Causes: Health, Reproductive Health Care, Reproductive Rights
Mission: To provide comfort and companionship to low-income women with little or no support. This includes physical, emotional and informational support during prenatal, birth and postpartum periods.
Programs: Provided physical, emotional and informational labor support for approximately 40 low-income women through on-call hospital referrals and direct community referrals. Gals' unique partnership with local hospitals (and their respective care providers) is integral to reaching the low-income women who can really benefit from this type of support. Research shows that a mom who has a positive birth experience will bond better with her baby.
