GOTR is a wonderful program. It provides young girls with tools to make healthy and smart decisions for themselves. It also provides a safe, encouraging and fun environment where every girl can be herself. I wish I had a program like GOTR when I was growing up, but the next best thing is being involved as a coach! I have coached for GOTR Dane County for seven seasons and it has been life-changing for me and for many of the girls I work with. GOTR Dane County works hard to ensure its programs are top notch and to reach every girl that wants to participate. I am proud to volunteer with this wonderful organization.

Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Children & Youth, Girls Clubs
Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Results: In 2012 we provided nearly $40,000 in scholarship support to over 300 girls.

Programs: Girls on the Run is the name of our organization, but we have two programs: Girls on the Run -- for 3rd-5th graders Girls on Track -- for 6th-8th graders The psychological research and principal philosophy behind both programs is the same, yet the depth of processing varies in order to be age appropriate. The Girls on Track middle school curriculum allows for more mature processing around certain topics including eating disorders, internet safety, cyber bullying and tobacco and alcohol use.
