Global Camps Africa creates extraordinary impact with its donor's dollars. For a relatively small investment, Global Camps Africa provides year-round programming that reaches HIV-affected children and youth in some of the most resource-limited communities in South Africa. Through its residential and day camp programs, its in-person and virtual youth clubs, and its targeted programs for young women's empowerment, early learning, and financial literacy and entrepreneurship, this organization is teaching life skills that are empowering South Africa's youth to lead healthy, productive lives and make a positive difference in their own communities!

I was selected to attend Camp Sizanani as a Vochelli a few years ago. I had know idea what I was about to embark on and only knew of Phil and the program and how remarkable it sounded.. Wow, it was the most life changing experience I have ever had working with the youth at camp. The most resilient children I have ever worked with! I still have friends that I met and stay in contact with. Global Camps Africa is really making a huge difference in my life and in the lives of youth. I am grateful to have served.

I am thrilled to support GCA. I recall being so struck by Phil Lilienthal’s receipt of the Ben Applebaum Advocate for Youth Award that I knew I had to find a way to engage in this amazing organization. As a now former camp director, it remains my number one priority to volunteer at Camp Sizanani and experience firsthand what I already know—Global Camp Africa’s ability to expand the traditional camp experience to those children who would never receive it another form is truly saving lives. The education and camaraderie provided to their campers is unparalleled and I give GCA two major thumbs up.

I have to agree with Dan Grove - Global Camps Africa is a remarkable organization that gets real results. I have known and admired its founder and president , Phil Lilienthal, and his family for almost 30 years. Their contributions to our local and global communities span several decades. When Phil told me about his latest venture, Global Camps Africa, I was thrilled and jumped in right away! There is no way to describe the positive impact of what GCA does for the kids. One has to volunteer for this organization to appreciate the enormity of the good that it accomplishes. Making a little contribution is also a great way to extend the reach and extend of the wonderful work the people of GCA do. I am very pleased that I can help whenever I can.

Global Camps Africa is a remarkable organization that gets real results. A strong testimony to this: it's founder and president, Phil Lilienthal, received the 2013 Sargent Shriver Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service, which recognizes a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who "continues to make a sustained and distinguished contribution, whether that be to humanitarian causes at home, abroad, or through innovative social entrepreneurial efforts to bring about significant, long term-change."
