This is a WONDERFUL nonprofit Oranization!!! They go way beyond anything I have ever seen to suport Children!
It was important for me to make a difference in my community by helping young adults prepare for their future. Girl's Inc. of Tarrant County provided me not only that opportunity, but brought so much more. I saw a group of leaders passionate about helping these young adults by creating strong programs to prepare them for something "bigger." I saw mentors & speakers that overcame obstacles to achieve success. I saw young adults realize that the future was bright if they applied themselves. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me to be a part of this organization.
The sister to sister event was great. It was well organized and everyone was extremely nice with a great sense of humor. It was exciting to see so many girls come together with different backgrounds and some never meeting each other before, yet getting along so well. I think Girls Inc did a great job in bringing these girls together, teaching both the value of connecting with one another while learning about the importance of money.
While volunteering at the office I helped copy and put together packets for handouts at schools. I enjoyed the all day event and meeting the 7,8 & 9yr old girls. the girls learned about money, budgeting for needs, not getting everything they wanted but understanding the best practices with money. There were many activities and lots of discussions.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time volunteering with Girls Inc. of Tarrant County. They are very well organized and well run. I cannot wait to work with them again. I found that the staff was fantastic and extremely helpful in all aspects of my volunteer time. This organization definitely deserves the highest rating available!
This is a wonderful organization that does amazing things for the young ladies in the area! I am proud to be a supporter of this group & hope to become more involved soon.
The Sister to Sister event was my first volunteer opportunity with Girls, Inc. of Tarrant County. I was nervous because I wasn't familiar with any of the other volunteers, but I was welcomed with open arms. Most of the young ladies who attended the event were familiar with the volunteers and they had a very good rapport. The other ladies developed a good relationship with the volunteers as the day progressed. Overall, I was very impressed that the event was well-planned and thought out, and went very smoothly as a result. It was a pleasure working with the group and having an opportunity to interact with the young ladies.
