The Glendale School District Education Foundation has made an incredible impact on education in the district. They provide wonderful opportunities for teachers to enrich their curriculum by providing grants for class projects, field trips, etc. They also offer many scholarship opportunities to our senior students to help with college expenses.
As a community member who has had the privilege of witnessing the incredible impact of the Glendale School District Education Foundation (GSDEF), I am thrilled to share my experience. The Foundation has consistently been a great asset to our school district, going above and beyond to support both students and educators. Through innovative programs, generous funding, and unwavering commitment, GSDEF has helped enhance educational opportunities and resources for our schools.
From providing scholarships to students, to funding essential classroom supplies, GSDEF has made a tangible difference in the lives of countless students and teachers. The Glendale Education Foundation is a wonderful asset to our school and our community. They host fun fundraiser events for our community to participate in to support our school district in a variety of ways. They provide a bounty of scholarships for our students and support teachers with reimbursements and grants for student betterment. I was able to purchase a variety of critical thinking puzzles and games to be used in my classroom. The students really enjoy them and they are gaining critical thinking skills in a fun manner. We are really lucky to have this foundation.
This foundation is amazing!!! They offer challenge grants to the teachers in the district and scholarships for students. They donate to the backpack program, many sports programs, the PTO and they sponsor breakfast for staff on in-service days as well as donuts for Teacher Appreciation Day. Cookie trays during the holidays and much more. They do too much to even list.

GSDEF is a wonderful foundation. They help so many in the community, and most of all our school district. They provide annual scholarships to to many students, grants to our teachers, breakfast on in-service days, staff appreciation, SWPB program, as well as our backpack program which provides food for students in need, donations to our playground fund and the list goes on. We are so lucky to have their support in our district.
I donate every pay and try to be a good donor. I feel its a worthy program and the students benefit greatly from it. Please donate as much as you feel comfortable doing and make Glendale a better School district for the kids !!

The GSDEF has had an extremely positive effect on both myself and my students over the past 18 years. They have helped fund many engaging, student centered activities. The beautiful murals in our elementary hallways are just one of the many projects they helped make possible. These walls are used every year as a learning tool for our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.
The organization does a huge service for students in a low-economic area. This organization can provide extra funds to teachers for classroom projects and necessary materials. For students, this group offers numerous scholarships for students to help offset the cost of not only post-secondary education but also post-secondary training programs for students who decide to enter the workforce.
The Glendale Education Foundation provides great fundraisers and ideas to give back to the community and to provide scholarships to students. They give out grants each year to teachers and they really do some awesome things with those.

As a teacher at the Glendale School District, the Glendale Education Foundation has awarded several grants to me over the years. With these funds, I have been able to purchase items and provide learning experiences for my students that they wouldn't have had otherwise. I have purchased class sets of novels and flexible seating options, scheduled a week-long visit from PA Farm Bureau/Penn State Agricultural Mobile Lab, taken students to enjoy a local musical theater production, and transformed a blacktop surface into a working playground. Without the Glendale Education Foundation, none of these projects would have been possible! They are a great asset to our teachers and students.

The Glendale Education Foundation has helped me to accomplish so many projects in my classroom that would otherwise have been unavailable due to lack of funding. This foundation has provided my children with opportunities to begin a recycling program at school, attend a local theater production, and participate in a week-long traveling science laboratory. The experiences that my students have been afforded have surely had an immeasurable impact on their educational careers.
It is great to see an organization so committed to the ongoing support of their school district. While many people graduate, go on with their lives and never look back, the GSDEF is stocked with not only community members but former Glendale students and staff that stick around and still cares what goes on here. The Glendale School District Education Foundation has given our staff and students learning opportunities by rewarding our students and staff of Glendale for educational achievement, academic excellence and innovation in so many ways. With the Foundation's support they have provided cash incentives, classroom challenge grants, venture grants, graduate scholarships and many other programs and resources. They have provided our entire staff breakfast at the opening of the new school year on our in service day. The Education Foundation board has a wonderful group of people on their board that provide excellent support for our entire Glendale School District.
Excellent support for projects in class that would have been impossible to do without their financial contribution. They helped support a startup plant class and now we are self sustaining!

The Glendale School District Foundation has provided a tremendous amount of support to the teachers, students, and community of the Glendale School District. The members have worked diligently to raise money through well planned enjoyable events in the community. The funds raised have allowed teachers to apply for mini grants through the foundation to plan educational events/activities for the students as well as scholarships for high school students. Each year our elementary school has in interdisciplinary theme that unites literacy and music and the theme was the British Invasion. Two years ago, I along with three other colleagues, wrote a grant to develop the reading and writing skills of students as well as develop their appreciation of music. The students were immersed in literacy and music activities that enabled them to learn about Britain as well as many of the musical influences from the British. The funds from the grant were used to pay a Beatles tribute band called The Cavern Club to perform for our students. Many of our students may never get to a concert so this event was a huge success. Our principal commented that she had not seen our students so excited during an assembly as they were for that one! Not only was the concert enjoyed by all but it was something the students could talk about with their families. A man in the neighborhood shared that his granddaughter in first grade called him after school the day of the assembly and excitedly shared that she had seen "The Beatles" at school that day. She wanted to know if he knew of them! This certainly bridged the generation gap! This event, as well as many others, that have taken place at our school would not have been possible without the Glendale School District Education Foundation. They care about the school and the community and their efforts are greatly appreciated.
I have been able to assist this great organization several times now. It is a joy to see how enthusiastic everyone is to provide a needed service to the community and school.

We are a proud small business that donates regularly and volunteers with the foundation. In doing so we receive a window cling that states we are a PROUD sponsor. We display this on our business door. I cannot even count the number of times a customer has brought up small talk by pointing out that window cling, and every one of them has a good story to tell. Seeing the families that this foundation helps makes me proud to be able to help them in any way.
The GEF has provided me with the means to create and perform some incredible concerts with our school’s choirs. From hiring instrumentalists, buying music, or giving us needed funds for special effects, our Glendale Education Foundation gives me the means to provide meaningful and purposeful additional experiences to our students and community. They always step up to the plate to provide for us, and only ask that we share their mission in return. We are blessed to have them in our corner!

The GSDEF does a fantastic job of supporting both the students and the teachers within the Glendale School District. The number of different programs/activities the Foundation sponsors is truly phenomenal. The Glendale Education Foundation fills a gap of need that serves the students, staff and community of Glendale School District in a variety of ways. Most recently during the pandemic when our teachers were quickly adapting and shifting to online learning, the GEF provided a valuable staff resource in purchasing us copies of "The Distance Learning Playbook" which provided insight and inspiration into how to make online learning meaningful and engaging. This is just one example of the ways the foundation steps up to support the Glendale school community, and have done so diligently for many years. As an administrator at GSD, I very much appreciate knowing this dedicated group of volunteers care so much about our school and work so hard to continue to support us year after year.
The Glendale Education Foundation, led by Executive Director Richard W. Snyder II, works to provide much needed funding for educational programs, special projects, academic awards, and scholarship opportunities for the students in the Glendale School District. The Foundation has developed an active role in the community with two popular fundraisers (annual golf tournament and winefest events) and numerous outreach programs, including the recently developed Glendale High School Alumni Registry which will eventually serve as a database for an official Glendale High School Alumni group. The GSDEF continues to be one of the strongest support groups for educational programs and scholarships that I've observed. Fund-raising for scholarships and grants, providing community-based support for back-to-school events and supplies distribution, and using social networking to broaden support for the implementation of challenge grants, special programs, and enlightening events for the entire community are just a few of the ways that the Foundation continues to provide a strong presence in the community. The more I learn about the GSDEF the more impressed I am with the tremendous work they perform. The foundation acts as an enabler for the students and educators. Their efforts provide students and educators with opportunities that they wouldn't necessary have if the foundation didn't exist.

As the Principal for our Elementary School, the GEF has provided outstanding resources not just in terms of financial, but also in terms of manpower, support and ideas for such a wide variety of activities and functions it is difficult to mention them all. From teacher grants, to our backpack program, to book giveaways, to our Schoolwide Positive Behavior, and many more. Our GEF members are truly a godsend and work very hard, even in retirement, to support the students and families in our district.
The Glendale Education Foundation offers numerous financial opportunities for the faculty and students of Glendale School District alike. Though their gracious support, the band was able to purchase a new camera and equipment for that camera so that we can record and archive our halftime shows, parades and concerts. The foundation is also a great resource of scholarships for graduating seniors in a school district. Many students attending trade schools and college need extra support to make that a reality. The foundation helps to make that a reality.
Glendale Education Foundation supports both academic and community based awards, as well as educational endeavors by both students and faculty!
The GSDEF is a great support for educational programs in the Glendale School District! Resources are used wisely and in a way that will benefit all students and learning environments in the elementary school and junior/senior high school. Community outreach is also commendable as a means of fund raising and promoting scholarship establishment and program sponsorship. Many students with specific needs are supported because of the GSDEF.

The Glendale Education Foundation has helped me provide meaningful classroom experiences for not only my individual classroom but for the entire elementary school. Through the foundation, my students have been able to participate in a mobile science lab, attend theater productions, and participate in character education activities. These activities would not be possible without their funding! The foundation's dedication and support is evident throughout our school community.
The G.E.F. does an amazing job of providing opportunities to the students and faculty of the Glendale School District. Every year they sponsor "Challenge Grants" of up to $500 for materials or programs that would enrich the students academic endeavors. I personally have applied and was awarded several of these grants to take students on field trips (guided tour of a wind farm and Carnegie Science museum) and acquire materials for laboratory units (UV attenuation for high school students and origami organelles for middle schools students). The G.E.F. also sponsors awards for students who achieve academic excellence as well.
I have had absolutely nothing but a positive encounter with the Glendale Education Foundation. I have been able to do so many incredible things with my students because of their funding. In addition, they allow me to team up with other teachers, sharing a grant idea, to benefit even more students. For example, here is how they are going to be funding my idea this year, which is above and beyond our normal curriculum.
I am theming my elementary concert and year with the theme “it’s a small world after all”. I got the idea when I took our HS choir to Disney world, and saw their response to Epcot’s World Showcase. The kids were in awe of the cultural foods, dances, and music that were represented authentically in the park. Since so many of our students are below various income levels, they would never have the opportunity to see this for themselves, so I’m bringing Disney World and cultural activities to the students!
I will be bringing in food, teaching them songs and games from other parts of the globe, and have them perform a concert in entirely different languages. They are going to be discovering and tracing their family lineage to see where their ancestors come from, and create activities from multiple counties per continent.
No of this would be possible without the addition funding of the Glendale Education Foundation’s challenge grants, and their willingness to invest in our students. They are top notch!
The Glendale School District Education Foundation is a pillar of support for our district that provides our rural area's youth and educators with the tools they need to build strong program foundations and cultivate growth. In my experience I have watched area students obtain scholarships through the Foundation, witnessed the Foundation generate and reward better school attendance records, provide grants to district educators and support the programs within our district that promote involvement, as well as goal setting and achievement. They are doing just as their mission statement "Leave a Legacy" boasts; they are leaving a legacy in each classroom and program they assist with, each child that program assists and most importantly, they aspire others to do good also.
I am a board member of the Glendale Education Foundation. I have been on the board for approximately two years. The people I serve with on this board are caring, conscientious individuals who genuinely want to help the students in our small rural school district have as many positive educational experiences as we can provide. We have made sure that every kindergarten and first grade child in our district receives a free book in order to impress upon them the importance of reading. Our foundation works hard as the channel through which beneficial scholarships flow to deserving students. We award grants for classroom projects which would otherwise not happen due to state budget restrictions. We have helped students participate in varied activities which would have been very difficult for their families to totally finance. I am proud to serve on this organization and I look forward to increased opportunities to help our students in the future. Diane Andrews
I have been both a recipient of a GEF challenge grant and a donor. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are to work with, and what a positive impact they make on our community and school. They keep our children as their number one priority, and make sure they can enhance what the school does by making extra money available for unique and extra projects. They are great, and I highly suggest donating to the wonderful students they serve!
As a social studies teacher, I see the importance and value of learning abou the past. As new students come in each year, less and less know about the tradegy that happened on September 11, 2001. This devasting terrorist attack that has changed our country forever is known by very few middle school students. With the help of the Glendale Education Foundation, we are able to take a field trip down to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to visit the Flight 93 Memorial. This is a wonderful opportunity for our sixth grade students to learn about the first time Americans fought back against terrorism. Without the Glendale Education Foundation, this would have never been possible. I thank the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, Richard W. Snyder II, for this wonderful opportunity.

I received a grant from the Glendale Eduation Foundation to purchase chairs that help students to focus during the school day. The project was called "Operation Focus" and really became a huge hit in my second grade classroom. Students are still using them and experiencing positive results to help them focus and remain on task!!! I am very thankful to the foundation for taking on such a project to help the students in our district.
I have been awarded the challenge grant through the Glendale Education Foundation a couple different times. This grant gave me the opportunity to purchase sensory items and Accelerated Reader books for my students. My students have been able to use these items year after year.
The Glendale Education Foundation continues to help teachers and students with their generous funding of quality educational programs and activities. The district is lucky to have an organization like this to partner with! This group is committed to helping the students of our community. Thanks for all you do!
