We are eternally grateful for an organization who makes a difference in the lives of children specifically our little baby girl! She gets to grow up with her biological brother. With her older brother’s adoption and medical expenses, financially adopting her seemed impossible. Thank you so much for making a way for them to be able to grow up together!! We were adopting international and when we originally applied for the grant we were a single income household, planning to adopt from Bulgaria. After COVID hit everything slowed down with the adoption process especially in Bulgaria. We also had changes within our family that led to us becoming a two income household. We were honest with Gift of Adoption about this change and thought that we may no longer qualify for a grant. After another year passing and wondering if we were ever going to be able to adopt, after a lot of praying and soul searching we changed countries and decide to adopt from Colombia. This meant more money put into the process that we hadn't initially planned on, but we continued to trust God would provide. Each month we would get an email from Gift of Adoption asking for an update on our status and each month nothing changed until August of 2023. We were presented with a little girl and we waited to hear if we would be accepted to be her family. Finally, in November we got the official match and things began moving quickly. More money was needed to pay final fees before travel and while we had been saving for that it didn't seem like the money was going to go far enough. Again we trusting God to provide and when the email came asking for a status update we were excited to mark matched and complete the required additional information and steps. As a teacher I was going to have to take FMLA for travel and a month of bonding upon return. I knew that the sick time I had saved wouldn't cover the full leave so we requested enough money in our grant to cover the income I would loose, hoping that would be enough. We continued to wait for an answer and God came through using Gift of Adoption to grant us more money then we had ask for. The most excited part was when we looked at what we owed our agency and the two grants that we got, one from Gift of Adoption and one from another agency, we came up only $85 short of the amount that needed to be paid. We are so thankful for the generosity of Gift of Adoption to grant us more that we ask for and we believe unknowingly provide exactly what we need to make our journey to Colombia and the next month off for bonding a little more relaxing without the stress of money. They truly care and do their due diligence to make sure they are providing exactly what people who are seeking to adopt need.

Almost 4 years ago, our daughter was killed as a result of domestic violence. Her killer then took his own life. They had 2 daughters, our granddaughters. We took them in but were denied custody by the courts. Our only option was adoption

Our story begins way back in 1999 when we met in 6th grade. Dating all through high school and college, we grew up together, falling in love and imagining the family we would one day share. Getting married in 2011 was the first step in building our dream. In 2014, we had our biological daughter and continued building that dream.

Due to complications during pregnancy, it became clear that adoption may be the path we would be taking to continue growing our family. Through prayer and conversations with family, we were excited to finally make the decision to adopt.

Little did we know, it would be 4 years from that decision until the day we met our son. The journey was long. We experienced many joys and heartaches in those years. Finally, a dear friend, who also happened to receive a Gift Of Adoption grant, mentioned a little boy’s profile from Taiwan. This was not what we envisioned- international adoption was going to be more challenging and much more expensive than what we had saved for. But something felt right.

The only obstacle, other than the endless documents to sign and notarize, was the financial aspect of this adoption. We had already spent more than $35,000 at this point in our adoption journey. Furthermore, we were looking at being quarantined in Taiwan for nearly 2 weeks plus an additional week due to their strict covid policies before we could officially meet our son.

Having always been fortunate enough to not carry debt from month to month, the drained savings account paired with thousands of dollars yet to be spent was really wearing on us. That’s where The Gift of Adoption came in. It’s aptly named, as this was the exact thing we needed. The fact that they selected our family to assist in this journey took such a weight off our shoulders in a time when we really should have been celebrating.

In addition to coordinating and matching a crowdfunding fundraiser, the Gift of Adoption organization granted us the funds we needed to bring our boy home.

Now, our son is thriving as a first grader who has captured the heart of every teacher at his school. He loves to explore, to build, to create, and to ask why. He makes us laugh every day with his silly dancing, his witty sense of humor, and his wild antics. Whether it’s digging in the dirt or climbing - anything - it is evident that he is happy and safe. He is so loved by so many.

Your generosity and your kindness helped make this a reality. Our child is finally home, his forever home, and we cannot thank you enough for the way you made our family a dream come true.

Gift of Adoptions Fund helped us adopt our two children who otherwise would have been placed in the already flooded foster care system. With their help, we were able to keep these siblings together and help them grow up in a healthy, stable and loving home!

When we received the call that we had been matched with a birth mom, we never expected that she'd be in labor THAT DAY! Becoming parents in such an instant is as exciting as it is overwhelming—not to mention that we were not fully prepared to pay the largest portion of our adoption bill (which is due AT time of placement).

It's already hard enough to mobilize yourself to bring home a baby in less than 24-hours, but to try to also find thousands of dollars you don't have at the same time just feels... impossible.

Shortly after bringing baby girl home, we submitted our application to Gift of Adoption Fund and by the grace of God (truly) we found out we had been chosen to receive the grant. We were absolutely BLOWN away, shocked, and overwhelmingly grateful.

Gift of adoption was a true blessing ! We applied for a grant when we had decided to adopt . We ended up being matched within 2 weeks and needed every penny we could get to help us with our adoption legal fees . Gift of adoption awarded us a grant that ended up paying 10% of our hefty adoption fees and this helped us out tremendously! We are so grateful to this amazing organization!

Gift of Adoption was incredibly supportive, responsive and generous to our family. The Gift of a Adoption was an answer to our prayers! After many years of expensive fertility treatments, we turned to adoption to grow our family. They provided excellent communication and opportunity each month we were waiting to be matched to apply for a grant. Gift of Adoption made my adoption journey possible. Without the financial assistance I was awarded I would not have been able to even begin the process. My granddaughter was placed in my custody by the courts in 2017. The parents were given one year to complete their case plan and they failed to do so. I then chose not to adopt at that time giving the parents more time to comply and complete their court ordered plan. Still they failed to commit to their promise after having almost four years. I decided it was in the best interest of my granddaughter to move forward with adoption. GOA made the process easy to apply. No long drawn out process, or other hard to meet requirements like some other organizations. Within a short period of time I was notified that I had been chosen to receive a grant. I was so overwhelmed with joy. GOA had no idea what this award meant to me. With the enormous cost of adoption I would have never been able to hire an agency on my own. We applied for a grants with gift of adoption and received a quick response and encouragement in our journey. People that we talked to were very sweet, helpful and professional. This past year gas been a complete whirlwind for our family. We wanted to officially adopt our son but Covid-19 has caused a financial hardship as both my husband and I suffer from reduced salaries and hours at work. My husband has even picked up an extra job driving for a ride-sharing company, but the task to come up with the extra funds so quickly is daunting to say the least. When we looked into Gift of Adoption and noticed there were other families in our same situation, we decided to apply for their grant. The process was seamless and absolutely rewarding. Within a few weeks we were gifted majority of the funds we needed to finish our process. We could never thank this organization enough since they are one of the main reasons we had financial assistance during this difficult time. Our adoption is complete and we have Gift of Adoption to thank for that.

We received our little bundle of joy in April. She was born a NAS baby we felt so blessed. The journey was hard we had to rent an apartment for little over a month to be with her in the hospital while she was treated for drug addiction. This was further compounded by Covid and our bank loan getting cancelled due to possible job instability. We were able to clean out our savings get gifts from friends and family to make the 35000. We had 5000 more to pay off. We were so scared not knowing who else to turn to. We had applied to gift of adoption but didn’t think anything would come of it. So we prayed and had family and friends pray for our baby’s healing and the final payment. Then I got an email from an angel Shaneetra from Gift of Adoption. My wife and I cried our eyes out. It was a grant for the 5000. It was a seemless process she explained everything to us. In the middle of Covid we received the gift of adopting are beautiful baby and it was due to gift of adoption. This organization is a God sent.

We were struggling financially to finalize a 7 year process of me, the mother, trying to complete a step-parent adoption of my husbands biological daughter whom had been abandoned by her biological mother. The courts kept giving us the run around and the process was drawn out so long and drained us financially. I was skeptical at first of Gift of Adoption only because we had not heard of them and found them through an online search. We were looking for additional grant funds as our adoption switched from adopting one child to a sibling group. Besides the added expenses with switching to two children instead of one, we were also going to travel and bring our children home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic made travel much more logistical challenging and much more expensive. So, I did some research on Gift of Adoption and liked what I read, especially from BBB. Gift of Adoption communicated proactively and was very responsive right from the beginning. They were open and honest with us throughout the process explaining timelines and managing our expectations.

Our need seemed to meet their mission and we granted just what we needed to get our children home at the right time. We would have made it work somehow without Gift of Adoption but exactly how we do not know. Gift of Adoption allowed us to not scrounge and worry at the last moment, but instead allowed us to focus on our growing family.

We had already spent a great deal of money on the adoption process and we were just about tapped out. Thanks to the Gift of Adoption Fund Inc, we were awarded enough money to finish paying for our attorney fees and complete our adoption with ease. It was a simple process and they were a huge gift for us in the end.
