Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention
Mission: To promote recovery from mental illnesses, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases through education, employment, empowerment, peer support and self help, and to unite as one voice to support the priorities set each year at their annual statewide consumer conference.
Programs: Provided half-time peer mentors at the 5 state hospitals and provided 8 full-time peer mentors at 3 state prisons. These mentors offered support and training to consumers transitioning from prison and long-term hospital care into community living services.
operated five peer support and wellness centers to provide a peer-run compliment to traditional mental health services that include daily wellness activities, a 24/7 warm line and respite beds.
provided multiple nine day trainings for 35 consumer participants for the certified peer specialist project. These trainings are designed to train our peer work force.
