I've been a weekly volunteer for Georgia's Place for over a year now, and I couldn't say enough great things about this sanctuary. The owners Rehana and Joe are some of the kindest people I've ever worked with and make volunteering for them a super fulfilling experience. Rehana loves everyone at the sanctuary so much and provides so much attentive care to them. She gives everything to take care of the rescues there. They also host fun events where you can connect with other vegans and animal lovers. This sanctuary deserves the world.
Rehana and Joe are two of the kindest, most compassionate people I have had the pleasure of knowing. The two of them do amazing work together at Georgia's Place. The level of care and compassion they give to each individual is truly remarkable and it allows these beautiful beings to live out their lives embraced in love and peace.
I highly recommend joining them for one of their events or just stopping by for a personal tour. Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary is truly a special place.
When I first met Rehana it was her dream to have a bird sanctuary. I am so proud of her for making her dream a reality. Rehana is one of the most compassionate people I’ve met when it comes to animals. Her and her husband, Joe, work harder than anyone I know to keep their rescues healthy and safe. She is super creative and holds events at the property that are fun, too! Or, if you want to stay for more than a days event and learn more about GPBS, book their Airbnb and stay a few days, or longer!
GPBS is truly a haven for birds and other wildlife in need. Rehana is passionate about her calling and she and Joe have created a lovely environment for rescued birds to thrive in. After many years of caring for injured wildlife of all kinds, she has become skilled at rehabilitation and she provides for their every need. These animals could not find a safer, caring or more beautiful place to live. If I could give them 10 stars I would!
The personalized care each of the bird and wildlife residents gets is astounding. GPBS ensures the health through proper diet, veterinary care, enrichment and regular human contact. It’s clear the environment created by Rehana and the board is a true sanctuary for all beings- including the human visitors
The owners are true gems! I can't stress enough how much they care about their volunteers. True authenticity emanates from Rehana and Joe. Add to that their ongoing dedication and sacrifices for the animals they watch over, and you've got yourself a special sanctuary here. Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary is as much about human connection as it is a forever home for birds who would otherwise have gone forgotten. I really appreciate their transparency as well as all they do to educate those who are interested about the types of birds that live on the property. No matter how busy Joe and Rehana are, if I have questions about the birds or operations, they stop what they're doing to answer in detail. I've learned so much about chickens and turkeys in my time there, from how they socialize, to what kind of food they require, to their medical needs, etc (things I knew nothing about previously). I've volunteered off and on over the past few years, and would be there more frequently if I lived closer. Please support this important sanctuary in any way that you can!
I have had the privilege to visit Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary over the course of the past e years. Every time I go I am amazed at the kind, caring, and gentle nature of Rehana and Joe. They care for the birds (and other animals) as if they were their biological children. The animals are well cared for, Happy, and loved. My favorite is Simon the turkey! He's so beautiful and gentle. I can't wait to visit again!
Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary is a safe haven gem of a spot for precious birds of all kinds, most notably those most people don't give a second thought to eating. Chickens, turkeys and more are honored at this sanctuary and given the best in love, medical care, tailored diet, and importantly, the freedom to just be. I just received their latest newsletter. Their work is incredible. These sentient beings, bred to live sickeningly short lives, are prone to chronic conditions because they are not valued for the amazing souls they are. Georgia's Place moves heaven and earth to give these beings the good life. It is hard work but it is so valued! If you have never heard the purr of a hen, seen the dance of a turkey, or the protective stance of a rooster, visit the amazing Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary. It will be a life-changing experience! Thank you, Georgia's Place for all you do! ❤️
Rehana does so much to help all animals, all creatures large and small. She has a huge heart and a seemingly endless capacity for compassion. Every penny donated to this nonprofit is legit put to good use.
Rehana and Joe run an absolutely fantastic sanctuary. Their compassion for and dedication to the animals is inspiring. I am grateful they have dedicated their lives to the care of vulnerable little lives. My family has visited to volunteer, and they were so kind while we were there! The tenor of the place is amazing. Thank you so much for what you do, Joe and Rehana.

I have been to many sanctuaries and Georgia’s Place is one of the best for their treatment of their birds! They care deeply and they go to great lengths to ensure the well being of those they care for. They work very closely with vets and they make a point to learn as much as possible from every experience. They love their birds like family and it is so beautiful to witness! Support them!
Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary is home to many unwanted, rescued birds. They also take in & rehabilitate small injured, orphaned wild life: squirrels, rabbits, opossums, turtles, etc. & return them back to their habitat when they are better. The owners treat animals & volunteers like family. They are genuinely kind, compassionate, caring folks that help save lives. I definitely give them 5 stars!
A new friend, Heather, told me about Georgia’s Place Bird Sanctuary. I literally work to earn to donate to animal survivors so I couldn’t wait to visit! Heather then met me there…
My first time at Georgia’s Place was memorable, especially because Simon the turkey greeted me at the front and proceeded to dance around me as I marveled as his beauty.
Rehana & Heather introduced me to all of the beautiful residents, telling me where they came from, what they endured and to then see them as such peace filled my heart with bittersweetness.
It was evident how much LOVE was put into the organization, from the housing, to the feeding, to the caretaking of these amazing beings! Thank you for creating such peace on earth Rehana & Joe
I have known Rehana for over 20 years. We met because of our interest in wildlife rehabilitation. I have seen her give care to orphaned and injured wildlife with compassion, skill, knowledge, and respect for these vulnerable beings in need. She has used these same strengths to create Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary and continues to provide high quality care to those in need. NAK
I absolutely love this sanctuary! I’ve visited there on multiple occasions and am always in awe of the caring and compassionate way each rescue is taken care of. It is truly a beautiful place run by beautiful souls.
I have visited George's place multiple times. The sanctuary is an oasis of peace and compassion. You never know what kind of people you will meet there with fur or feathers. :)
I’ve been volunteering at Georgia’s Place for six months now, and I’m so grateful I started doing so. The work and love Rehana and Joe put into each and every resident and the sanctuary as a whole is heartwarming. They also treat their volunteers impeccably, always appreciating every little thing we do. Sanctuaries are my favorite form of animal activism, because they educate the public on the importance of these individuals and how our decisions impact their lives. Teaching humans to value someone they were raised to not even think about is hard. But at Georgia’s Place, the experience along side the education you’ll get when you visit has a lasting and powerful impression.
I recently visited the sanctuary and had an amazing time there. I was immediately greeted by Rehana and Joe and their other volunteers who were all super welcoming. I enjoyed being around the birds, especially the turkeys who love to talk, and had a fun time viewing all the wonderful flowers growing on the property. It's clear to see that all the animals are well taken care of and are loved unconditionally by both owners. Georgias Place Bird Sanctuary is perfect for anyone who has any interest in learning more about birds. I would 100% visit the sanctuary again.
I’ve stayed at the Georgia’s Place AirBnB and I loved my experience while staying there. Rehana and Joe are very welcoming and kind people. They take wonderful care of their animals and I would definitely come back!
