life I longed for; to risk, to wrestle with God, to dare the devil and to outwit wicked mankind with the simplest Gospel of any Language known to man, the Life of Messiah, Jesus. But I could never be a Peter, Paul or Andrew Gods faithful martyr. But I could be a partner in prayer, tears, finances, worry, insomnia, fasting, wrestling to the point of depression in agony for the Saints upon hearing and seeing the senseless, selfishness of mankind acts upon another and with many days of anguish, my soul hurts and my thoughts consumes me as I drive to the doctors office, drive to the store, eat the best of healthy foods and own the comforts of life and my spiritual family are tortured, lost, lonely, without food, water, and the list goes painfully on, and on.... I can’t help but look at myself with a critical eye scoping my existence and I am brought to another scripture of James 1:27, “Pure Religion and undefiled before GOD (Jesus) and the FATHER is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their afflictions and to keep himself unspotted from the world “.. I have traveled to nine countries and have survived fatherlessness amongst other terrible blights in my own journey, BUT a Martyr fits this this Scriptural description of worthiness more than anything in Christianity I have ever witnessed. Open Doors USA brings me great joy and Brother Andrews legacy has changed my life.

I have donated to Open Doors and will do so again in the future because they help persecuted Christians with what I call "special forces" on the ground. I have live heard webinars where these "special forces" detail their work helping persecuted Christians. And many Americans who live in a nation where freedom of religion is the norm have no idea what governments in what countries persecute Christians. These Americans (and people from other free nations as well) must be made aware of the persecution of Christians , and Open Doors is the best organization to do that. My name is Cathy Witthoeft. I first became aware of Open Doors by assisting with donations processing in the first location in downtown Fargo. This is also where I met Roger and Pam Sorensen who ran Open Doors for several years until retirement a few years ago. All were welcome there and many needy and even homeless people were cared for through donations, talking, sharing Christ, free bread and rolls, helping them ‘shop’, etc.
Our church, SonRise Evagelical Free in Ada, MN voted to accept Open Doors in Fargo as an ongoing ministry we would support. Twice or more I had the wonderful opportunity to do an afternoon session of outreach in the community at Fargo Forum where clothes were provided (especially for interviews), Bibles were given freely, a chance to speak to someone about your life was provided to those who wished to take it, lunch was served at no charge, tips and ideas about interviews and jobs given, new socks, shampoo and soaps.
This was a great opportunity to help others. I also enjoy bringing donations into Fargo from our church. This truly led me to become involved with Open Doors International in prayer and influence. Thank you for having me. I felt loved and needed. God bless you.

All Christians should be involved with missions. Jesus was a missionary, Paul and Peter were missionaries, yet the American church seems to have forgotten that there have always been missionaries, risking their lives to reach unreached people, and we need to remember today's persecuted church seeing that was the scenario with Jesus and the early apostles. Open Doors is a ministry that works with, serves, teaches, and meets the needs of our brothers and sisters who risk their lives to follow Jesus Christ.

Admittedly I was giving to another charity whose mission appeared to be the same that got caught up with a scandal. I asked a "dedicated" friend for another recommendation and thus Open Doors. I was looking for an organization that was financially responsible with money I make (after I do work hard for my money) but more importantly, it was the purpose of the money that pulls at my heart. God has blessed me in so many ways and I know there are many brothers and sisters of mine that are not able to do what I can because of the persecution. Bible states in Galatians 6:10 "Therefore, as we have opportunity let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith". What more precious way can we help than those who desperately need our help because of persecution because of their faith. God in this case blesses us both but ultimately the persecuted are more so as their final reward is on the other side of heaven but I want to help them whatever I can and pray God uses me and Open Doors to bless them now.

Several years ago I read about many, many Christians being persecuted. I read many of their stories. At this same time the Holy Spirit was showing me scripture which made me understand that all believers belong to the Body of Christ. We are brothers and sisters...one family. It hit me hard. My heart became very burdened for my persecuted brothers and sisters. I started a weekly prayer group to have prayer just for them. I came across some Open Doors literature and what they were doing to help the Body. I knew this was where I wanted my small amount of money to go each month and when I had extra to give. OD gives me information as to how my brothers and sisters are managing even amid horrible conditions, plus ideas for prayer. Brother Andrew is a saint. He, through his organization Open Doors, has been providing bibles for half a century, to people who would have otherwise never have had one. That in essence, is what Jesus commands us to do - share the word. Open Doors also trains and equips preachers to places where preachers would otherwise be unheard of. There are many organizations who today do what Open Doors does, but Open Doors was first - and the best. It is my opinion after having researched ways to help spread Christianity, that Open Doors is #1 on the planet in what they do. Hello,

I'm writing to introduce you to Open Doors USA, in the event you have not heard of them. I have been contributing to Open Doors for a number of years, having first encountered them when attending Ward Church in Novi, MI. Open Doors is a non-profit organization focused on serving persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries, providing training to indigenous pastors, care for women and children, and those traumatized by years of incarceration, beatings or burnings. Open Doors supports believers, and leaders imprisoned, abducted, beaten or threatened for the message of Christ. Many are suddenly arrested or abducted in front of their young children, who are left with nobody at home to take care of them for months or even years.

I have been so impressed by Open Doors' organizational skills, and their effective yet discrete use of media and technology to both inform and inspire participation in their efforts. Their World Watch List is particularly informative (https://www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persecution/world-watch-list/).
Open Doors USA rates 3 out of 4 stars in Charity Navigator ( https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=4264 ).

It would be difficult to match the significance and impact of their efforts on a global scale, as estimates place the number of Christians suffering severe persecution at 215 million worldwide (https://www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persecution/stories/215-million-believers-persecution-for-their-faith-in-christ/) .

While we in the United States certainly have our family and society crises, they pale in comparison with those faced in the world at large, and I have gained a better perspective on these issues by participating with Open Doors. I have come to value much more dearly our freedom to worship in safety, and to be able to teach our children without exposing them to terror. I am constantly in awe of the raw courage, and deep faith of the people that Open Doors has helped over the years.

Open Doors offers a free, easy to use downloadable prayer app ( https://www.opendoorsusa.org/prayerapp/), and every few days introduces three or four persecuted Christians from various countries, giving their brief stories and prayer needs.

They also offer a monthly prayer calendar ( https://www.opendoorsusa.org/take-action/pray/monthly-prayer-calendar/ ) .

Open Doors promotes individual as well as group participation in their efforts. For group participation, see https://www.opendoorsusa.org/take-action/churches/signup/ . Participation opportunities range from monetary donations to individual and corporate prayer, or to community organizing/awareness roles.

The Open Doors website also includes a library of brief and engaging videos (https://www.opendoorsusa.org/videos/) which includes stories of victory and gratitude, as well as stories of ongoing crisis, that would be appropriately shown to groups of all ages.

I would encourage anybody interested in broadening their awareness of the world, or desiring to heal a broken world, to consider involvement with Open Door USA.

Sincerely,

Linda Mohler

However when I read about the persecution of Asia Bibi, the Holy Spirit used her life's story to not only convict me regarding my neglect but to stir, within me, a passion to pray daily for my brothers and sisters who suffer daily, for the Name of Christ, and to support legitimate, front-line ministries with a sterling track record of success.

Open Doors became my obvious first-choice.

Not only do I pray for you (as well as persecuted saints) daily, I've encouraged many others (over the years) to pray for and support this outstanding ministry financially as well.

Of course, I've never regretted that decision for a single moment-and actually thank God He moved upon my heart to do so.

I ran across Open Doors a few years ago and as I looked further into their ministry I found out how much their were doing to support persecuted Christians around the world. God has laid these people on my heart a number of years ago so I wanted to do something to assist them meet the needs of these Christians that are facing so much for Christ. I wish I was able to give more to support this ministry but we have been a small donor each month for some time and feel like we are doing a little to help.

My interest in people groups, cultures and languages began when our family moved to Japan when I was 7-10 and continued as we sailed around the world in a yacht my dad built there. When I was led to Christ by an American missionary in a Chinese church in Japan while attending a bilingual university, I already had an international mindset and I fell in love with sharing Jesus Christ with people of every country.

I don't know how many years ago I became aware of Open Doors and starting subscribing to their magazine, reading and praying through every article, watching their videos and identifying with persecuted believers. (I always wear the "ONE WITH THEM" wristband though I think they have been discontinued). Open Doors has given us opportunities to write letters appealing for freedom for imprisoned believers and to post prayers for them. We have donated to many of their causes.

My husband Jerry and I live in Long Beach, which is an amazing intersection of nationalities. We have found websites--Scripture Earth, Pocket Testament League, Every Tongue.com--from which we get links to the Bible, translations of John 3:16, or can buy gospels and New Testaments in other languages. On our morning walks and everywhere else we go we carry gospels of John in English, Spanish, Khmer, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese (including a manga version!), Arabic and Farsi. (Have yet to find Tagalog.)

We had a chance to help teach English conversation for 3 months to citizens from one of the World Watch list countries. One of them had become a believer in his home country through God speaking to him in dreams. He came to his first church service at our church, took his first communion and was awed to be handed his first New Testament--in his own language! He wanted to be baptized back home. I was able to warn him before he went home that since he left the government has been cracking down on Christians there and he needs to be wise and careful about living out his faith.

I am currently running a series on forgiveness on my blog hiddeninjesus.wordpress.com and have posted several of the Standing Strong Through the Storm emails I receive in that series. To date (since 2012) my blog has attracted over 103,687 visitors from 188 of the 195 countries in the world. And of those 188 countries, I have had multiple (or repeated) visitors from 40 of the 50 countries on the World Watch List, from 10 or less per country to hundreds (Mexico, Indonesia. Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia) to 1,148 for India.

I just realized the other day that if you count my reading about, praying for and writing to persecuted Christians (through my blog), I am a full-time volunteer for the persecuted church, thanks to the inspiration and resources of Open Doors!

Open Doors puts a face on the persecution of Christians. The support they provide is short term to solve immediate problems.but they also provide long term solutions. This might take the form of a safe house immediately coupled with a micro loan to start a small business. Highly recommend.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to help support Open Doors! Through this program, I am able to support fellow Christians who are unable to provide basic human needs for themselves and their families. It helps me be aware of the persecuted Christians throughout the world and suggests ways to pray for them and support them with notes of encouragement. I have especially enjoyed the webinars in which I am able to join other people from around the world to pray specifically for people in areas of the world suffering from persecution because they are Chrisitians! The webinars are also very informative as they are usually hosted by someone who has "boots on the ground" and can really help give incite into the needs of the Christians in that location. I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of this ministry. I hope that I will be able to partner with them to support persecuted Chrisians around the world for the rest of my life!

I read God's Smuggler by Brother Andrew in the 80s, and have been delighted to support his ministry with the same purpose: to risk it all to reach followers of Christ in need, and to spread the Gospel. It's an honor to support such a great ministry that's so close to our Lord's heart.

With a missions -minded focus and a heart for the hurting, oppressed and down-trodden, it was my exposure to Open Doors prayer calendar for the persecuted around the world that caught my attention. What a powerful way to join together in showing support for the persecuted church!
I have since come to more deeply value the practical support Open Doors provides these very vulnerable ones, inviting us to give so supplies and bibles can be offered and strong encouragement shown through an army of prayer warriors.
The regular updates and current prayer needs made known through newsletters, prayer calendars and most recently the PRAY app make our prayers more focused and urgent.
I am so very thankful for this organization that informs and meaningfully equips us to be fellow ministers to others we may never meet in this life.

I really appreciate how Ope Doors updates people as to what is happening to persecuted Christians around the world and the work they do to help and support them. It also helps us know who specifically to pray for and what their needs are.
Whenever I read about the persecuted Christians in other countries my problems pale in comparison and reminds me to thank God for the freedom we have here to worship and to speak to others about our faith.

I found open doors through brother andrews books. I've been giving to them for years and found open doors a reliable source of news on the persecuted church. Not only do they help, encourage and train those who face hardship for their faith. They help me connect to them through opportunities to pray and awareness of levels and types of persecution in the world. Also organizing events and giving us a place to send personal letters so we can be a part of the work as well. I plan to continue to support them for the forseeable future.

I am very pleased with the way Open Doors gives candid and up to date information about our persecuted Brothers and Sisters around the world. They also are very open about the needs of persecuted believers, and where the money goes that you give. I am blessed to be able to be involved with Open Doors.

I have been supporting Open Doors since I read Brother Andrew's book in the 1970's called GOD's Smuggler. I was amazed about how the LORD used Brother Andrew to get Bible's into countries where BIBLE's were not allowed. The monthly prayer requests for each day and the publication Frontline Faith help me with my prayers for Open Doors. I love this ministry and will support it until I go home to be with JESUS !

Open Doors has opened my eyes to the real struggles real people face simply because they are Christian, or simply because they don't benefit those who will stop at nothing in their selfish pursuit of power. Moved by these realities brought to light by Open Doors, anyone who is interested in helping those who suffer at the hands of others is enabled to do so through the informative Open Doors website, email updates, and letters.

Thank you, Open Doors, for helping the followers of Jesus Christ become better examples of His mercy, grace, and forgiveness!

As ISIS was sweeping across Syria and Iraq Congress held hearings and I watched on C-span. It was a small panel of persecuted minorities including a nun who had witnessed the persecution first hand and had been initially denied a visa as well as a young Yezidi woman who had escaped her ISIS captors; but what caught my attention was a young woman who was acting as a translator and facilitator for these women. This woman worked for an organization called Open Doors USA and I was curious what they were about and stood for. I learned that they not only helped persecuted Christians but monitored, ranked and recorded the new age of persecution that many of the forgotten Christians are facing worldwide. Not only do they provide the testament in their native language to the persecuted church but also counseling and spiritual support to those hungry for the Lords message. They also pragmatically provide support in the form of survival packages, micro loans and shelter to those in dire need. I like that they have challenge grants typically once a month for flashpoint missions such as Nigeria, Syria or Iraq where someone like me who doesn't make a tremendous amount, to have my meager donation matched by a generous benefactor. They also keep you informed on their site with both videos and articles with the impact of your donation. I was able to give some money to help rebuild a Christian town in Iraq and have my donation matched and see the impact online. This is a charity that has excellent ratings on various charity monitor sites and most important to me they allow you the option of where you want your money to go whether its spiritual resources or flesh and bone necessities like food, medicine or shelter. I came to the realization last year that as Christmas approached I had never given Jesus anything for his birthday and decided to make Open Doors part of my Christmas tradition for years to come.

For a long time I avoided persecuted Christian stories . I didn't want to believe that was happening, but God had an other idea. He challenged me to read and financially support Open Doors. I have done both and am spending my morning's praying for my persecuted brothers and sisters. I believe I am making a difference.

Great way to learn about the persecuted church and get specific prayer requests. Several times a year they host live interviews with Christians in persecuted areas. Always opportunities to write letters to specific Christians in need of encouragement. Great way to connect with brothers and sisters around the world.

Open Doors provides me with timely information about the persecuted church and persecuted believers who are in need of prayer. I feel privileged to support them financially as a way of being in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who suffer for the sake of Jesus Christ. I also greatly appreciate the daily devotional Standing Strong in the Storm, as it challenges me in my own faith as well as provides me with information I can share with the Bible study I lead.

Open Doors grew out of the clandestine efforts of Brother Andrew and others to smuggle Bibles into Russia to folks who had been deprived of the truth of Jesus Christ. It continues trying to bring the truth to ignorant peoples who need Jesus and his message. It also works to help persecuted Christians in well over 60 countries. As part of this effort, it publishes World Watch Monitor, a newsletter that reports on persecution in various places around the world. For many years, I have subscribed to those reports and shared them with an email list consisting of folks who will pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters. I especially value the work of Open Doors in this time when persecution of Christians shows no bounds and seems to be spreading throughout the world.
