Gentle Giants is an organization that was founded by two women who are completely transparent in what they do and help as many Asian elephants as they can to stay out of the tourism industry and/or be rescued from the tourism industry. Recently they have added caring for African elephants, and some other African animals, such as zebras. And the most recent venture is taking care of elderly retired elephants in an existing sanctuary in Cambodia. Every penny that is donated to Gentle Giants Stay Home Project goes directly to helping animals in danger. Donors money is put to very good use with Gentle Giants.

I have had three birthday fundraisers for gentle giants, and give on a regular basis because they do great work, in helping keep elephants in Thailand out of the cruel tourist industry. Gentle giants, does this by helping the families that own elephants, be able to keep them home, rather than forcing them to work in unsafe and painful conditions. Gentle giants also Helps rescue elephants to come to Elephant Nature Park, if their owners are unable to keep them and are thinking about selling them to the tourist industry. Gentle giants is very transparent about everything that they do, and every cent goes towards helping the elephants.
I stumbled onto the Gentle Giants organization when it appeared in my YouTube feed one day. I have followed them ever since and it has become my favorite nonprofit. What can I say to match the story of how Gentle Giants was founded, by two women in the U.S. who wanted to help feed starving elephants during Covid? And it has grown into so, so much more, with the extraordinary Om Koi project, adoption and support of countless formerly captive and badly abused elephants, funding a leg brace for a crippled elephant, and so much more. I feel like Gentle Giants supporters are a big, loving family and I am grateful and honored to be a part. The founders are amazing, compassionate visionaries who are making a difference by putting themselves and all their energy into this magnificent program. I am an elephant lover and follow several elephant organizations. I stumbled onto Gentle Giants one day and was taken in by the story of its founding as a means of getting starving elephants fed. The people who lead this organization are forever inspiring me with the breadth of their vision - for example, paying elephant owners to let the elephants live like elephants in the wild do rather than forcing them to work in the brutal logging camps or to give rides to tourists. They have rescued several "working" elephants so they could live their lives in freedom and safety at Elephant Nature Park. I love reading the Gentle Giants postings because they are heart felt and loving - there is great compassion and goodness in this organization and its supporters. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to and staying in Asian countries. I’ve seen, first hand, the cruelty, exploitation and torture inflicted on Asian elephants as they are trained for human use in tourism, logging, mining. The pain and suffering these elephants endure is unimaginable.

I first heard of gentle Giants 3 and 1/2 years ago and I have been a faithful follower on Instagram sponsoring and donating. Gentle Giants in my opinion is a great and wonderful sanctuary they're very open and honest about everything that is going on with their elephants. Gentle Giants Elephant Stay Home Project helps elephants and their owners to stay home and they have no longer to go away from home and earn an income away from home and family. The project came in to being as a help for elephants and their owners when covid halted the complete tourism industry in Thailand. Gentle Giants stepped in and supported with monthly donations, vet bills, suplementary foods and many things like enrichtments for the elephants. They are always open and reliable despite some severe setbacks. To me a worthy cause.
Gentle Giants Stay Home Project’s Diana Munoz and Colby Steiner are working so hard and take every opportunity to save elephants in Southeast Asia since June 2020. They reached many goals which can be found on the GG website and they are still going strong. And now they also are involved in saving elephants in Africa. They work on the elephant’s well being as well as trying to keep mother and baby elephants together during a rescue and work together with several elephant organizations that have elephants to care for. Tourism came to a stand still around the world. Not only did people suffer, but elephants in Thailand no longer had food.

I came across Gentle Giants Elephants during the Covid pandemic, and have become a donor, and advocate for the group. In fact I thought it would be a train wreck because I had never seen anyone take on such a financial burden and live to tell the story. Gentle Giant's Elephant Stay Home Project is an amazing organization that I have supported for 2 years. The 2 woman who founded and run this non profit charity are extremely passionate, hard working and transparent. They started during COVID shutdowns to help owners to support their elephants at a very difficult time and keep them at home, teach them a new, profitable and more human way of treating their elephants, as the traditional way is to make money from their elephants through tourism or industry which is very cruel to the elephants. They continue to run their non profit organization to give Thailand's elephant and their human families a healthier and better way of life to keep elephants free and living in a more natural way. They closely monitor the over 100 elephants under their care with the help of key individuals of other non profit elephant ethical sanctuaries in Thailand. They have made such a big difference for so many elephants. They have also worked closely with Bionic Pets to get the first lifesaving prosthetic aids to several elephants. I've attached a before and after picture of a very young female elephant, Bai Toey. They received the help of Lek Chailert when this elephants health rapidly declined. She was transported to Lek's sanctuary, Elephant Nature Park, where she was given the medical help she desperately needed. She now is thriving and forming relationships with other elephants at Elephant Nature Park and Gentle Giants Elephant Stay Home Project continues to support her. Gentle Giants elephants does an amazing job of helping to support Asian elephants. They started during the pandemic, when there was a crisis for Asian elephants, because tourism had dried up. Gentle giants has stepped into the void, and has been helping to support many Asian elephants, and more importantly, keep them from being returned to a life of servitude. Gentle giants, works with the owners and elephant sanctuary‘s in Asia to try to change the hearts and minds of not only the owners, but tourists as well so that elephants are not forced into servitude which often includes abuse and neglect. They have done an amazing job over the last several years in helping to keep elephants chain-free and making sure their health and welfare is taken care of.
It is so wonderful how the caregivers are with the without donations and volunteers this would never be accomplished. God Bless the caregivers and community who fine together for the greater good of the special Elephants.
This charity has worked extremely hard and continues to work hard for the elephants in Asia. There is a continual need to save the elephants and educate owners and people in general about how the logging, entertaining and tourist attractions are abusing these elephants. Elephants are the most amazing and intelligent creatures to roam this planet, but unfortunately there are a lot of people who want to abuse and harm these elephants for money mainly in the tourist industry. GG raises money so that the beautiful creatures can be saved from a life of misery by negotiating with the owner’s to either sell the elephants to them or to educate them in making money from other means while help and support is given from BB
BB sometimes have to make hard decisions as to these individuals especially when they demand more money or do not want sell their elephants. The elephants that they have saved with the help from donations from around the world mainly go to Elephant Nature Park or the elephant owners make a living away from the tourist industry are supported financially by BB.
How wonderful it is to have such wonderful people running the charity who are so passionate and caring for the welfare of the elephants, they have saved so many elephants from a life of misery and despair. Gentle Giants is a wonderful organization that has helped and rescued over 100 Asian elephants in Thailand since their inception in 2020. Without their help, these beautiful beings would have starved during the covid lockdown, and since then they have continued paying for their food, shelter, medical needs, the mahouts' (caretakers) wages, and have even ensured that many of these elephants remain permanently free.
Their work not only keeps a large number of Asian elephants free and safe within their natural environment, it also provides financial aid for the locals who legally own some of the elephants in their program - which in turn keeps the elephants from being treated like slaves. Thus, by seeing them as living, sentient beings, these locals are also actively learning to change their ways for the better and to stop the horrible practice of enslaving elephants. Additionally, they work with sanctuaries, activists and an educational speaker to continue making the public aware of the plight of the Asian elephant.
Lastly, they've also succeeded in helping elephants with dire medical needs such as a broken spine or permanent limb injuries by fitting them with specially designed braces that have aided them tremendously and added a lot to their quality of life. They are wonderful organization that deserves all the support in the world.

Gentle Giants Nonprofit came into being as the Covid pandemic was underway. How genius was this idea! This nonprofit in a way, was a silver lining to the pandemic because I could help transfer a tired, ill elephant from suffering villagers in Thailand to give them the opportunity for a renewed life including medical attention, physical space and species companionship. This organization is the perfect match with Elephant Nature Park due to their expertise in offering a new beginning for elephants. The expression, "win-win" holds true, and supporting Gentle Giants even from the other side of the world like me, was - and is - a marvelous way to protect and save the world's beloved Asian elephants.

This non profit takes in elephants that have been cruelly treated throughout their lives and given them a home where there are treated with love, dignity and respect, never having to have bull hooks dug into their skin or beatings or made to work with massive injuries. The also take in other animals that need help. Kindness and care are given to all the animals by all the staff. Fantastic place

It is difficult to express just how much I respect and admire the two women that set out a few years ago to help ease the suffering of elephants. How much they have accomplished in such a short time. How many elephants they have helped. How much awareness they have brought to the public so that many wanted to help. It certainly has not been easy and many challenges have been faced. Somehow they remained strong. How I wish we had more people like this in the World. I would recommend them to anyone who wished to help and could donate. Gentle Giants is amazing. They are honest and care so much about the elephants. I've been donating to their cause for several years. Their email updates give lots of great info about the elephants they have saved and the ones they are trying to rescue.
My family loves supporting Gentle Giants because we can see the tangible benefit every time we donate. Not only do we know they use the money for a good cause, we know the individual animals who are rescued and cared for using the funds. Watching the elephants transform, physically and mentally, after their rescues brings us such joy. Our personal favorite is when we donate money for an "elephant cake" and are able to see photos of the elephants eating the treats within a day or two.
I think that the work this charity does is amazing. And I think it's great that they share all the stories, the joys and triumphs as well as the losses and heartbreak. People should see all sides of what is happening in these elephants lives in order to help them more. They fight hard for all their elephants and elephants in general and that is amazing work.

I've been involved with Gentle Giants Stay Home Project since its inception in 2020 when Thailand's out of work elephants, were led back to their villages do to the COVID crisis. I have witnessed GG's ability to meet on a consistent basis, the immediate needs of elephants in dire straights, with an eye on long term solutions and care management. I am honored to contribute to an organization that has proven success in creating self sustainable systems involving work equity and an eye on the future, which has consistently resulted in a better life for all under their care. I didn't really know much about Asian elephants before I started following this organization. They have been one of the reasons I open Instagram daily so I can check up on all the elephants that they help and sponsor. They are doing incredible work and my dream is to go someday to Thailand and visit some of the elephants under their care.
GG won't stop at anything to help rescue elephants from being tortured. GG gives these elephants the love, affection, freedom and caring to help them live their best life. I have followed Gentle Giants since the pandemic in 2020 on Facebook. Last year I received an Ele-Cake for my birthday and made a wish I could do more. This year, my company has raised over $5000 so far in donations, and we're just getting started. The work that Diana and Colby do through their organization is groundbreaking in both concept and its continuation now that the borders have reopened. To have changed the minds of these owners so effectively, that even though they could take these beautiful animals back to a life of slavery and toil and instead they keep them in the Gentle Giant's program, speaks volumes for the efforts of these women.
