I approached Brian to help me find a new home for my precious puppy. I am so glad I did. Bri now has a new home with someone that provides the time and space she needed. Brian was very straight forward and honest about the process and Bri's chances. He was responsive to all inquiries and allowed me the time to think through the options available. I'm glad I took the initiative to contact the German Shepherd Rescue organization.
I found a stray German Shepard that I named Bailey. She looked so lost and alone like she was giving up on ever finding someone to help her. I have 4 dogs at home, but brought her home anyway because I wasn't going to leave her all alone. Since the limit in my city is 4 dogs I had to find another home for her. GSRSV was wonderful. He gave me advice on how to manage 5 dogs at home and tips on helping her adjust to her new home environment and being a foster. He was prompt with a behavioral evaluation and Bailey passed easily. Since this was the first German Shepard I'd ever had, he was able to give me information on the breed. He posted her picture and within a few days she had a family applying to adopt her! His evaluation of the family was very thorough and when Bailey met them she did great. It was a great match! He provided flea treatment and paid for heartworm treatment as well. This is a great rescue group that is working hard to help dogs in the community. Bailey is happy and thriving with her new family. She has a great life now because of GSRSV. I can't say enough positive things about this rescue group.
I am forever grateful to GSRSV for helping me find a new friend and learn how to work with him. My doggy had dog aggression / apprehension issues and Brian's efficacy in putting the right dogs in the right places, let Jackson "play" with other dogs for the first time in his life. It was beautiful, thank you soo much Brian and GSRSV!!!
We were incredibly pleased the experience we had with the German Shepherd Rescue of Sacramento Valley. For as hard as it was to make the decision to re-home our beloved German Shepherd, Brian at GSRSV made it bearable because of the adoption process he has in place. We are so thankful that our dog has found a wonderful new home with an amazing owner who has exceeded our expectations. I don’t believe we would have found him without the posting on GSRSV so we are forever grateful.
Hello my name is Sheila Saelee. My fur baby’s name is MIMi. She is s German Sheaperd we rescued from a Chevy’s parking lot. We took her in raised her as one our family members. Tragically we realize she had EPI much later. I took her to doctors and the suspected the same. After I sought to help treatment for her with the best of my own resource and help of her doctor. Then when has her on the road to recovery. Then we where given the choice of giving her up or face eviction with my family. so I began seeking a place for my baby. Many sleepless nights crying and a two week deadline. I found GSRSV. I spoke to Brian brought her to view the ranch and we waited the time to tick down. Brian came to take MiMi. Found her a foster and a home not once but twice. If not for GSRSV. Mimi would never have got another chance at life not once but twice. She is happy healthy and living a life of love like I wanted her to. With Mimi’s E.P.I she would have been put down not a even s blink I believe and he saved her again when I could no longer do it.
Hello!
GSR of Sacramento Valley is a wonderful non profit organization run by a truly dedicated and compassionate staff. Brian helped us adopt our very first German Shepard 7 years ago. Our Charlie was a wonderful boy for many years. More recently Brian helped us find a new home for a different German Shepard who was not the right fit for our family. He was professional and compassionate at the same time. He was able to help us find a home that is the perfect match for Dexter. Brian's understanding of dog behavior is remarkable. He is able to form bonds with the dogs and really get to know their individual personalities so he can better match them with potential adopters. I highly recommend German Shepard Rescue of Sacramento Valley!!
Brian at GSRSV is truly a hero. He has completely dedicated his life to rescuing German Shepherds. We made the drive from Washington to Sacramento to pick up our dog "Kilo", and he has been an amazing addition to our family.
Brian takes the time to learn the personality of each individual dog and can match you with the perfect companion. Brian's dedication and love for the breed shines through whenever you speak to him and I wholeheartedly recommend his rescue.
Although I haven’t adopted a dog with GSRSV I have voulenteered with them at their adoption events. Brian (the man who runs the rescue) is incredibly dovoted to the dogs and puts 100 percent of himself into finding them forever homes. He takes the dogs a lot of other rescues don’t bother with (older, medical issues, and temperament issues) and works with them to become adoptable. It takes a special soul to do this work.
We were vacationing in CA some years back and wound up with a dog at an intersection in Lodi who had a broken clothesline tied around her neck begging for help - yes, they have a way of finding animal lovers and she did that at 9:00 on a Sunday night in small town Lodi, CA. That said, as visitors, we had no option but to turn this beautiful girl into Animal Services. Brian and GSRSV stepped up two days later to save sweet Geisla and made sure she went to a loving and furever home. We are eternally grateful to GSRSV! (thinking of that sweet girl, Geisla, today who will always carry a little pice of our hearts).
Our family is extremely happy with GSRSV! We really wanted to adopt a rescue German Shepherd. But the first rescue location made the process very tedious and complicated. Hence, we decided to use GSRSV. It was the best decision! Brian was AWESOME to work with from beginning to end. He works hard to make sure each dog gets the “right” fit with the right family. He even checks up after the adoption to ensure that it’s still working out. If anyone were looking for a German Shepherd to adopt or rescue, I would unreservedly refer them to Brian at GSRSV. He’s the best! Our GSD has found his forever home.
