We adopted our sweet girl, Piper Donna in September 2023. I had originally wanted a male tricolor, smooth coat. The rescue encouraged me to come and visit and keep my heart open that there weren’t any dogs meeting that description that I wanted, but that I should come to the ranch and meet the dogs that were there. So we went to the ranch and my husband fell in love with a sweet little girl kind of in between a smooth coat and a wire coat. She brought him a ball and wanted to play, and that was the end of that so I guess, instead of choosing a dog one chose us and we lived happily ever after!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend Georgia Jack Russell rescue. Donna, Mike, and the whole crew of volunteers do such an amazing job taking care of the dogs that find their way to them. They carefully vet every adoption application to make sure that these dogs find their best forever home. I adopted both of my dogs from GJRR and I am so thankful to them for all they did for my babies! Such a wonderful rescue organization!

In 2012 we lost our 14 yr old JRT. We swore that was it, no more. 5 yrs later while scrolling through FB I saw the sweetest JRT on the Ga JR site. A rough coat Parsons with perfect markings, she could have been a model. I fell in love, but I was hesitant. Time went by and I looked for her but she was gone. On a trip to see family we passed by Hollywood feed, so we went in, they were sponsoring a meet and greet. We met Mamma Donna, I told her our story and wished we had acted on the dog I had seen. She told me she had her, there were so many people wanting her, but didn’t have a clue what a JR was all about. She told us that she adopted her, but after meeting us and seeing us she was willing to let us adopt her from her. We named her Tilley. We cannot thank Donna enough allowing us to have this 10 yr old Senior. Tilley passed 3 yrs later from a rare Cancer. So here we go again 5yr later adopted a 2yr with its 6mo puppy. Izzy and Grace.
I cannot express the wonder care these dogs get it’s amazing. Donna and her team go above and beyond for these dogs. To us “it’s no just a dog” We live 2 hours away from the Rescue, it we were closer we wouldn’t be a volunteer.

We met Georgia Jack Russell Rescue and Momma Donna 14 years ago when we adopted sweet Reagan. Donna and her team are doing such wonderful work bringing in these pups and finding perfect homes for them. My prayer is that they are always open and able to continue doing what they do. Reagan just recently passed, but we loved her dearly and she loved us back. We are forever grateful!

What a great rescue organization! Very caring staff. JRs come first there, and are well taken care of. Many followers support this organization, plus they are quite successful on rehabs and adoptions.
I have been a supporter of Georgia Jack Russell Rescue Inc, for years, and will continue to be so.
Many thanks to this organization for helping the pups!

I had been looking for a 2nd dog for about a year. I came across Raven and feel so lucky they picked me to be her new mom. They put a lot of thought into who they will adopt their dogs out to and that is a great thing about this rescue. I'm sure they got tons of applications for Raven before mine. My family had a wonderful experience with this rescue. They let me bring my dog Sophie to meet Raven ahead of time. While I was waiting on Raven to get spayed Donna kept in touch with me the entire time with updates. I still talk to Donna here and there sending her cute pictures of Raven! We had the perfect experience adopting Raven and would recommend this rescue and would def adopt from them again in the future.

I have tried to support Mama Donna and the gang at Georgia Jack Russell Rescue whenever I can. I got my Talulah (Little Too) when she was rescued after a fire broke out at a breeders home. Since then I got another dog Sadie and I go and visit when I can. Always, the rescue is in wonderful condition, even with mother nature working against them. The volunteers are very hard working and the dogs are fondly taken care of. When I can, I donate and support this wonderful group because they are so appreciative, and you know - without a doubt - that your hard earned money is being used wisely. Gloria Casey

Amazing organization! I got my dog Finian from them and it was an incredible experience! Firstly, these dogs are SO loved by the organization, you can tell the minute you see the dogs. They’re incredibly attended and wonderfully cared for. My dog came with all his shots, toys, his favorite bone, even a leash that I still have four years later, because the rescue wanted to make sure I had everything I needed to get started. It was such a delight to meet “Donna”, or “Mama Donna” as she’s named in my phone because we still keep in touch. I can’t recommend this nonprofit enough- they gave me the best gift in the world- my best buddy- and I’m eternally grateful.

I had seen 2 dogs I was interested in on their website. I made an appointment to go see them. I had recently lost the companion to an older dog I had and she was very distraught at being the only dog. I was a little surprised that I was required to bring my dog with me for the initial visit but was ok with it. In hindsight, this was incredibly smart and they knew that. I was impressed at the lengths they went through before ok’ing me to adopt. Once there, it was obvious one of the dogs was better suited for our situation. Had I not taken my dog, I probably would’ve taken the other one. Nearly 2 years later I can’t begin to say how happy I am with the pup I adopted. This rescue spent time with the pup, he was well socialized and knew basic commands. Under their care, he not only had been saved, he was given everything he needed to be successful in finding a keeping a family and home. The facility is impressive and spotless. I have since been back many times and am always in awe of how much work they put in to keep everything on top shape and so clean.
I have since adopted another pet with special needs. They were upfront about his medical requirements and the expense I’d be taking on. I don’t for a minute think they’d have let me adopt him had they not gotten to know me. They wanted to make sure he was going to be taken care of and receive the medical treatment he needed. They allowed me to bring him home to see how the 3 dogs got along with absolutely no pressure whatsoever. Fortunately for me, they all got along and we couldn’t be happier. Again, he’d been socialized and worked with so that he too had every chance to have a successful adoption. I am so grateful to have found this rescue.

Everyone at JR rescue is loving and caring for the furbabies they rescue. Adam Ant was available for adoption after he was hospitalized because of a car accident. From his medical records, I could tell that he was severely injured. When I met him, you could tell that he had been well cared and loved as he recovered with JRR. He is a happy go lucky little guy and I bonded with him from the moment I met him. JRR can be credited with providing a loving and caring environment and socializing Adam Ant to where he easily fit in with a younger dog already at home

The Georgia Jack Russell is a wonderful caring and kind organization with loving volunteers.

I adopted Lucy, a 12 year old Dachshund/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 6 months ago from the Georgia Jack Russell Rescue. When she was found, she had many health problems that probably would have caused other rescues to not devote the money, time, and energy to save her life. She was assessed to need surgery to remove her spleen and several mammary glands and to be spayed. Lucy also received all of her vaccinations at that time. Her recovery was aided by the fact that Donna, the head person for GJRR, kept her in her home all this time plus 6 extra weeks until she could come home to live with me. Donna and her husband loved on her and kept me informed about every little thing they found out about her. They truly loved her. In fact, Mike became so attached to her that he wanted to keep her. Donna and Madelyn drove her 2 hours to reunite us after our initial visit with Lucy. We constantly keep up with pictures and texts.

I adopted 2 puppies from Ga JR. They were left on the side of the road in a cardboard box in the rain and in the mountains. Thank goodness they were found. They were about 6 weeks old, and would have never survived. Since then the have had a fabulous life on my farm. We have gone to the reunions to see all of our friends at the rescue. They absolutely love seeing there babies that they saved and found homes for. Thank you Georgia Jack Rescue for all you do! You are the best.

I’ve volunteered and donated to this wonderful Rescue! It was so easy to see the care and feeling that goes into the love given to all the dogs at this rescue. Not only the dogs are shown love and caring, but the volunteers and adopters are shown love and caring and you become a member of this family! The way the dogs are taken care of everyday and medically cared for is impeccable. Donna takes a lot of dogs that I think a lot of people would “over look” and gives them the best medical care, and has a vet that performs a lot of “miracles”.

GA Jack Russell rescue is an extraordinary dog rescue! I first became involved with them when I returned to the USA 5 years ago after 30+ years living in Germany. We rescued several pups while there. Our recent rescues were a JRT and German Shepherd. I searched for a rescue to support. I’m grateful to them for the opportunity to volunteer.

On my first visit I was struck by their dedication and commitment to each rescue dog and their needs. Their main focus is finding forever homes for the pups that come into their care. Mama Donna and her volunteers are talented in caring for senior dogs and their unique needs, pups in need of urgent care, and rescues who arrive together.

GA JRT Rescue screens fosters and potential adopters to make a “just right”match for each dog. When faced with a rescue dog with extensive needs, they are skilled at raising funding so every pup gets the appropriate medical attention. Be sure to consider Georgia Jack Russell Rescue FIRST when looking to foster or adopt!

I love working with Georgia Jack Russell! I've volunteered with and donated to this group on and off for almost a decade. Very few groups are able to maintain the high level of commitment and quality of care that the Georgia Jack Russell team has demonstrated year over year. Most recently we coordinated a Cub Scout service day at the Georgia Jack Russell main campus and it couldn't have gone better. The Georgia Jack Russell team was so friendly and well-organized, even the youngest volunteers were able to help and to contribute to GA JRT's mission. I can't wait to come back!

My sweet 17-year-old girl, Neely followed her brother Frazier (a GAJRR alumni) over the Rainbow Bridge in August 2020. For the first time in 40+ years, I was without a fur kid. Two days after Neely passed, Mama Donna called me. She said she hoped it wasn't too soon, but she'd had a call from a couple in SC who needed to rehome a 2-year-old Jack, but they wanted him to go straight into another home. I thought about it for a minute and told her to send me some photos. I called Donna back told her I was interested. Oliver's first mom and I had a very nice phone conversation and the following weekend we met up and Oliver's now living the only-dog life in Tennessee. Not only do the great folks at GA Jack Russell Rescue take excellent care in finding homes for their Jacks, they care about all Jacks. Oliver and I are very grateful they do. Bet you can't guess which photo was last year's Christmas card?!

I found Georgia Jack Russell Rescue in 2012 through their Facebook page. They needed help transporting Katie and Gracie to their forever home in Ann Arbor, MI. I contacted them and offered to help. Super Sal brought the girls to my house in Knoxville, TN and I handed them off in Cincinnati, OH for the final leg of their trip. That transport began an association that is near and dear to my heart. I became a sponsor for Skip and then Hartley after Skip crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and helped on several additional northern transports. When I visited the ranch while in GA for a wedding, I was awe-struck at the dedication, love, and commitment of Donna and the volunteers. These folks are truly dedicated to finding these fur babies forever homes, and caring for the senior and special-needs pups. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe these dedicated folks.

In 2014 after deciding my Jack, Neely, needed a sibling, Frazier left the ranch for his forever home with us in Tennessee. Many thanks to Donna and Team Russell for saving this sweet boy for me.

Sparky became part of our family in October of 2014. He brightens our days with his “sparky” personality - the way he trots everywhere he goes - and his licker that he can’t control. He has a bond with his “sister Brynn” (his 5 year old human sister) that I can’t explain. If it weren’t for GA JRT Rescue, we would not have Sparky and I don’t know where we would be! They actually took the time to allow our other dog, Sadie (also a JRT mix who has crossed the rainbow bridge), to meet all the dogs and see who she got along with before we left the rescue with Sparky. They are truly passionate about the dogs and love what they do.

In praise of Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, Inc.
As a years long volunteer for rescue organizations in the capacity of foster and local transporter, I've had the unique opportunity of experiencing first hand the good,
the bad and the ugly of dog rescue.
Through many years of volunteering at a kill shelter in Southern California, I have learned how responsible rescues operate successfully. Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, Inc. is one such rescue. Through an extensive network of reputable rescues, fosters, transporters and veterinary professionals, this rescue has established a stellar reputation, both locally and nationally. I have had the great honor of working directly with this team of dedicated volunteers, one of whom reached out to me after I posted on social media a senior JRT x who was surrendered by his owner to a kill-shelter in Southern California. Skippy was in danger of being euthanized because he was placed in quarantine for an alleged bite incident and was kept in a hidden isolation kennel where public are denied access. This GJRRI member had a friend drive 2 hours to save Skippy and keep him safe in her home for a few weeks, where Skippy was showered with affection and positive reinforcement. Skippy never showed any sign of aggressive or negative behavior and the board member even flew from GA to CA to bring him home with her, not in a cargo hold of a commercial plane, but in coach!
After that wonderful experience, this same board member was able to find rescues for 2 more death-row dogs in So Cal. Both dogs were on the euthanasia list (one who was
aged with bad teeth and a heart murmur and the other who had been living on the streets for weeks after being dumped in a parking lot near the shelter)
Their fosters provide regular updates on the dogs in their home and the rescue provides excellent and immediate veterinary care, sparing no expense for what I lovingly refer to as "our little underdogs" I cannot express the depth of my gratitude and admiration for a rescue who goes above and beyond for the dogs who others are not able or willing to help. I know that in a short period of time, 3 lives that would have otherwise been lost have been given a chance to truly know love and to enjoy life thanks to Georgia Jack Russell Inc. Thanks just seems so inadequate, but it comes from the heart.
Lois Chisholm, Facebook networker and volunteer.

I work for an animal rescue organization in South Carolina that rescue’s approximately 3000 animals per year. Georgia Jack Russell Rescue are partners with our organization and they have helped up with a number of animals, especially the hard to place animals ie. Hospice animals, HW + animals and older pups that are always hard to place. These folks have a heart that is in the right place and they are striving to give all Jack Russell terriers in the metropolitan Atlanta area a good home and a good life.

Georgia Jack Russell Rescue is 100 percent dedicated to finding wonderful homes for displaced Jacks (and other pups too). They often take on the old, the very ill - the ones most in need and often overlooked. This is expensive yet they do it time and time again, with many happy tails along the way. The folks are top notch, dedicated and enjoy the journey for each dog in their care...We've adopted, sponsored, fostered and had fun meeting new friends with common interests - great love for Jacks, dogs and animals in general. This rescue speaks volumes to all that is good and kind in humanity.

I've fostered and adopted from Georgia Jack Russell Rescue (multiple foster failures!). I've never met more kind and caring individuals through this process. After initially fostering and then getting involved in several volunteer events, I knew I wanted to dedicate my time to this rescue. All of the volunteers are passionate about the dogs and it was so easy to fit in! I am so grateful to Georgia Jack Russell Rescue for not only the lifelong friendships I've developed but for the many, many dedicated volunteers that have helped rescue so many dogs over the years. If it weren't for the rescue owner (Donna) taking a chance on an injured JRT that was in a shelter for three months I wouldn't have my heart dog. I love Georgia Jack Russell Rescue!

Ga Jack Russell Rescue is great! Not only do they take in some great looking Jacks but they also rescue the "throw-away" dogs. Many dogs come in with broken bones, heart problems and various other problems and they are all treated with the best vet care available.

I am the recipient of a dog that had a broken hind leg, very skinny and was required crate rest for 4 months. In the past 5 years this little guy has turned into an awesome fun loving little dog. I honestly can't imagine life without this little guy.

Everyone was so warm, friendly and welcoming and excited to show us around. These dogs are treated with so much compassion, respect and most importantly LOVE! They are very knowledgeable about this breed which is why this rescue has a very thorough screening process. They want to be sure that their dogs go to the perfect home. I send them updates and pictures of our dog so they can see how well he is doing. The love they have for the dogs they care for doesn’t end when the dogs leave the rescue.
