I absolutely love Garvey/Allen for its unique ability to create a small and safe environment full of cultural awareness and rigor. Black and brown achievers come onto our campus and immediately feel the energy and love from our staff members. They are taught to truly embrace who they are and break all stereotypes attached to them as black and brown children. It is a place where we transform students into achievers who will positively impact the world we all live in. Mrs. Gilmore is a visionary who created a hidden treasure in Moreno Valley. If you are looking for something different for your middle school-aged children, Garvey/Allen is the place to be. The experience is second to none!
This school is not what they claim they are. The school administrators lack professionalism, the adults bully kids and they show favoritism to the ones that they know. Adults are cursing at children and telling them to “stand on business “ blaming the children for the staffing quitting. I would not enroll your child unless you’re ghetto as the staff is. They do not provide lunch, they run out of breakfast and attempt to have parents pay for things that should be provided. The CEO is not closing down anything but the spirit of the children and she should be ashamed.
Garvey Allen Academy brings out the best in every child by tapping into their individual strengths, while creating an environment of kindness, responsibility, and leadership. I am so grateful to be apart of an amazing team.
I had the pleasure of volunteering at Garvey/Allen Academy and I must say the staff and Mrs. Gilmore, CEO are the best of the best. The school is very nurturing and has a compelling learning environment. The student's seem to be really engaged in the arts and the other programs available. Garvey/Allen is one of a kind. I have taught at various schools in my career, but never have I seen a school like GAVPAA. Students are called "Achievers". Achievers are equipped to "Be the solution" in society. GAVPAA practices "total" education, in which Achievers are exposed to a diverse range of learning from STEM to Language, and the Arts. There is a sense of community at Garvey/Allen. Everyone, from the leadership to achievers and their parents, feel like family. Achievers truly experience a complete transformation and become the best version of themselves during their time at Garvey/Allen.
This is an educational institution that cares for its kids. Kids enter as students and leave as Achievers! Teachers are encouraged and taught to innovate, sing songs, teach through dance and cater to the learning llstyles of historically disenfranchised and marginalized students!
Garvey/Allen Academy is an excellent school. My daughter loves attending there. The achievement guide are always ready to help her with anything she is struggling with. They are amazing teachers that go above and beyond to help all Achievers reach their goals. I always talk about Garvey to our friends and family. This is not a regular school , this is a wonderful village that takes care of all their Achievers in many ways. Being apart of this amazing Dream Team has been a great experience! The opportunities that our staff and achievers have are limitless. Hello my name is Mrs. McLead. Working at Garvey Allen Visual and Performing Arts Academy is an honor. Our Founder and CEO Mrs. Tiffany Gilmore opened this Academy to close the prison pipeline. This trend is where Black and Brown Students are funneled out of Public Schools and into the juvenile/criminal legal system. Here at GAVPAA we are a village that focuses on taking Achiever's to the level of Excellence on Purpose. Our Achiever's are engaged in the lessons they are learning daily. Equity and engagement is critical in helping our Achiever's thrive. We are the Solution to undeserving Students by increasing equity in the classrooms. This is a critical way to make the lives of every Achiever better. We Are The Solution. Nobody Does It Better Than Garvey Allen.
I have the pleasure of being part of what we call at Garvey/Allen, the Dream Team. Garvey/Allen is a school that prioritizes rigor, project-based learning, cultural connectedness, student voice and social emotional awareness and skills. I’ve worked over 25 years in education and 15 years+ as an administrator and I have never worked for an organization and CEO/leader who understands the needs of children of color. Garvey/Allen is unique, progressive and is truly a place where our families, our village, feel at home.
WOW!!!! There are so many things I can say about how great it is to work and be a part of the Garvey Allen Academy Dream Team!!! I wish I had a school like this to go to growing up. Garvey Allen is an inspiring place to be as a child, and as an adult. Everything about the school screams EXCELLENCE!!!! To be a part of Garvey Allen isn't just about being a part of a school, but a part of a growing legacy. Mrs. Gilmore worked hard and created something extremely beautiful I wish every child could be an Achiever here. I love that we give the children the tools to be successful not only in academics but in life. The Achievement Guides are all great and come from well-rounded educational backgrounds. There is so much more I can say about Garvey I wish I could leave more than just 5 stars. Garvey Allen will forever be something special to me.
My experience has been fair with the school . My admiration is in the perseverance of the leaders That have not given up. There has been a noticeable turnover with both students and staff but that is ok if better staff is used as a replacement. I like the school and hope that it grows into the garden it is intended.

Being an Achievement Guide(Teacher) at Garvey Allen Academy has been a Miraculous experience. From day one, when I was hired, I have watched and enjoyed the inclusive career in the classroom growth and loyalty demonstrated by the CEO, Tiffany Gilmore. I am furthermore, gracious that I chose to represent this woman's vision, to open a school, with excellent teaching in both the STEAM and the ARTS, in inner-city Moreno Valley. However, my optimistic approach was only 1/4 part of my gratefulness for working with this organization. GAVPAA STEM has grown me and shaped me to be a better Achievement Guide, and that makes all the difference. I thoroughly enjoy working at a place that I get to empower youth, through teaching Pe/Dance and Health and Social Studies. However, it is the growth that Mrs. Gilmore saw in me that makes us, Achievement Guides teach on a level of, "Excellence on Purpose," with our young middle school achievers. They say, "Bosses tell you what to do, and Leaders teach you how to make a difference and an impact." CEO Tiffany Gilmore is a great CEO of GAVPAA STEM because she is a great Black Leader and an Architect of Social and Community change.

My name is Verenice Walters and I am the Science/STEM teacher at GAVPAA STEM. I had the privilege to be a founding teaching for this founding school of diversity and equity integration. The teachers at GAVPAA STEM set the bar high for future contributors of society; for we know that the social, emotional, and academic skills they learn today, will be of the essence for their future lives.
We take pride in the rigor and the culture that we set. We hold the students to high expectations. Most importantly, we equip them to face the world by providing them an opportunity to thrive in a school that is meant to close the gap of the education system. Through this pandemic, the teachers of GAVPAA STEM have extended as much grace as we have rigor.
Our students have thrived and will continue to thrive through these difficult times with resilience.
As an Achievement Guide for the Garvey Allen Visual and Performing Arts Academy for STEM, I feel that we are going above and beyond the call of duty to #BETHESOLUTION for the your of our community. Now more than ever, the education gap is growing by leaps and bounds. But , in my 20 years in the field of education, never have I ever seen or been involved with a group of people so dedicated to being innovative and pushing the boundaries of where a child's mind can be taken. We are using technology to our advantage to keep the SOCIAL in social distance and the FUN in fundamentals. We care about our Achievers (Students) and our Founder /CEO cares about us all. She goes above and beyond for her Achievers and her staff (affectionately know as the Dream Team) to be sure that we have what we need to be successful in everything we do. We believe that we are building a foundation here for every Achiever that comes through these doors. The "Rigor, Culture, Hussle" Life is real! When I tell you I LOVE WORKING for GAVPAA/STEM!! Mrs. Gilmore has provided a space for her Dream Team that is amazing. Being part of the staff and the local community has motivated me more for my community. Our Achiever's has greatness in front of them. Teachers who look like them. Memorabilia around campus that reminds us ( staff and students) that we can achieve our Dreams just like Dr. King. My work environment is so non toxic unlike the horror stories I hear from friends and their work environment. As the Executive Assistant and Parent Engagement Specialist, it's a complete honor to work here. We are building a great community for our youth! Here's a few happy faces of GAVPAA/STEM!
GAVPAA is innovative, and most of all, cares for all students. The teachers hold their "Achievers" to high standards, and do not "cave" in to mediocre standards. Each day they strive to serve the community, and grow as a professional team. My youngest child is currently too young to attend, but dreams about the day she can be called an "Achiever!" This is truly a family, community and excellence centered establishment.
Garvey Allen Academy is the charter school that took decades too long to be founded. The CEO is a visionary. The environment created within these walls is open, and trusting, and challenging for our achievers (students), and dream team (staff) as well. The opportunities I've been afforded while here has been mind opening. Here at GAVPAA STEM we instill that our achievers are the architects of their own destinies, and that in a world filled with intolerance and exclusion they must mentally and emotionally evolve and be the solution this world desperately needs. We are teaching the future decision makers of this world. It is vital that they have the solid foundation and proper tools needed to create those changes the world can grow from.
