Target demographics: We serve girls who are 8-13 years old and who come from a variety of backgrounds. More than half of our programs are in economically disadvantaged areas.

Programs: Accomplishments: girls impacted: girls on the run of the bay area has grown the number of girls served and programs offered by 32% compared to last year; this school year we offered 192 programs around the bay area and registered 2733 girls. Thats about 68,000 hours of self-esteem-building, playing outside, and learning fun and healthy lessons! Financial aid: as our programs have grown to more underserved parts of the bay area, more families have come to us requesting financial aid in order to participate. Eighty-six percent of the girls we served accessed scholarships this school year. Thats more than 2300 program participation scholarships. Shoe donations: we donated more than 500 pairs of new running shoes this school year to girls in need in the girls on the run program. Community support: we enlisted and trained more coaches than ever 601 fabulous coaches worked with us. Between our coaches, committee members, running buddies, race-day volunteers at the girls on the run 5k, and our office interns, we worked with about 2700 volunteers this school year!
