My Daughter Heather went to Girls Inc for 4 years. She enjoyed her time there with friends. I love the way they teach the girls how to become independent and confident in life. They had all different types of classes from cooking to quilting. They would take them to the library, museum & swimming during the summer or days off from school. It was the best place I every could have found to take care of my daughter while I worked. Thanks Girls Inc for everything.
Just bacame involved but have been impressed by the dedication to the girls by the staff. When I see the executive director smoothing out dollar bills for the girls to insert into the drink machine, it speaks to the fact that she is thoroughly engaged in helping with whatever needs to be done.
Girls Incorporated® is a nonprofit organization that inspires all girls to be
strong, smart, and boldSM. With local roots dating to 1950 and national status since 1945, Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle has responded to the changing needs of girls and their communities through research-based programs and advocacy that empower girls to reach their full potential and to understand, value, and assert their rights.
They provide the best and most structured after school care for your girl's. I only wish I had known about Girls, Inc. a long time a ago. Girls, Inc. has the most caring staff who really put your girl's best interest and well being first and foremost. They take the time to teach them skills that most working moms just don't have the time now a days to do and give them the opportunity to make lasting friendships. I highly recommend this facility and its care.
Working hands-on with the girls is something I take great pride in! Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle instills basic values such as friendship, honesty, and kindness through every activity. Here, it's a family of girls from all ages, all ethnicities, and all backgrounds!
I have worked with the girls at Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle for four years now. Girls Inc. is definitly a great help and resource to the community. Volunteering here has made a positive impact in my life. When I first started, I thought about what all I could teach the girls. Over time, I realize what they have taught me: compassion, generosity, patience, and the beautiful innocence of a child.
Working with Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle is a great experience! I love greeting the girls when they first walk in. I watch as they wave goodbye to their parents with huge grins on their faces because they know they will have a great day at Girls Inc. My favorite part of the day is watching the girls interact with one another, seeing our future leaders and the variety of character traits and skills they bring even to play time! Through our interactive programs, we really do teach the girls to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm. The girls I work with are Strong, Smart, and Bold!
