Mission: Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Our mission is to provide a safe learning environment for girls to flourish by closing achievement and opportunity gaps of first generation, college-bound young women. GLOW Academy is a college prep and leadership school with a curriculum in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Our school is focused towards grades 6 through 12 and is expected to be up and running August 2016. We are devoted to advancing leadership and healthy life skills of young women while providing an environment for college bound success.
Programs: Young women leading provides a unique single-gender educational environment for 6th-12th graders in which rigorous, college preparatory education is offered. The program challenges students to live a balanced life that develops confidence and compassion, critical thinking and personal responsibility so they are inspired to become creative, ethical leaders.
