Causes: Chambers of Commerce & Business Leagues
Mission: The gcla is georgia's preeminent professional association for senior technology leaders. The gcla exists to provide a forum to share ideas, best practices and experiences relevant to cios. It is committed to creating opportunities for georgia cios to engage in substantive, issues-based discussion related to their industries and profession. The organization promotes industry growth and professional development by hosting luncheons, round tables and executive events that facilitate valuable interaction among senior-level experts.
Programs: Business relationships and goodwill of persons serving as chief information officer ("cio") of (or holding comparable position in) businesses and other enterprises located in georgia and beyond, by educating and promoting discussions and interactions among such persons that address issues confronted by such persons in that aspect of business and commerce, in order to share and advance best practices in information and system management. The association members meet approximately 6-12 times annually. Luncheons held quarterly are planned to include a presentation by an industry leader and a roundtable discussion about one or more issues raised by the presentation. Members gather semi-annually for networking receptions with a presentation by a leadership speaker or author. Periodic breakfast events are held throughout the year to share insights on best practices. The "cio of the year" awards ceremony is held annually. Cios will be nominated as cio of the year in various categories. The ceremony recognizes cios employed by georgia corporations that have furthered best practices in information and system management in their company's operations.
