I first heard about Gift of Life at a donor recruitment drive at my undergraduate university in 2019. I swabbed that day and was found to be a match about a year and later! In 2020 I was able to donate for a bone marrow transplant and fell in love with the mission that the GOL embodies. The entire process was very well done, everything was explained in great detail, and all of the GOL representatives took excellent care of any needs that I had. This summer I was able to host my first donor recruitment drive at my school and really enjoyed participating in outreach for this great organization. Gift of Life continues to strive towards improving the lives of individuals with blood cancer and their families, as well as educating the public about how they can be a part of the process. I am extremely thankful that I was introduced to this organization several years ago and I plan on continuing to be a part of saving lives with Gift of Life for many years to come!
My experience with Gift of Life began in 2019 when I worked with as a Corporate Partner of our company, and we helped find 2 matches for Gift of Life recipients. The feeling of knowing you have impacted ones life is extremely rewarding, and when asked to join the Gift of Life team I couldn't have been happier and jumped at the opportunity.
Gift of Life is full of amazing people, with a shared value to impacting those who are affected by various forms of blood cancer. There is so much more to do, and Gift of Life also looks to use its resources to help find new ways of finding matches with the advancement of science/technology.
I can't wait to see what the future holds for Gift of Life, and how each day we are moving closer and closer to curing blood cancer in its various forms.
I first heard of Gift of Life at the beginning of 2024. After doing lots of research and learning as much as I possibly could about the organization I knew they were an organization that I wanted to fully support. I joined the registry as well and would love the opportunity to give someone the Gift of Life! What a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I signed up for the Gift of Life as a chance opportunity while at school. Little did I know it would change my life and my outlook on philanthropy and community service! I quickly matched with a Leukeima patient and was shipped to their Boca Rotan donor facility in Flordia! While there I triumphed over my horrible fear of needles, and had one of the greatest trips of my life to date. In additon to this the GoL assisted me in hosting my very own drive on campus to get even more people signed up. They have featured me on their social medias and let me know of ways I can remain involved. A fantastic organization with great leadership, intentions, and goals!
I have been working with Gift of Life since last year, but have been familiar with it for 5+ years. They are an amazing organization that works to help people save lives. Gift of Life is incredible as they work with donors and potential donors cost free, so economics is not a burden or a barrier to get involved.
I needed a stem cell transplant this past summer for treating leukemia. My daughter was my match and this led her to become a campus Ambassador for Gift of Life. She has already made a few matches from people she stabbed. We are very proud of her involvement in this very worthwhile organization.
Such an amazing organization! My friend just matched and is hoping to be able to donate and save someone's life!! They work every single day to successfully save lives and are doing an incredible job. Truly altruistic.
I currently serve as a Gift of Life Campus Ambassador at Binghamton University and it has been an incredible experience! This past year my father was diagnosed with CMML, and over the summer received a stem cell transplant donated by myself. My father was one of the lucky ones but there is such a large percentage of patients that aren't and rely on the registry for a chance at survival. Given this experience, my mission is to help as many families and patients as possible. I recently celebrated adding over 1000 donors to the registry with Gift of Life and I look forward to continuing to add as many more donors as possible
I first got in involved with Gift of Life in September of 2022 when I joined the national marrow registry through a drive at my sorority chapter meeting. In May 2023 I was motivated to become a campus ambassador at Auburn University following the death of one of my dear friends from leukemia who had a BMT. I’ve run drives to recruit donors on my campus, and in August of 2023 I got the call that I was a perfect match for a 65 year old suffering Myelodysplastic syndrome. I got to donate my stem cells to my recipient in December facilitated by Gift of Life. Giving the ultimate gift of life is an experience I will never forget, and I am forever thankful for my health, and the work Gift of Life is doing to help cure patients in need.
I have recently joined this amazing organization to help cure blood cancer and spread the word!! I am a campus ambassador at my college for Gift of Life and it’s truly an honor to be apart of it. I have learned many skills while taking on this role, and have helped numerous people with blood cancer find matches to give them another chance at life! This has been such an incredible opportunity and I want to continue to be apart of this for the rest of my life.
I’ve been interning at Gift of Life for two semester and this organization is great! I help organize donor drives and presentations and I’ve learned a lot and grateful for this nonprofit. It’s the best!
Gift of Life is a wonderful organization to be apart of. I am a GOL Campus Ambassadors and this internship is incredible. My mentor is fantastic and I love helping Gift of Life’s mission to end blood cancer.
As a Campus Ambassador for Gift of Life. It’s my honor to say that this organization is truly special! I’ve made many friends on the way and learned valuable leadership skills. The best part, I am helping cancer patients fight blood cancer!
I was a college student looking to complete some service, but I got much more when I started to work with Gift of Life. Everyone I worked with was great and helping such an amazing cause has been a dream come true.
If you are looking for volunteering hours, reach out to Gift of Life!
I have been working at Gift of Life for about a year and it's been a pleasure to work with such talented and dedicated people.
In my past experience, my everyday work was not noticed nor really made an impact. But now that I work at Gift of Life, I SEE my work go a long way, even helping save lives! I am fortunate to have met lifesaving donors and recipients and I am blessed to see that the work I do every day, is changing lives. It's so fulfilling! I encourage others to join Gift of Life’s mission or other great nonprofits such as this one.
As a volunteer for Gift of Life Marrow Registry, I've been privileged to witness their incredible work in the fight against blood cancer. What sets this nonprofit apart is not only its state-of-the-art facility but also its heartwarming offer to potential donors.
Gift of Life Marrow Registry operates a cutting-edge facility that reflects its commitment to excellence in every aspect of its mission. The high-tech infrastructure and top-notch facilities ensure that the organization can efficiently and effectively collect and match stem cells to save lives.
What truly touched my heart is the generous offer they extend to potential donors. Gift of Life provides anyone who wants to donate with the opportunity for a vacation in sunny South Florida. This thoughtful gesture goes beyond just encouraging donors; it shows their appreciation and care for those willing to make a life-saving contribution.
In addition to their exceptional facility and generous offer, Gift of Life Marrow Registry continues to excel in educating the public about blood cancer and stem cell donation. Their commitment to diversity and inclusivity remains unwavering, ensuring that patients from all backgrounds have a chance at finding a life-saving match.
For volunteers like me, Gift of Life Marrow Registry offers a chance to be part of a life-changing mission. Their dedication to making the donation process accessible and comfortable is evident in the support they provide.
In summary, Gift of Life Marrow Registry is not just a beacon of hope; it's an organization that combines cutting-edge technology with heartfelt gestures to save lives. Their state-of-the-art facility and the opportunity for a South Florida vacation make them stand out. I encourage everyone to consider joining this life-saving cause and experience the warmth and excellence that Gift of Life Marrow Registry embodies.
I work at this wonderful registry and everyday I am amazed at how much this company goes above and beyond for their donors and recipients. It is so inspiring to see how much Gift of Life has grown and how they aspire to do so many positive things for the fight against blood cancer!
From a donor perspective, I was blown away at every turn. The level of organizational competence, and care, is extraordinary. I always felt taken care of, valued, and well managed while on site in Florida completing the donation...which is really important for an organization facilitating complicated medical procedures. They inspired confidence throughout, and it was with true merit.

Thank you for sharing your experience! And thank you for being a lifesaving hero!
Five stars is not enough! This wonderful organisation found and supported the stem cell donor who saved my son’s life. They worked perfectly with a U.K. based registry and with our hospital team to ensure that the donor cells travelled safely from the USA to Scotland. We’ve kept in touch with them and they’ve facilitated us meeting our beloved donor and the philanthropists who make it all happen. They will always have a special place in our heart. The staff are wonderful , the mission is incredible. A million stars for Gift of Life. Thank you to every member, supporter, staffer, donor. You really do save lives.

Hello JennyKemp! Thank you for the incredibly kind words. Helping patients in need and ensuring our donors' safety is our #1 priority.
Gift of Life is an incredible organization that goes above an beyond to save lives! Not only do they do incredible work every day, but they are also innovating in ways that will allow them to help more people in more ways. They are committed to their mission and I have seen firsthand how dedicated they are to making it a reality. I can only imagine what amazing achievements they will realize in the future.
Man oh man where do we begin. As the Men of Tau Kappa Epsilon of the Omicron Theta Chapter we fell in love with Gift of life from the moment we met with Katie and she explained all about the registry and how it could save someone’s life! We at TKE live by the creed of Better Men for a Better World and by being able to bring awareness to bone marrow and Stem Cell donation is huge because not many people know how important it is to donate. Thankfully to Katie and her team, we are more knowledgeable of the topic as well as the campus and more clubs are as well! We have done two drives here at Newberry College and the first drive we had 63 and this past one we got 70 so you can see we strive to get better everyday and beat out our goals every time! We are excited to do a drive again next year to potentially beat our current 70 new people on the registry! We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to potentially save peoples lives one day, because this world is way bigger than ourselves and it’s important others know that a little act like being put on the registry can go a long way. From the Men of Tau Kappa Epsilon of the Omicron Theta Chapter we just want to say when you put your mind to something and you have a great team around you, can’t nobody stop you!
1,000 collections in three years at the Headquarters in Boca Raton alone. That doesn't count all the matches made utilizing the amazing 400,000 donors in the registry.
The Gift of Life Marrow Registry is a fabulous organization which works tirelessly to save lives every day. Thousands of lives have been saved thanks to the amazing work Gift of Life does. And this is why they are so deserving to receive the Great Non Profit award.
Amazing experience from start to finish. From the first call of being matched until getting in touch with the recipient, Gift of Life was there every step of the way
When I got the original call that I was potentially a match, I was excited and ready to jump right in. There was never a question in regard to me donating or not. After the excitement wore off, the reality of the situation set in and I started to think about the process and all of the worst case scenarios. That was all put to rest when I started communicating with the wonderful staff at Gift of Life. The way each of them explained the processes and then answered any and all questions, even those that I thought were obvious was above and beyond. I was in a different situation that many as I was leading a group of high school students to Washington, D.C. right around the time that the donation was to happen. Again, Gift of Life was able to accommodate all of my student responsibilities with the donation day. Everything from setting up the nurse coming to my hotel room for the injections to making sure my husband arrived prior to donation day. The amazing staff extended into Georgetown University Medical where they made me as comfortable as possible and once again, walked through the process and answered the questions. Now that I have gone through the process, I can only assume that the same level of care was exhibited on the other side of the process for the recipient. I appreciate the continued communications from Gift of Life. They check in every couple months and genuinely take an interest in our lives. I have never meet any of these individuals in real life, but I would definitely call them all friends.
I work for this nonprofit and when i came for my introduction y was expecting a small organization, but i was surprised to see how big it is and how dedicated all the people are to its mission of saving lives. This has rose a new feeling of pride in the work place, and given me the chance to be of something grand.

I have been working with Gift of Life Marrow Registry for about 4 weeks, and it has been an amazing experience so far. Knowing that you are showing up to work for an organization that is dedicated to saving lives is very rewarding.
I performed recently at a benefit concert for Gift Of Life. The organizer was a fellow musician who's sister had benefited directly from this charity and has now recovered. It was a great concert for a great cause and now I am entered into the registry myself, which was super easy!
Gave blood at a rally for a best friend’s sister in Atlanta, GA in 2000, entered the national bone marrow registry then and contacted while living in Austin, TX in March 2008 as a potential match. Determined as a match in July 2008. Stem cell donation back in Atlanta in September 2008. Absolutely the most amazing, life-changing event of my 48 years on this Earth. I cannot thank the Gift of Life to this day for giving me this opportunity and for being so wonderful the whole way through. Such a fantastic organization! Much love, y’all!
Gift of Life has been very special as an organization and community. Their work and devotion to helping and supporting the families is amazing. I was so proud and honored to be a part of one of their drives that helped find a match and saved a life.
Gift of life is a world class organization with world class people I am proud to have volunteered with such a tremendous cause!
Gift of Life Marrow Registry is a tremendous organization that not only gives patients with blood cancer and other life threatening diseases hope and health, but they are also working to eliminate healthcare disparities by changing the odds of survival for minorities. Gift of Life is helping people understand that one selfless act can positively change the outcome of a life, a family and an entire community.
Gift of Life provided me with one of the most impactful, positive experiences of my life: the opportunity to donate stem cells!
They were warm, present, and helpful every step of the way. I have become deeply involved in the organization ever since - and I can't wait to continue my involvement with Gift of Life in the years and decades to come.

I have been deeply involved with the Gift of Life Marrow Registry for five years (2011). They are an incredibly effective charity that is saving lives. They care about educating potential donors. They care about the patients who so desperately need a transplant and work hand-in-hand with them along their journey to finding a match and a cure. They are an organization designed like a family - one that I am so blessed to be a part of.
I have been working with Gift of Life through the Campus Ambassador Program for over a year now and there is nothing better than leaving a presentation or tabling event knowing that you have helped to diversify the registry and increases the chances of helping someone find a lifesaving match. The experience I have had with educating people about the bone marrow registry and Gift of Life has been incredible thanks to the support that I have received from the entire Gift of Life team.
I donated stem cells through Gift of Life. They took care of all the details and made the process so easy and stress free. They also planned an amazing event where I got to meet my recipient.
I've been working for Gift of Life for 6 months, and in that short amount of time I have experienced first-hand the impacts this organization makes. I work directly with stem cell and marrow donors and recipients and witness huge moments for them - the donation /transplant itself, how passionate they are about our cause afterward, all leading up to when they are able to meet in person. Gift of Life not only saves lives but creates unique relationships and bonds between people that are rare and cherished. It is not often that you get to see someone look another person in the eye and tell them, "thank you for saving my life" and here, we get to see that every single day. As if all of this was not incredible enough, Gift of Life brings innovation and fresh perspectives into the battle against blood cancer. Between bringing a stem cell collection center into their Headquarters all the way to starting Gift of Life Biologics, they have been a consistent and ambitious leader not only in the healthcare field but in those of technology and science as well.
I have been involved with Gift of Life since 2016, and I can truly say I am hooked! This organization literally saves lives every single day, and being a part of the movement is beyond fun and impactful. I look forward to each drive I help run/facilitate knowing that this could save someone's life!
As a recent employee of this company I have already been able to see first-hand the positive impact we bring to individuals and their families. Not only do we facilitate lifesaving transplants but in doing so we also create unforgettable memories and lifelong relationships through the process. This company prides itself on doing good for others for a lifetime. The sense of coming together around a common goal to save lives is the biggest motivator for the dedication this organization puts into its work.
I swabbed with Gift of Life in December of 2019 and got called as a match approximately one year later. Gift of Life has been so supportive of preparing me for this procedure, especially with someone who doesn’t do well with blood and needles and ensuring I had every question answered. Not to mention, I had a handwritten note from my coordinator upon doing the blood draw telling me how grateful they were that I had chosen to continue with the process.
Additionally, I have held a swabbing drive with Gift of Life where they ensured I had a plethora of kits, and info graphics so people understood why they were joining the registry. Their mission is truly life saving and their staff are the most caring, patient, and kind people I have met. I am hopeful my procedure will happen in the months and I know they’ll be there every step of the way.
My daughter was found to be a match for someone after swabbing in Israel in 2019. Gift of Life was so helpful to us answering every single question we had.
Ultimately, the procedure was delayed, but we are hopeful it will still happen. I have no doubt that Gift of Life will be there for us the entire time should we be able to move forward.
Though hospital regulations were strict due to the pandemic, I recently had the incredible opportunity to donate PBSCs through the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. I cannot begin to describe the awe and reverence that I felt while going through this process. Gift of Life supported me throughout and ensured that I was informed and cared for. More importantly, the registry gave patients hope. They facilitated the saving of a life simply by encouraging me to do a simple cheek swab a couple years ago. The numbing of human response to the pain of others has grown to tragic heights since the start of the pandemic, and it is especially important in this surreal time to look beyond ourselves. Whether you are interested in getting swabbed or not (and I highly recommend that you do), I urge everyone to fight against this personal and societal numbing. We cannot allow one person or one million people to just be another statistic.
I've been following Gift of Life's growth for almost 15 years now. The innovation that their leaders have developed in that time has helped numerous lives. From being one of the first donor registries to implement swab testing, to opening an apheresis center that gives donors a warm and inviting experience, Gift of Life makes the donors the focus of saving lives. It all started as a family effort, but it has grown to a global, generational effort that still has the family touch. Whenever someone asks what charity to support for a donation or for a mitzvah project, I always direct them to Gift of Life, and so do others in my family. Cancer and bone marrow transplant is an unknown fear that isn't real until it touches you personally. Gift of Life has given hope to so many, and continues to with its innovation and it's human touch.
Gift of Life is such a great organization on an amazing mission to save lives, one donor at a time. They really put donors and their families first and make sure they have an easy experience throughout the entire process from signing up to donation day. To think that it all started out with one person 25 years ago who didn't want anyone else to have to go through what he did to find a donor to now seeing how many lives have been saved is truly miraculous. Even in the face of Covid-19, their mission has not stopped and will not stop until everyone finds a donor.
I was first introduced to Gift of Life on a trip during my sophomore year of college. At that time, I had no idea what a bone marrow donation was or what they were used for. I joined the bone marrow registry that day because it seemed like a little action on my end that would potentially make a major difference in someone else’s life. When I got back to school after that trip, I started researching more into bone marrow transplants and decided to connect with Gift of Life to see if there was more I could do in addition to joining the registry. I’ve been working with Gift of Life as a campus ambassador for almost two years now and have learned so much about this great organization and the work they do. It took almost a year for my effort to be realized when I received an email saying that someone I helped register matched with a patient in need of a transplant. Although I played a very small role in connecting these two people, I knew that the effects of this connection would be immeasurable. I have worked with a few non-profits in the past but none of them have given the support and guidance that Gift of Life has given me.
As a two-time leukemia survivor and bone marrow transplant recipient, I was immediately drawn to Gift of Life and its mission. I was blessed to have my brother as a match and my donor, but most people (3 out of 4) are not as fortunate. I became a Campus Ambassador Intern for Gift of Life at the University of Florida in the Fall of 2019. Since then, I have added over 600 people to the registry and found two matches - one of which had a transplant. I know the work we are doing with Gift of Life is so important, and I am so proud to be a small part of an organization that saves so many lives.
I am going on my third year as a Campus Ambassador for Gift of Life Marrow Registry. I feel blessed and like I am a better person after working with them. Between the amazing staff and the actual ability to save lives, I would not change a thing. I will never forget my first match (08/22/19) to my first transplant (7/21/20) because it truly makes you feel great to know you helped save someone else. I was notified of my first transplant on my 21st birthday, and it was honestly the best birthday gift ever. I love that I was given the opportunity to volunteer with them and recommend that everyone gets involved in some capacity, whether it's swabbing, donating, or becoming a volunteer.
Being a Penn Campus Ambassador with Gift of Life this year has given me an incredible opportunity to help my community even in such unpredictable times. I can always count on the drives I run to put a smile on my face! At this time last year, I had absolutely no idea that I would be swept into Gift of Life's inspiring and much needed mission to ensure that every cancer patient can find their match. I registered at one of my own campus's drives in 2019 and was really struck by how dedicated and passionate all the volunteers were. I decided to apply to become a campus ambassador and was welcomed with open arms to an enthusiastic and wonderful team. As an Asian-American, the disparity that exists among patients of minority backgrounds in being able to find a match on the registry astounds me. I can't believe that I have the ability to help change these odds and reduce the disparity. I am so excited to continue to add more courageous and giving people to the registry!
I have supported Gift of Life Marrow Registry for years because they get results. When you donate money you can see what it is used for: real people get the chance to save someone's life. Patients whose faces you see and stories you learn about receive a lifesaving cure for leukemia, or sickle cell disease. Little kids who were born with a genetic disorder receive the bone marrow transplant that lets them live a normal life with a full lifespan. It's incredible work, and I am proud to be able to donate to them -- it isn't much, I'm no millionaire, but I prefer to support charities where I can see tangible results. Gift of Life is the best.
After being selected as a potential match for a patient in need of a bone marrow transplant, I knew I wanted to find a way to make a difference in the lives of others who are in need of a donor. Fortunately, I became connected to Gift of Life’s Campus Ambassador Program, where I can collaborate with other students and organizations at Brown University and the surrounding Providence community to play an active part in expanding the National Bone Marrow Registry. Gift of Life’s recruitment team has been incredibly supportive these past two semesters, connecting me to experienced mentors who have served as an excellent guide for the transition to virtual donor recruitment. On top of this, Gift of Life’s mission to expand the diversity of the registry solidifies my commitment to this wonderful organization, where I can now play a tangible role in reducing healthcare disparities for underrepresented minorities in the US and across the world. Although my donation ended up falling through, I am so thankful to have started my journey with Gift of Life, and I can’t wait to see how many lives can be helped over my next two years as a Campus Ambassador.
Gift of Life was an extraordinary organization before the pandemic hit, but what's really been amazing to see is how they've refused to back down to Blood Cancer even in the face of such unprecedented times and obstacles. Unfortunately, cancer does not stop for COVID-19, so neither can organizations like Gift of Life. While not having a cure/vaccine for COVID-19 may make many feel powerless, it has been extremely uplifting to fight another major disease and take back some "control"-all for the good of these patients and their families in need!
Because of the incredible work by Gift of Life, I was given a bone marrow transplant last year. Gift of Life has given me a second chance at life. I got to meet my donor because of them this February. I’m so thankful for that experience, and I now work as a Campus Ambassador. I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing organization.
I am having wonderful experience volunteering for Gift of Life and I am especially inspired by the annual Campus Ambassador Program Symposium.
Gift of Life is a group of amazing people with a unique and powerful drive to end blood cancer and to better the world. I have been working as a campus for GOL for about 8 months now and have loved every minute of it. Their impressive campus ambassador program is innovative and revolutionary. It gives College students the amazing opportunity to improve their professional and raw skills while simultaneously saving lives. I would 100% recommend every person, student or not, to get involved with this amazing organization!
I joined Gift of Life my senior year of high school as of course a high school ambassador. This was the start of my love and dream of one day building my own nonprofit, which is currently in the works. The GOL team has been nothing but kind, welcoming and encouraging. The message GOL sends out and the community it has built overwhelms me to tears. As now a college ambassador I am proud to be apart of such an amazing group of like-minded people who all have one goal. This goal is for every person battling with blood cancer to find a bone marrow or stem cell match. Thank you GOL, I will forever be apart of you.
I had the most incredible experience volunteering for this nonprofit. I would recommend getting involved for anyone who has a personal connection or interest, or any young person who doesn’t want to wait until they grow up to make a difference. As a college student, it is so rare to have the adults in an organization care so deeply about the youngest people, but we are treated as essential to the mission and as a result, we became highly motivated to prove them right. I am thrilled about the opportunity to make a difference in my campus.
Gift of Life is truly dedicated to saving lives. All of their staff support their mission wholeheartedly and are kind and easy to work with. It is a well structured organization that continues to grow because of the passion Jay Feinburg has for expanding the bone marrow registry.
I had the pleasure of learning all about the organization. Now that I have become an ambassador I cannot wait to go around and recruit as many people as possible so that everyone can live a happy, healthy, and long life! I hope to educate people on the process and hopefully save a few lives along the way!
In the time that I’ve gotten to work with Gift of Life I have been given so many amazing opportunities, but the greatest has been the opportunity to save a life. Gift of Life took my personal experiences with cancer and allowed me to turn them into something incredible. This organization is absolutely the future, and I look forward to seeing them create a cancer free world!
Gift of Life provides people with a tangible way to save lives. Their mission is to create a cancer free world and they are on the cutting edge of doing just that. This nonprofit is run by the most caring and selfless people in the world and they constantly seek to put both the donor and the recipient first. They are truly world class.
Gift of Life is one of, if not THE most meaningful organization that I have had the pleasure of being a part of. Gift of Life works to save the lives of those blood cancer patients who have exhausted all other options for a cure. Gift of Life literally saves lives. The staff are all the most passionate, down to earth, driven, and sweet people I have had the privilege of meeting. I am so happy I got involved with this organization.
When I was in high school I got the call that I could be someone’s life saving match but it was to late and the person died. The work gift of life is doing is changing that so no one will ever have to die because they can’t find a match.
I started working here at Gift of Life in February 2019. At first, I thought this was just a job. Well, I quickly realized that working here was going to change my life. I have been working in the 'corporate' world for over 40 years, and never have I had a job like this!! I love coming to work! I love what we do! And I love feeling like I"m a part of it! This company saves lives!!!! How wonderful is that? I did not know much about the registry world. But once I became aware of what Jay Feinberg has done here, I was amazed. He and this company provide hope, help, and life!! I hope to be a part of this company for the rest of my career. People helping people. That's what it is all about. Give the Gift of Life to someone who needs it! Get swabbed today!
4 years after getting on the registry I was notified by Gift of Life of being a potential match for a woman with Leukemia. A few tests later I was ready to get a physical to make sure I was healthy enough to donate. After a pretty thorough once over it was time to donate stem cells. The process was fairly straightforward with an explanation of how things work and what to expect. I was taken care of very well. After the donation we talked about the future and the recipient (a 38 year old female Jane Doe). There were a multiple of things that could happen and we prayed for the best. After 5 months we heard that the graph took and she was on her way to recovery. After a year I had to opportunity to find out her identity and then got a chance to meet her. This was such an emotional experience for both of us and all involved.I consider her family now and look forward to outings in the future as she lives about 500 miles away in Canada. We have kept in touch via mail and social media. Gift of life deserves so much credit for making this happen. They are a very organized operation and I can't say enough good things about their professional people who should be very proud of what they do. Never once in my experience did I feel uninformed or nervous about any of the processes they had me involved in.
I have dealt with Gift of Life Marrow Registry for years and I must say that the compassion and expertise is excellent. They are a warm caring group of people who daily saves lives and continue the quest to save more. Truly a dedicated foundation.
This organization does incredible work for anyone in need of a (blood cancer related) stem cell or bone marrow transplant. Gift of Life helps people all over the world, no matter what background they come from, and that's a VERY powerful thing! Because as we all know... cancer doesn't discriminate. Not even a little. So do yourself a favor and check out their website to learn about all the amazing stories and events taking place, and join the registry today! There is nothing more impactful than saving another person's life, or being the recipient of such a gift. Allow yourself to be inspired! :)

What takes just a few hours for a donor can give someone the rest of their lives. From the day Gift of Life opened their doors the goal has been to recruit donors to save the lives of those suffering from blood cancers and over 100 diseases. This commitment came from the founder and CEO's own experience looking for a match to save his own life. The entire organization share's his commitment.

Gift of life is an incredible organization and inspires me everyday. The fact that it was started by one person who spends every day paying it forward is the true gift!
I have been known of Gift of Life for 10+ years and this truly has made a big impact on me as a person seeing the incredible work they do for the public. Donors and patients are treated as individuals and not numbers and get the love, respect and time they deserve. If you want to be in the best hands they are the ones!
They facilitated my son’s transplant. And the words of gratitude are just not enough. We are beyond blessed to have this organization in our lives lives.

It's been such a gift watching Gift of Life grow from a true mom and pop to an internationally respected medical resource that not only saves lives, but gives hope to those who need it most. The registry is a true treasure, made up of generous and heroic people who want to help!
There is no greater charity in the world than Gift Of Life.
I would not be leaving this review if not for these wonderful people and the generosity of my donor.
There are no limits in their search for donors to save the lives of the young or old.
Please help support this amazing organization whether financially or by volunteering....Save a life !!!!
When you need a bone marrow registry fighting hard for you and your family - Gift of Life is second to none. All of their staff and volunteers are dedicated to helping families find a match to cure blood cancers. From arranging, orchestrating and running marrow drives, to finding press, and putting you in touch with others facing similar situations - Gift of Life has been an amazing organization to partner with.
Truly amazing organization, mission, and community of leaders and volunteers. So happy to be a part of the Gift of Life family.

Gift of Life is more than an organization. They are a family, a community, that deeply care about the work they are doing. Every event - from a donor drive, to a 5K, to a fundraiser - is filled with purpose. I am blessed to be a part of the Gift of Life family!
Gift Of Life is trying to reach out to people of all different backgrounds. Unfortunately, cancer does not attack one specific group of people. GOL is reaching out to the world, little by little. The more people who have been swabbed, the greater are the chances of a match being found! Join us!
GOL is a miracle! I’ve worked with the program as a Senior Swabber at my high school, and it has made my job easy and pleasurable. GOL has always been super organized with materials needed for drives, responsive to issues, and amazing at communication. The cause that they stand for is very important, and they are most definitely making a difference in the world.
Gift of Life does incredible work! As a bone marrow donor it is so important to get the word out about registering and potential to save another person’s life. Gift of Life makes that amazing process easy.
Excellent staff dedicated to help those in need. They do advocate and bring awareness into the communities they served about the importance of saving lives.
What an incredible experience to be a part of something as great as Gift of Life Marrow Registry. They make it so easy for you to sign up, are very caring to get to know all of their donors on a personal level, and gives you the opportunity of a lifetime: to save a person's life. I can't help but think that would be the coolest experience to be able to say you've done in your lifetime, is that you've saved someone's life. I wish everyone would give this organization more attention, because it is very well-deserved.
Over 25 years ago, I read of the plight of Jay Feinberg, a young man with leukemia who desperately needed to find a bone marrow donor who could save his life. At that time I coordinated two donor drives in Orange County and Westchester County. Throughout the years, I have maintained a connection to Jay, after his life was saved by an anonymous donor, and he had established Gift of Life Marrow Registry with his parents. When I bought a home in South Florida and realized that the Gift of Life National Headquarters was minutes from my home, I called to volunteer. I eventually established the Valencia Palms Gift of Life Club, and co-chaired the 2017 Steps for Life 5k and the 1st and 2nd Annual Gift of Life Pickleball Tournaments. Raising need funds to help Gift of Life fulfill their mission in saving lives, and coordinating swabbing drives to find potential donors, has become my passion. It is an incredible organization which works diligently to bring donors and recipients together . Together we save lives...
Gift of Life helped me save someone's life. I got called to be a PBSC donor to a stranger in need of a life-saving transplant. Within two months, my cells were on their way to him. A year and a half later, the latest I heard says he's in remission and able to get back to life with his wife and two children.
I'm not the hero of this story by any means, even though Gift of Life treats me like one. They, and their funders, are the real heroes. When I got cold feet after finding out that I would need to have a central line for PBSC collection, Gift of Life put me in touch with someone who had the same procedure at the same collection center. She and I talked and she put me at ease. A few months later, I was able to return the favor for another donor.
Without the resources and follow through from this amazing organization people would die, plain and simple. But they need money and volunteers to help with their mission. Your time and dollars help give people their lives back and change lives of donors all at the same time.
Before getting involved on a deeper personal level with Gift of Life, I was blown away by all the good they do. Watching a donor and recipient meet for the first time in person was even more impactful than it was watching it online. It's hard to believe that a stranger could save the life of someone they never met and that Gift of Life could put it all together.
They're an exceptional organization that focuses on better individuals and the community by allowing people to provide life saving treatment to people who would otherwise not be able to receive it. They make sure no one feel alone in their quest to finding a way to cure the horrible diseases that they might have while engaging the community to really make a difference in the lives of family members and also strangers.
At Gift of Life everyone has a passion has for every single donor or patient involved. Not a day goes by there is not a celebration of a donor giving selflessly or a financial contributor donating from their heart and of course all rejoice when a recipient finds a donor. They are truly the "Ritz Carlton" of bone marrow registries.
This amazing organization actually saves lives! When you join the registry you give a cheek swab for testing to see if you are a match for someone with cancer or some other conditions who needs a transplant to cure them. You might be a match for someone right away, or even years from now. This is one of my family's favorite charities because we know the money goes to save actual people. You can read the stories of donors and people whose lives were saved right on the website, and if there's an event near you, there are often donors and people who received transplants and were cured. It's a miracle of medicine, and thank you Gift of Life for doing this incredible work.
I have worked for Gift of Life for three years. This organization believes every person battling blood cancer deserves a second chance at life and are determined to make it happen. I've worked for other nonprofits and I can honestly say that this one truly lives and breathes it's mission! Thanks to Gift of Life thousands of people have joined the registry and thousands of of lives have been saved!
I have been involved with Gift of Life since I was a kid and my cousin was diagnosed with CML. Since then, Gift of Life has become a huge part of my life. I was a part of their campus ambassador program in college and help out with the senior swab program. They use kindness and hard work to help get everyone swabbed. I guarantee that you'll never meet a more passionate and kind group of people. This is absolutely the kind of organization you want working with you.
I have worked with Gift of Life Marrow Registry for almost two years now. I have never met a more dedicated group of men and women. Gift of Life Marrow Registry is genuinely dedicated to helping others. They care about making a difference in people's lives, whether that be big or small.
I've been a volunteer with Gift Of Life for almost a year and a half now, and it's been an incredible experience. The organization is so thoroughly committed to helping patients with blood and bone cancers thanks to the extremely kind and compassionate staff. They are there for the donors every step of the way and do their best to ensure that the donation process goes smoothly. In addition, the organization is constantly finding exciting and innovative ways to get eligible, diverse individuals involved. Gift Of Life truly wants to shake up the game and it's always a pleasure to work with them.
I was lucky enough to experience a donor and recipient meeting for the first time after a successful bone marrow transplant. Gift of Life is responsible for so many happy endings; this nonprofit does such incredible deeds: saving lives, providing support and hope to cancer patients, offering every person the chance to be a hero, and ultimately curing blood cancer! I feel so blessed to be apart of this amazing organization!
Gift of Life gives hope to cancer patients in need. For every person in need of a bone marrow transplant, this organization supports them and their loved ones by running drives all year if they have to, in order to find lifesaving matching donors. I cannot be more inspired and passionate about Gift of Life's mission to find match for anyone, at anytime, anywhere. They go above and beyond, and they remain super involved within the community and world to continue providing hope to all.
I'm a campus ambassador for gift of life and I love the amazing atmosphere and the family feeling of everyone! It makes me so happy to be helping others and the fact that I am do that with gift of life is the most precious thing in the world!
I became involved with this incredible organization 5 years ago when my 19 year old son got a call that he was a match. From the initial call through the entire donation process, the staff and volunteers at Gift of Life were with us all the way. Since that time, I have volunteered, help run drives, and have had the pleasure of getting to know the Gift of Life family.
I have been involved with Gift of Life since its inception. This is an organization of extremely dedicated staff, board and volunteers who go way beyond the norm. It takes so little to be swabbed and has the chance of being so helpful. I have had the honor and privilege of being a courier- delivering blood and bone marrow to hospitals and have met some of the recipients. "Thank-you" hardly covers all they want to say and I feel they don't need to thank me. I am in awe of the strength the family and the recipient have and am truly grateful to be associated with Jay and Gift of Life!
So many wonderful causes are in need of support.... So few can so directly show what the support does. It saves lives... Directly. I've been so blessed for our involvement with gift of life and the wonderful work they do!
I have been a volunteer for this organization in the past. I know people who have been given life because of this amazing none profit. The people who work for this organization are passionate and dedicated to saving lives. When I donate money to them, I know the money is being used to save lives.
I did not have direct experience but did hear about how they set up some great drives to get donors. They have done some outstanding work and have saved many lives.
When you see recipients meeting the donors who saved their lives for the very first time, you instantly know how important and special this organization is.
I originally got connected to Gift of Life when I was notified that I was match for someone. After my donation, I got more involved helping to lead registration drives and donating to support the organization. They have an amazing mission, tremendous leadership and are worthy of your support.
I have been a registered donor in this amazing organization since 2004, when my own husband was diagnosed with AML. It is founded by one of the most remarkable, compassionate individuals that I've had the honor of knowing. Jay's support and friendship throughout our cancer journey is as extraordinary as is his life-saving work. He stands a hero in the true sense of that word.
I have been a volunteer for years. It is such incredible and meaningful work! Thanks to Gift of life's efforts, many thousands of people have joined the registry and hundreds of people have been successfully matched!
I have been a volunteer since 1998! They have come a long way with helping save lives! Proud to be part of this great family!
Gift of Life is a great organization! My father was a bone marrow donor and I am in the national registry myself, thanks to Gift of Life. I've seen firsthand the amazing work they do, and they deserve all the praise and support.
Gift of Life helped us run a bone-marrow drive to find a match for our nephew. Everyone in the organization was kind, knowledgeable, and ready to help in every way possible. I will always be grateful to the amazing team working at Gift of Life.
I have been involved with Gift of Life since I became a bone marrow donor in 2011. I do not have to tell you that they are a great organization. The actions of the organization speaks for themselves. They are constantly running events whether it's the Walk for Life or their annual dinner in order to build up their registry to help patients in need. They are always looking for ways to improve as an organization. Their dedication is tremendous. As a volunteer and a donor, it is a privilege and an honor to be part of such a world class organization!
I have been a volunteer with “Gift of Life” for several months. I chose “Gift of Life” after doing some research, because I was seeking a top-rated, well-run organization with a meaningful purpose for which to volunteer.
I have found “Gift of Life” to be all that…….and more! It’s a great group of caring, dedicated people, all working together to save lives!! What an inspiring environment!! And everyone is so appreciative of my time spent helping out! I am proud to be associated with this fine organization.
I received a bone marrow transplant a month before my 20th birthday. Since I have recovered and returned to college, I have been volunteering for gift of life. They offer helpful phone training and are a fantastic cause. They are doing a great job of raising awareness and adding potential donors to the registry. They are undoubtedly helping the cause to fight leukemia and lymphoma and save lives like my own.
As a donor with Gift of Life, I believe in their mission to save lives and have witnessed first hand the reality of a second chance at life they create for children and adults. Their CAP (Campus Ambassador Program) campaign is blazing a trail in awakening altruism in the Millennial Generation and adding more and more potential donors to the registry. Volunteering for Gift of Life not only helps raise awareness in communities they are active in, it provides a sense of self reward and fulfillment knowing you are truly making a difference in someone life.
I am a stem cell transplant recipient. My match was found through Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. I always wanted to meet my donor but never thought that meeting my donor would change my life to the extent that it has. Gift of Life facilitated that meeting and has done so much more! The Foundation introduced us in June of 2015 at a big Gala. It was magical. Gift of Life not only gave me the chance to live but it gave me a whole new support group, set of friends and family. I look back and think, "wow there really is a silver lining to a near death experience". The silver lining is this -- GOL and my donor have become part of our family. I see just how hard the Foundation works to raise money and find donors I love being a part of it (Everyday I wish that I could do more).
Gift of Life left such a profound impression on our youngest daughter (a junior at the University of Florida) that she immediately wanted to find out how she could get involved. She is representing Gift of Life at Florida through the Campus Ambassador program. She started a new club on campus, "Gators Give Life". She has swabbed over 1,000 students and through her work 2 matches have been found. Gift of Life is spreading the word that donors are ALWAYS needed. GOL is working hard to expand every avenue to get donors and the funds to support the incredible expenses that go along with the process from start to finish. I can't say enough positive things about this organization.
I am so honored to be a part of the Gift of Life family. My cousin Brian is alive today because he received a life saving donation 12 years ago. My other cousin Jonathan was fortunate to be called as a donor a few years ago. I am lucky to be able to volunteer with this amazing organization. I enjoy being part of the events they organize and working alongside such an amazing group. The staff at Gift of Life are the most amazing and generous individuals I have ever met. They work tirelessly for this cause. I am truly honored to call them family. My hope is to be called as a donor so I can experience giving the Gift of Life to someone in need.

Gift of Life is the most impressive nonprofit organization I have ever encountered! As a physician I have encountered the hope and miracles that bone marrow transplants provide for those in need, and there is no greater organization than Gift of Life that could provide such. The employees are so pleasant to work with, inspiring and motivational. They are organized, productive, and masters of fundraising. They are truly a nonprofit to emulate!
I would not be alive if it were not for gift of life. My stem cell transplant donor came through gift of life's efforts to reach out to young people and ask them to swab their cheek and put their DNA in the national database.
I received a stem cell transplant two years ago. I am eternally grateful to the good work that gift of life does on behalf of those of us who would not survive without this life-saving treatment.
I was a life-saving donor with Gift of Life and have remained a dedicated volunteer. They save lives and do great work! - Rabbi Greg Kanter
After matching and donating through Gift of Life registry, I've continued to stay involved with this great organization for the last 4 years. Everyone at GOL has been great to work with and I've enjoyed volunteering in the tri-state area. Between walks, networking events, swabbing drives, and fundraisers, they are a world-class organization that truly believes in their cause and strives to match as many donors to recipients as possible.
Great nonprofit that is passionate about finding matches for patients who suffer from blood cancers or genetic disorders!
A really dedicated group of people. Gift of Life has a great strategy and comes through with real, life-saving results. Being a volunteer turned employee, I have seen the foundation run at all levels, and they are all about doing everything they can to help make a real difference for people suffering from terrible diseases.
This organization is so amazing! I became part of a family and now I will never feel alone and never give up! They are so special and I am so great full!
I am so excited!! I just hit the 20 year mark for my bone marrow transplant!! I never would have thought that I would make it this far, God has been good to me.
Gift of Life has truly changed my life, and more importantly, my view on life and how I often take my health for granted. I knew I wanted to help others, but was never exactly sure how. After applying to be a campus ambassador for Gift of Life and attending the training symposium recently in August, I discovered that this is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing - assisting those that are suffering with blood cancer and ultimately save their life. I was unsure as to what I was getting myself into, but I can assure you that it was the best decision I had ever made. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this organization, and eager to see what impact I can make on people's lives and the fight against cancer.
I have been working with Gift of Life for over a year and I wouldn't change a second! From the start, Gift of Life has been more than amazing. All the staff and fellow volunteers are extremely passionate and also very kind. They are easy to get along with and have become a second family. They continue to inspire me every day. The work I have been doing (running registration drives on my college campus) has been very rewarding and I hope to continue working with Gift of Life for a long time!
This past October I was blessed with an amazing opportunity to be involved as a donor through the Gift of Life. The Gift of Life provided me with everything and more I needed before, during and after my donation. I now serve as a Campus Ambassador for them, and I am continuing to learn how amazing this organization is and how much it means to everyone who works for them. They are constantly looking for input as to how they can better their organization and truly listen. They have adopted a new and amazing opportunity, CAP, which allows them to expand the amount of swabbing, diversity of swabbing and fundraising, as well as PR and media relations. They are truly a special group of people and will not stop until blood cancers are cured and I could not be more excited and happy to be associated with them!
I have worked with gift of life for over a year and they are such an amazing organization! Everyone at the foundation is so impressive and their dedication to the cause is inspiring!
They have implemented innovative ways to increase the size, diversity, and funding for the bone marrow registry such as Speed Swabbing and the Campus Ambassador Program, as well as increasing the PR and media attention surrounding the importance of the bone marrow registry. They also work hard to make all of their volunteers feel very appreciated and special and are there every step of the way for donors and recipients for which they facilitate transplants.
The work they do truly saves lives!
I feel so grateful to be a part of the foundation!
Gift of Life is a truly selfless organization dedicated to serving the needs of people around them who are affected by blood cancers and disorders. This organization is really a "whatever it takes" group of people, using creativity, fun, and heartfelt service to provide needs. By working to expand the bone marrow registry, Gift of Life is truly in the process of saving countless lives.
Gift of Life makes the possibility of a cancer-free life a reality for so many people! It is such an incredible organization dedicated to changing the lives of people with leukemia and other blood diseases. With them, people everywhere have found matches and had a second chance at life.
I am truly honored to be working at Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. It’s such a great organization and I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to work with such wonderful staff and volunteers. It’s also very rewarding knowing how important each and every person’s role at Gift of Life really is, as we’re all helping give critically ill patients a second chance at life! I always encourage friends and family to join the registry and spread awareness about bone marrow and stem cell transplants.
There are so many great ways to get involved as Gift of Life hosts many bone marrow drives and events all over the United States and in Israel. My most memorable moment with Gift of Life is the day my husband, John Engler and I attended the annual Walk for Life in Boca Raton, FL. I encouraged John to join the registry and complete a cheek swab. A couple of years later, John received a phone call that he was a match for a patient in need of a stem cell transplant. John and I were absolutely ecstatic and of course he said "YES!" to donating his stem cells. All it takes is a simple cheek swab to save someone’s life!
Gift of Life is a remarkable organization dedicated to caring for those who have Leukemia, Lymphoma, and other blood related diseases.
I am so proud to be working for an organization that can give people a second chance at life.
Gift of Life is an amazing organization that saves the lives of critically ill patients with life-threatening illnesses. As a member of the 'Gift of Life family', there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that I am helping to give patients a second chance at life! I would like to encourage others to partner with and support Gift of Life. You, too, will feel rewarded and will truly be inspired by their life-saving work!
I am blessed to be a part of Gift of Life and I really enjoy working here since we are helping to save the lives of hundreds of patients in need. Gift of life is a wonderful organization and this is the only bone marrow registry in the world founded and directed by a transplant recipient. This non profit foundation is well organized and continuously working with leukemia patients and their families in their difficult time to find a match and save the life.
I am honored to be a part of Gift of life's life saving mission.
Gift of Life is an incredible organization that saves lives. Everyone at the Organization works incredibly hard to make its vision - A match. Anytime. Anywhere. For anyone - a reality. Bone marrow drives are run all across the country to educate and recruit eligible donors to join the registry. Fundraisers, such as the Walk for Life and Partners for Life Gala, are held to raise money to offset the costs associated with testing new donors. Volunteers devote their time to raise awareness about the importance of the cause. I feel very lucky to be involved with Gift of Life and look forward to one day seeing its vision a reality.
Over 20 years ago I went to Belarus to help a friend look for his genetic needle in a haystack. I was not successful in my efforts. But thankfully, through others efforts, Jay found his match. Today over 1900 other human beings have had a second chance at life due to his and his families selflessness. No better example shows willingness to help others and make the world a better place. A privilege to be involved.
Gift of Life is a wonderful organization. There are many ways to be able to become involved. You can join the registry to become a bone marrow or stem cell donor. You can financially donate. You are also able to become involved by volunteering in many different ways. One of my most favorite ways to become involved is to participate in their annual Walk for Life here in Boca Raton, FL. They also have walks that are being held in more and more locations throughout the US, so be sure to check this out.
Gift of Life has changed many, many lives for the better - including my own. I had the honor of donating my bone marrow to a 4 year-old boy suffering from leukemia. Today, he is a 12 years old and completely cancer-free. We see each other often and I have seen him grow up into an extraordinary young man. In the meantime, I have seen countless other similar stories. I am proud to be a member of the Gift of Life family and wish others could experience the same feeling.
I was a courier for Gift of Life and did extensive travel delivering marrow. I saw the way that the Gift of Life staff worked with the donors and the amount of time they put in to make sure the product transfer was done correctly. I saw firsthand how the staff at Gift of Life made sure the donors were accommodated for all their needs and that the end result hopefully would be a positive reaction to what I was delivering. I think that anyone requiring the services of Gift of Life would be more than happy with the staff the service and the way they accommodate everyone to ensure a smooth experience.

Thank you for your service to the organization and helping to save lives!
This Foundation changed my life. It is often understated the tangible benefits for not only the transplant Recipient, but the Donor as well. Yes, my Recipient, a 62-year-old woman from Chicago, was given a second chance at life. She is cancer free and happier than ever.
As the donor, I found meaning in passion in my young life. I had the absolutely incredible opportunity to donate just after my 19th birthday. I was a businesses student studying Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises at Syracuse University. It's not that I was directionless or unmotivated; having the opportunity to give this gift made me see through to what is important in life and the power of altruism.
Thank you, Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, for giving me the opportunity to provide such a wonderful Gift.
Incredible organization completely focused on helping to save the lives of individuals who have had the terrible misfortune of requiring a bone marrow transplant to survive.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to work at the Gift of Life. I am touched everyday by the caring, altruistic donors and the dedicated, compassionate staff.
I have never seen a company that works as hard as each person here. From the moment you enter the building, you can literally feel the love. This company takes pride in what they do. Its not just a 9-5 for them. Every one is compassionate and doesnt stop until the job is done. Every where you turn, there is always a smiling face. I am beyond honored and delighted to work here.
This is a wonderful, caring organizaion. They do everything in their power to provide the most precious gift - THE GIFT OF LIFE!
When I found out my husband needed a transplant I did not know where to turn. My initial research scared me. It showed finding a donor and the amount of money it would cost was over whelming. Someone told me about Jay Feinberg. From that initial phone call I knew we were in good hands. Jay and the gift of life just took over. Thank you to The Gift of Life for getting us thru a very difficult time in our life
Having volunteered with Gift of Life for 7 years, I feel it has truly inspired me to strive to help others. Something so simple as swabbing a cheek can give hope to those who so desperately need it is vital.
Gift of Life does a fantastic job helping to save people's lives. They have a hands on approach and are there each step of the way for the donor. It truly is a wonderful organization that does wonderful things!
I work with the organization because I believe in its' core mission of helping children and adults find the matches they in need in the hope of curing leukemia, lymphoma and genetic diseases.
I have been working for Gift of Life for almost 5 months now. It truly is a wonderful company to work for. I have seen all of the hard work that goes into finding that perfect match and it is amazing to see the results. This company is dedicated to saving lives and I am proud to be working here.
My 2 years being affiliated with Gift of Life has been truly rewarding and sobering. The work they do can very well help save the life of one of your friends or family members. Learning about their special work has expanded my view of the world and enhanced my life.
I'm actually an employee, and I'm very proud of the work that Gift of Life does to save lives. Gift of Life's Executive Director is a leukemia survivor who received a bone marrow transplant, and founded this organization to help others in similar situations. He is completely and utterly dedicated to the mission of making sure that every patient who needs a match can find a match, and he is truly a visionary at all levels. I can actually say that I love my job. How many people can say that??
I got involved with Gift of Life when I was in college, and as any long time volunteer with the org. will tell you, it has been a very meaningful experience. Just yesterday (Oct. 3), I received a voice mail from an old friend who wanted to let me know that a Bone Marrow Drive that we organized for GOL 3 years earlier had just resulted in a new match for a blood cancer patient (the 2nd from that drive). The joy I felt is infinitesimal to the hope and help that GOL offers it's patients.

I have been working closely with the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation in Boca Raton, FL and have to say that their quality of expertise and ability to help people in need is unsurpassed. The staff is most helpful and their quality of expertise of truly commendable.
If you ever are in need of expertise with bone marrow or stem cell donations, I strongly suggest you look at the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. They truly do an excellent job!
I would have to say that Gift of Life has a unique quality which it offers patients and donors in which it serves. They have a hands on approach and is there each step of the way for both patient and donor. Patient's also have a unique experience as they have the luxury of working with a knowledgeable staff and CEO who is also a Transplant Recipient who can give first hand perspectives of what to expect when going thru the search process and transplant.
I have had the privledge to be associated with Gift of Life for over 5 years. During that time I have heard of numerous stories of lives saved and have worked with dedicated staff and volunteers. The start of Gift of Life came from a desparte need to save one life - and has turned into saving thousands of lives. This is a true story of how one person can truly make a difference.
Gift of Life does a fantastic job helping to save people's lives. I have had the privilege of talking to people who have relatives who are still with us today because of Gift of Life. All staff working with a donor are extremely supportive. A truely worthwhile cause. AY
I volunteered for them approx. 5 years ago when they ran a drive for a little girl with cancer. The staff were very passionate about what they were doing. In fact i would feel comfortable saying that the way they interacted with the family, you would think they were related. It really made me feel good about what i was doing. I really felt that i was making a difference.
I am the recipient of a bone marrow transplant and my donor came from Gift of Life! I am now an 18 year leukemia survivor post-transplant. Without Gift of Life, I wouldn't be alive today. THANK YOU!
Back in 1992 I volunteered for Jay to find his bone marrow donor in an office in NJ. I was bringing along our newborn daughter for 4 months! Now today she and my husband & I are all in the registry! We thought that Once Jay found his match, he could get on with his life as it was...BUT NO!!! He promised he would continue to serve the Gift Of Life in search of Bone Marrow donors, like Becky who saved his life! He never stops! He is a HERO and so is the Gift Of Life who's work saves lives everyday! In 2011, our youngest child raised money through a Donor Circle to benefit GOL for her Bat Mitzvah!
This is the most marvelous thing anyone can ever contribute to save someone else's life...I am going to look into getting this kit & do my part in contributing..I have a list of things i would like to do...This is truly beautiful, easy, & it will save a life. I know how I would feel if someone would do this for me..I had even thought of someday donating an organ to help someone...Think how rewarding knowing u did something kind like this for another human being in great need..
.
Gift of Life saved my life by finding a bone marrow donor for me. I have also witnessed Gift of Life touch the lives of hundreds and hundreds of other patients. It is my honor and priviledge to give back in any way I can.
This is from a speech I gave in March 2009: I joined the Gift of Life family in December 2001. It was quite a busy time in my life; I had just found out I was pregnant with twin! And I had a 2 year old toddler. After mailing in my cheek swab the whole event went to the back burner. I was busy with my twin newborn baby boys and my daughter. In between all the bottles and diaper changes I received a phone call from a woman, Mrs. Erhman, introducing herself as a volunteer from Gift of Life Bone Marrow Registry. After listening to her tell me the news that I was an initial match to a patient needing a bone marrow transplant or a stem cell donation I was intrigued and curious to know more about how I could have been chosen to save someone’s life. Such a unique opportunity and I was the special one chosen! I was such a regular mom cooking mac and cheese, buying milk at the grocery store, taking my kids to play at the park, etc. What made me so special to have this chance to do the most wonderful mitzvah in the world? After learning more about the donation process I realized that it had nothing to do with what I did on a day to day basis but what G-d had given me in my body. My blood and stem cells were the miraculous match to help save this person’s life. It made it even clearer to me that G-d really is totally in charge of the world we live in. I didn’t go out and buy the lottery ticket from my corner store. The lottery found me! I donated my peripheral blood stem cells in May 2003 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Without the help of my mom and husband it would not have been possible. My husband supported and encouraged me and helped in every which way to help make my donation a possibility. It was the most amazing experience of my life (besides of course giving birth to my 3 children). It was with heartfelt prayers that my stem cells flew to Israel. One year later, May 2004, I met my recipient at the Annual Gift of Life dinner in New York City. That day my children, myself and my husband all gained a new Bubby (grandmother), Bubby Chaia AY”H. It was wonderful to share our lives and know that I was able to give her children and grandchildren their grandmother back. It was with a shock then that July 2004 I received a phone call from Gift of Life. My Bubby Chaia needed my stem cells again. Without a moments hesitation I said “just tell me where and when and I will be there.” So August 2004 my husband and I got to spend the day at Weil Corneil – Presbyterian Hospital for my second stem cell donation. We prayed that my stem cells would be the miracle cure that Bubby Chaia AY”H needed. It was with a saddened heart and tears in my eyes that I found out that Bubby Chaia AY”H passed away Rosh Hashana/September 2005. The prayer we say “Who by fire, who by sickness” took on new meaning that year. I made a vow to myself – my new year’s resolution. I will do everything I can to help the Gift of Life family. It is now 7 years after my first donation and Gift of Life has become my immediate family. I may be a busy mom who works as an office manager and then goes home to change hats into cook, homework tutor, laundry mat, carpool driver, etc but Gift of Life is still just as important to me. My children have heard me tell my experience over and over again at Gift of Life information seminars or just to relatives and friends. By having them hear it they know how important it is to try to help save a life. By showing them by example the see it as well as hear it. Every other month my husband and I donate blood to a child with cancer. Our children talk about how they will go into the Gift of Life registry when they are older; donate blood when they are 10 (because they will be big and strong at that age ïŠ - we keep reminding them they have to wait until 17). My daughter has been so influenced that she has grown her hair to donate to a child with cancer who needs a wig. By making Gift of Life a family event we make it part of our daily lives. And just like we all have time to breathe and eat we have time for Gift of Life.
Gift of life is an amazing organization that made helping someone else amazingly easy. They were there every step of the way during the stem cell donation process, and constantly checked in with me to see how I was doing and see what they could do. I really felt personally cared for from start to finish with this process.
MISSION: Gift of Life facilitates bone marrow transplants for patients around the world by increasing the representation of donors of Jewish ethnic ancestry in the international registry. SERVICES: Recruitment Development Community recruitment campaigns are undertaken to register volunteers within the network. Tissue type is inherited, and the worldwide donor pool is not representative of all ethnic and racial groups. The Foundation’s recruitment strategy focuses on genetic diversity, specifically to increase overall Jewish ethnic representation within the international donor pool. Patient Advocacy Counsel patients and their families about the intricacies of the donor search process, including strategies for extended family studies and international unrelated donor searches. The goal is to ensure that each patient has complete access to all sources of stem cells worldwide. Public Education The Foundation attempts to increase public awareness of the need for unrelated marrow and blood stem cell donors through a variety of media campaigns and published materials. Transplant Coordination The Foundation manages a registry of volunteers willing to participate as stem cell donors should they be matched with patients needing transplants. The database is made available to transplant centers in the United States and abroad, as well as the search coordinating units of other domestic and foreign registries. The Foundation processes patient search requests, orders additional testing of potentially matched donors, and facilitates the ultimate collection and delivery of donor grafts to the transplant centers. Patient Assistance The Foundation endorses a long-standing pro bono policy of providing testing services without charge to patients who lack sufficient medical insurance coverage or personal financial resources. The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation was established in 1991 as a donor recruitment organization to help save the life of New Jersey leukemia patient Jay Feinberg. Between 1991-95, the organization launched an ambitious grassroots campaign to recruit donors of Eastern-European Jewish ethnicity throughout North America and abroad. Over the course of four years, 60,000 donors registered with the National Marrow Donor Program in the United States, as well as other national registries in Canada, Israel and many other countries through Gift of Life's campaign. In 1995, the very last donor tested turned out to be Jay's match, and he was transplanted in Seattle. Although it started as a grassroots effort to save one life, the campaign facilitated transplants for hundreds of other patients also in need of donors. Gift of Life's mission did not end with Jay's successful transplant. The organization is as vibrant and dynamic today as the day it was founded. Today, Gift of Life manages a registry of over 120,000 bone marrow donors and a bank of over 800 umbilical cord blood units. Since 1991, Gift of Life has facilitated transplants for over 1,500 patients in need, over 400 of them from 2002-2007 alone. During that same time period, Gift of Life made 4,400 matches and processed 18,100 searches for patients worldwide. One in 1,000 of the donors in Gift of Life's registry are called to donate their marrow or blood stem cells each year, a statistic that exceeds by twofold the international average. Gift of Life is an associate donor registry of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and a participating member of the worldwide registry Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide. In addition to its accreditation from the NMDP for its Marrow Donor Registry, Gift of Life's Cord Blood Program at UMass is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Gift of Life also holds state tissue banking licenses required for its activities. Gift of Life has been a leader in the world of donor registries. It was the first to: utilize bloodless (buccal swab) testing routinely at donor recruitment drives; launch an online registration system for donors to join the registry; establish a Jewish umbilical cord blood bank; establish a donor registry dedicated to recruitment in the Jewish community; develop a secure online system that made it possible for transplant centers and international registries to search and request donors real-time for their patients; fully type donors on a routine basis; become a domestic associate donor registry of the National Marrow Donor Program; establish formal recruitment partnerships with Jewish campus groups, making the recruitment priority to enroll younger donors who will remain in the registry longer, facilitating more transplants over time. Many other registries and recruitment groups have followed Gift of Life's lead by adopting its ideas and initiatives, and many have come to Gift of Life in order to seek advise, train with its leadership and take Gift of Life's strategies home with them to implement in their own communities around the world. Gift of Life is proud to share its expertise with worldwide registries for the benefit of patients everywhere. Gift of Life has been publicly recognized for its achievements and work helping the Jewish community. Most notably, Gift of Life's founder, Jay Feinberg, is the inaugural recipient of the Charles Bronfman Prize and the National Marrow Donor Program's Allison Atlas Award. Jay is also the recipient of the Hadassah International World Citizenship Award. Most recently, Jay received an Honorary Doctorate from Yeshiva University with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. My wife and I, along with our children are Advocates, Volunteers, Ambassadors, Recruiters and Swabbers for The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. We have tested over 20,000 people and thereby found matches for several hundred patients and the number will grow every day. It is our life's mission and hope that we have enough in the registry to find a match for anyone that may need it.
