We have experienced the Fires in San Diego, but nothing like the devastation you have experience with Ian. We are a retired Mail Man and San Diego Sheriff's employee... people persons. It is the "regular" folks that seem to lose the most. We are donating money, but I am sending a box of several mens short sleeve shirls in XLG to you. These are rinse and wear silk shirts, my husbsand wore 1 - 3 times, and T-shirts, not worn out, not junk. Our goal is to lift you in your hour of need. We wanted to reach out and let you know that we care, as many watchers of GMA do. We will continue to donate money to your Food Pantry, as that puts you in control to buy what you need for your community. Also Feeding America, Flordia will receive a donation from us. Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: To provide food assistance to families in need in our community.
Programs: Our food pantry is open wednesdays each week from 11:30am-1:30pm and 5pm- 7pm. During the year we provided food to 4,720 families in the community. A total of 350,000 pounds of food was distributed. The pantry is a "choice" food pantry where the clients can shop with a volunteer as if they were in a grocery market. They are given choices of dairy items, fresh fruit and vegetables, canned goods, meats and breads. Our food comes from monetary donations as well as donations of food. Each week about 45- 50 volunteers stock shelves,accompany clients as they shop, load groceries, register clients, clean the store and do whatever is required.
