Mission: German shepherd rescue of central texas strives to save german shepherds and german shepherd mixes from neglect, abuse, and premature death. We give rescued dogs a chance to have the good life they deserve through rescue, adoption, referrals, and behavior counseling. We do not sell dogs. We adopt intelligent, sensitive beings into homes where their personalities and potential will be valued.
Programs: German shepherd rescue of central texas adopted and have saved over 50 dogs and puppies this fiscal year; saving them all from premature death. Several of them were treated for heartworm disease which without treatment results in a long painful death. We currently have 6 dogs at the main facility in dripping springs, texas and 4 in other foster homes waiting for adoption. All are being rehabilitated to be ready for adoption. Services provided include training such as crate, potty and obedience as well as education on heart worm disease and prevention and the importance of spay and neutering. Every dog we adopt out are spayed or neutered, microchipped and have all the necessary and required vaccinations and health check ups which include heartworm treatments. More than half of the dogs we save need heartworm treatment and this cost is usually double the adoption donation fee. We also provide networking and work with other rescue organizations to help save more dogs, provide information for low cost vaccination clinics to ensure the best possible care for the dogs while making affordable choices so the adoption fees and donations raised go almost exclusively to our rescue dogs.
