Over the past 50 years, gateway has become one of the largest and most trusted providers of substance use and co-occurring treatment services in the united states. Spanning five decades of service, our mission has been, and continues to be, the provision of substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment that are therapeutically effective and cost efficient. Gateway's vision is to be the nation's leading treatment provider, helping to create access through affordable, high quality intervention for individuals suffering from substance use and mental health disorders. Gateway employs a clinical model that is constantly evolving to incorporate best practice science driven intervention including the use of psychiatry and addiction medicine. Gateway today has treatment sites spanning seven states, including illinois, texas, delaware, missouri, new jersey, michigan and wyoming serving over 6,500 persons daily. In total, gateway maintains over 50 sites, all dedicated to providing a range of substance use disorder treatment. Programs are provided in both community and correctional settings, and serve a diverse clientele, including adolescents andadults with substance use disorders, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated adults, and those with co-occurring mental health disorders. Gateway has a 50 year legacy of providing evidenced-based, trauma-informed, licensed, accredited services in these programs. Our treatment programs emphasize the development of life skills that enhance individuals' abilities to maintain active recovery from substances while living a healthy and productive life. We provide expertise in best practices, possess financial stability, and have extensive administrative support services. Gateway foundation is fully accredited by the joint commission. In fiscal year 2017, gateway foundation, inc. Expanded operations to open three new treatment facilities in gurnee, joliet and springfield illinois. The expansion was driven by our mission and vision to provide high quality care to all who are in need. Gateway foundation has purchased a building in jacksonville, il that will go live in april of 2018 to further expand care to those in need. Gateway continues to make significant investment into creating and maintaining an infrastructure that will continue to grow the organization while providing high quality excellent care.
