My husband and I have been donating to Global Children for about 10 years. I work in the field of international development/humanitarian response and it is awesome to see a small organization having such a huge impact. We fund this organization for the simple reason that its reach extends deeply beyond what it actually does. By bringing the access and exposure of creativity, artistry, experience, knowledge, education to children and young adults is building the foundation for the future. It's building an educated workforce in Cambodia, for Cambodia, by Cambodians. It's bringing change and opportunity and building the future, not just trying to survive the present. That's why we love GC.
I have known Laura for over 15 years and had the pleasure of being a board member in the early days of Global Children. She is a passionate and dedicated woman who has created Global Children out of her desire to help the children of Cambodia who captured her heart when she first visited as a teenager. She also sought ways to preserve the rich Cambodian culture that was so decimated by the Khmer Rouge. I think that Global Children is an innovative and well-run organization that is doing great work in the world, and I am proud to support it.
I had a very bad work experience with Laura in which she acted very dishonestly. I wouldn't trust her with my money again if I had the choice. Beware.
It was a life changing experience to volunteer at Global Children. After graduating college, I was deciding what the next step should be in my life. Looking for different opportunities, I spoke with Laura about Global Children. It turned out to be a wonderful experience that I still remember on a daily basis. The organization works at offering students the ability to further their education. I helped them with university level English through writing and conversation. However they seemed to have helped me even more as I made some great friendships and a connection to a land I never though possible. Additionally, I worked with another partner organization that works with younger children in Phnom Penh to help them with an English conversation class. Global Children succeeds in building capacity through education allowing for a brighter future for the individual students as well as for Cambodia. As I am finishing up my Graduate Degree in Sustainable Development, I can not help but look back at the experience with Global children as the starting point for my life and my career. It is a great organization that is effective at achieving their goals and enhancing the lives of those students and their families. Global Children, Cambodia and the friends I made on my journey will always have a special place in my heart.

It was a dream come true when I found Global Children and Laura, the Executive Director of this fine non profit organization. I was in grad school at the time with the clear intention to create an international development program to serve an impoverished, rural area of Southeastern Jamaica. My professor knew about Global Children and encouraged me to contact Laura for possible collaborations. I am so glad I did! Not only did Laura take our project under her wing, sparing us from reinventing the wheel with the creation of yet another non-profit organization; she helped us make a difference in the lives of a community in need of having their basic needs met. Laura's compassionate heart guides her deep cultural sensitivity and lifelong commitment to this work. She has become an expert in international development and her brilliance helps others shine in their lives. Thank you, Laura, for changing lives for the better, truly making a difference in this world!
I don't know where to start. I used to work in a pharmacy, and my dream until I die will always be to work for the UN. I was speaking to a former customer of mine about my dream. She informed me that she runs a non-profit called global children that helps orphans in Cambodia receive the opportunity to go to school. Her name was Laura. Later on, I moved on to another job, but I never lost touch with a very human and down to earth Laura. I was invite to a fund raiser event, and I told her that not only would i attend, but I would volunteer with gusto. Initially I didn't know how to start, but they made me feel so welcome. Then I heard Laura talk about her cause...and when the tears started flowing, so did mine. When I met a young man who wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for global children, I knew I was in the right place. Support this cause. If nothing else, think about what would happen to your children if you weren't there to help them.
