Mission: The Girl Choir of South Florida (GCSF) presents the compelling sound of young women’s voices in outstanding performances, driven by a high quality music education program. We provide a supportive environment where girls, ages 4 through 18, learn how to read music skillfully, sing beautifully, and express themselves confidently. Through weekly rehearsals, workshops, events, and more, our singers develop a greater understanding of themselves, each other, and the world around them.
Programs: GCSF offers seven (7) weekly classes or rehearsals, tailored to members’ age and skill level. During these sessions, choir members prepare music for upcoming performances and build their understanding of music reading and choral singing. GCSF presents four (4) self-produced concerts annually, highlighting music written specifically by and for girls and young women. Fostering the creative voices of the choir members, GCSF frequently performs new music composed and arranged by members and alumni of the choir, in addition to commissioning new music from underrepresented composers. Through performances in collaboration with other organizations, GCSF engages the community at large.
