Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: To engage communities of faith in stewardship of creation as a direct expression of our faithfulness and as a religious response to global climate change, resource depletion, environmental injustice, pollution, and other disruptions in creation.
Programs: - completed 29 professional energy audits through gipl's power wise program. - received energy audit registrations from 31 congregations. - awarded 17 congregations energy efficiency grants totaling 68,000. - completed the catholic pilot project serving 9 parishes and 3 religious schools, offering energy and water audits. - launched the four directions fund program, teaching 10 workshops on sacred activism and awarding 8 seed grants for creation care projects. - expanded solar wise to engage five congregations in solar energy procurement strategies and collaborate on two community solarize campaigns. - preached and taught on creation care in 45 different congregations or nonprofit partner organizations. - organized the african american community engagement pilot project to be launched january 2018 in service to seven atlanta congregations.
