Mission: Girls Inc. fulfills its mission of empowering girls ages 6-18 to be self-confident, responsible and well-rounded individuals by delivering research-based, age-appropriate, after-school and summer educational and sports programs designed specifically for girls at the Girls Incorporated National Resource Center. Girls Inc. programs are designed to serve all girls regardless of their socio-economic, ethnic or religious background. Appreciation of diversity and acceptance of others is at the core of the Girls Inc. philosophy. The organization prides itself in offering girls multi-cultural experiences in a safe and harmonious environment.
Programs: Girls inc. Of sarasota county has been named the outstanding affiliate throughout the united states and canada, as well as achieving the coveted 4-star rating from charity navigator. We achieved these distinctions through center-based and outreach afterschool and summer programming that is research-based and age appropriate. Our primary goals focus on math/science/technology, career and life planning, health and sexuality, leadership and community action, sports and adventure, self reliance and life skills, and culture/heritage. Programs are designed to serve all girls regardless of their socio-economic, ethnic or religious backgrounds. For thirty-five years, girls inc. Of sarasota county has provided vital educational programs to thousands of girls. Girls inc. 's innovative programs help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential, and prepare them to lead successful, independent and healthy lives.
