Mission: Gemini ink educates the public about literature and nurtures writers and readers and builds community through literature and related arts. The organization encourages focused reading, writing and exchange at every level.
Programs: Creative writing classes-offers accessible fair-cost creative writing classes, taught by professional published writers and scholars, to the community. Students of all experience levels have the opportunity to workshop new and current work, receive feedback, and discuss. Scholarships available.
writers in communities-sends published writers into community settings such as schools, shelters, detention centers, nursing homes, and more to teach free creative writing classes to under-served and vulnerable populations throughout san antonio's diverse community.
literary programs-provides a variety of multicultural literary programming throughout the san antonio community, including free readings and author talks, lectures, group discussions, open mic nights, workshops, summer writers' conference, and more. Visiting authors from other parts of the country are also brought to san antonio to engage with south texas writers and widen the literary horizons of the city.
They are very professional and they are great employers to their volunteers. They go around the community connecting readers and writers. As they continue to grow they are improving the city of San Antonio by providing more literary arts and creativity. They also provide opportunities for aspiring writers with the outstanding workshops they provide.
